While I think I may not be old enough, or have reached a point of experience in my own life and career yet to say I'm in a position to truly "pass the torch" yet, I still want to take this time to introduce you to a promising young pianist that astonished me when I first met him - his name is William Schwartzman (@williamschwartzman), who just recently turned 18. Last month, Will told me he would be in Tokyo visiting with his family, so I immediately took the opportunity to bring him to a studio to jam and make some TH-cam videos. What happened, to me, was the beginning of what I know is the blossoming genius of this young pianist. In today's seemingly endless sea of technically gifted carbon copies, or the reluctance to be anything but "correct", Will stands out as someone who will have one of the next truly original voices in the future of jazz. When I met him at the Vail Jazz workshop, I knew it right away. Will SINGS on the piano with an eager fervor to take on the world with this artistry. It's extremely inspiring.
I'd like to also mention that each song we recorded for this channel was done in one take, because that's all we had time for. This was truly an immensely honest exploration of music in its purest sense, and I hope you can enjoy that transparency with every flub and mistake we left in to keep it as raw as possible. There's not enough of that on TH-cam anymore.

This is a pretty rock solid duo ngl. The time stays so steady without drums and the harmony never feels hollow despite there being no bass so the tune just floats beautifully, nice job guys.
