Hi,just bought this, one very short trial flight-hop, now as they say if all else fails read the instructions, reading manual ,enjoyed this video i agree it seems a superb job by MILTECH. My family were regular visitors to many of the great air shows put on at U S bases in east anglia UK such as MILDENHALL & LAKENHEATH ,when we lived in Hertfordshire. I had never seen an OSPREY untill President Bydon came to Cornwell for the recent summit on the enviroment, a group of the presidential OSPREYS flew over TAVISTOCK in west DEVON where we now live which was great luck . Thankyou for all the interesting videos you produce and best wishes for 2023,happy flying. Dave.

This is a challenge to fly indeed !! I've flown it from cold n dark to landing on a moving ship about 8 times now, 6 of those I dropped out of the sky moving the nacelle's too quickly and over rpming the engines ! In VR it is awesome !! You really have to keep an eye on the nacelle angle, rpm and vertical rate drop. I'm sure the developers will update this brilliant addition to the sim.

Earned a sub there sir. As a former Tucson resident, its fun for me to fly a few missions out of DMAFB. Nice to see you share the same opinion. After your review, I decided to buy this beast. Although my heart desires the C-2 Greyhound (cmon indiafoxtecho!!!!!!) This has A TON of potential for missions around San Diego where I like to fly.

its the main thing for Tilt rotor is it can fly faster than normal rotary wing aircraft...

While your flying with the osprey are you using a collective or with a throttle? I currently am only running a HOTAS setup and hesitant to pick up this model while only running a HOTAS setup

with the selling price, I expect the interior cockpit graphics would look luxurious like FENIX or PMDG. The external looks, sounds is amazing. Superb.

Why do I have Chocks on mine and I can’t start the engines because of the chocks and I don’t know how to get rid of them??
One of these landed at addenbrookes hospital helipad and when it took off it wiped out the HEMS landing pad by blowing it all over the place completely destroying it that’s in Cambridge Cambridgeshire uk for those that don’t know it

I have two questions. Would you consider this a "study level" aircraft? Is there a built in check list that will point to the instrument when selected?
you can use the ingame checklist to start this, i like it but i feel the physics can be weird sometimes, hopefully it will improve with time

Ignore theackings, the MV-22B Osprey is great aircraft mod with a lot of great functionality, allowinga great platform to fly around and view MSFS scenary, in closer detail. As well as allows you to create your own mission goals, without any extension packs.
And boy, oh, boy , engine failure, plus VRS is modelled, in this beat!
How were you changing the nacelle angle, at start up and just prior to lifting it into a hover?

Why is it so fast you ask? Well, it is primarily an assault vehicle. It is meant to carry Marines quickly from ships (beyond the horizon) to the target area. Beats the slow, 5-10 knots, vulnerable landing craft we used.

On the one side it would be great on DCS, on the other though to more military systems and armament worse graphic :/

Get nach's up, pull back more on stick to slow down while decreasing throttle until you need more throttle for hover authority. You'll stick it. Maybe give yer guys some hemorrhoids tho, but they're Marine tough, just piss'um off to fight harder.
I guess, in flight mode it should have unlimited vertical, no?

In several rotor wing videos, you refer to "vertical ring state" - it is more accurately called "vortex" ring state and a settling with power condition. I'm not complaining, I like the vids, but this sort of terminology is important to understand.
I am fully convinced that the word "ugly" was invented specifically for this aircraft...

I would LOVE a list of things that are required in order to not have this thing overstress and fail... it's not "high rpm", it's not the settings... like, what is it?! Why does it keep failing from overstressed engines?! I'm slowly, steadily climbing before transitioning to normal flight, and then right about halfway through the transition, slowly gaining speed and maintaining altitude, boom, it fucks up.... sometimes it happens at other random moments, mid-flight. Jesus Christ, please someone help me out.
I literally need a checklist of everything that needs to be set, just to make sure I'm not losing my mind, because I've looked through the manual over and over again for something I'm missing - there're a bunch of settings that have to be in order, otherwise the game engine just stops properly communicating with the Osprey's rig which leads to overstresses and fails.
I'm ok with correcting the sink rate cause I've got a HOTAS, and I'm not overcorrecting with high rpm, so I don't think it's that.
I'm pretty convinced it's just one of those things where, if something isn't set properly, or you active pause whilst in hover, the information between the osprey and the game engine gets skewed which leads to failure... I feel like it's something like that that I've somehow missed.
If someone can shine some light, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Manual is critical for this plane.
A lot of blood, sweat and tears in developing the real thing. I once wrote the Sec of Defense as a teenager asking that he wouldn’t ax the development program after a particular grizzly crash that killed all hands at Paxton River. The V-22 is an aircraft that definitely needs to be mentally flown ahead or it will bite you, it’s up there with the Mitsubishi M-2.
