I left in 1982 and so far, no one has died at any birthday party I ever went to. Have a party!! Celebrate your life!! Wow! Your first birthday!! I just had my first at 50!!!
***** I always had parties for my kids, but never had one for myself! This year, turning 50, I decided to celebrate my own! It was wonderful! Strawberry cake home-made by my kids! Friends and family and a great dinner! I got little presents from my kids and friend's kids! It was worth it! Thank you for the comment! Hugs friend! !!

It's so refreshing to me to see a young person like yourself research your own information. I was brought up as a JW and left the JW organization as an adult, but never took the time to start researching until a few years ago I started having a hunger for God and finally started doing my own research now in my 40s and Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior has set me free from the hooks of the Watchtower. Praise God! Keep up the good work God bless!
I was raised as a JW, but fortunately I never got babtized. I stopped going over 18 years ago to the k- hall. The best decision I ever made in my life. Good luck to you Kameron.
I was born and bought up as Jehovah's witnesses and it always hurts me when they did not celebrate my B-Day... And now Jesus is in my life and I live the way he changed my life

As someone who considers leaving this religion, you make very good points. Never got why birthdays were seen as inappropriate. I really appreciate your insightful videos!
Because we will have a new world it is way better what's the point of celebrating birthdays and holidays like on your birthday why only eat cake and cupcakes that day eat it whenever you want same with Halloween you don't just need to eat candy that day eat whenever Christmas why only give presents to your parents or your kids on that day give them whenever
Thank you! I have been having physical ailments due to my stress and anxiety of being shunned by my friends and family and it's so great to hear that I'm not alone
Finally yesterday I celebrated my 1st Birthday. Num 27. I was JW for 25 years of my life. Mom and me before many many years open eyes. hugs bro from Mexico.
I like that you mention that the angels celebrated at the birth of Jesus. I never thought of that. Happy Birthday! It took me years to deprogram on the topic of birthdays. My JW husband died the week of our son's first birthday and my emotions were running high when my family bought my son presents and a cake, which would've been against his dad's wishes. It was one of the reasons I started studying with the JWs after he died, as well as our daughter being born around Christmas and us being looked after by them in their house with all the celebrations going on. We left it 15 years ago now, but although we celebrated the kids birthdays, I always found it difficult to celebrate mine. We have my son's 21st coming up this year and it will be special!
First of all angels rejoicing over Jesus' is not a birthday party. It's the arrival of the messiah but who isn't happy when a baby is born and surely as he/she grows older he/she needs to learn the significance of honor, integrity and reputation with God especially. Still, that doesn't prove any reason why birthdays should be completely banned.
@@claudiaarmah2389 My kids' birthdays are special to me as I'm their mum and I want to celebrate them. It hurts when you can't celebrate with them fo whatever reason
so if the Bible said that Salome requested the head of John while Herod was eating dinner instead of celebrating his birthday, would eating dinner be a sin?
Johnny Essloe u r being sarcastic I’m sure. If it had been a weeding or an anniversary party would those be forbidden? Doubt it. Can’t take a girls wedding or her fancy anniversary party. Jw women go over the top on “their” day.. a little couple worship. But that’s ok. Just not our kids or forbid ourselves a special day.
Great video Kam. Celebrating ones birthday is thanking God for the life He has given you. Appreciating the day you were born and acknowledging that your life comes from Him.
God indeed knows His children... He calling us one by one from various circles of the world back to Himself. Thank you Jesus for loving me so much to have called me also
kameron, thanks for your research...i was dfshipped in 2007 i used to be a ''cool older lady''; even in the truth i knew how to laugh and have fun but now im older and my eyesight is regressing, so thank you very much for doing what not all of us can anymore
Of *ALL* the ex-JW vids on TH-cam, there are two 'publishers' (heheheh) that I prefer above the rest because of the presentation-style. Yours is one of the two. You are calm, factual and thoughtful. You do not rant and rave in such a way as to *offend* current witnesses and have them turn away and not hear the (actual) truth. Keep up the good work. BTW, how was your birthday celebration? And Christmas? And Easter? And Thanksgiving? And Independence Day? :^)
@@KameronFader Hey kameron. First of all I just want to tell you that you are such a strong and brave person. I have watched all of your videos and I love your confidence that you bring out in them. I have a situation I thought you may help me out. My sister is a JW and as much as I try talking to her with all the reaserch I have learned from you she still doesn't want to even listen to what I got to say. The only real problem I have at this point with the JW concerns my niece and nephew. My niece just had a birthday and she knows that she did but was just so crushed sad when nobody told her happy birthday and didn't receive one present. 😥 So my question is ...Is it possible that I can pull off a "Sofia Apprection Day" for my niece. A day of appreciation for being such a wonderful niece. Where it will be a dinner of her choice, watching a movie of her choice and presents lots of presents they don't even have to be wrapped. But thier will be no bithday supplies, no birthday cake, no birthday song nothing. Do you think that this would be possible. Their beliefs are so strict that I am not if that would be ok with my sister .I really want the kids to be appreciated but in a fun way. They deserve it their kids Also if it works out havingcellebraite it every year on the same date, cause anniversary's I heard are allowed to be celebrated Thank you so much kameron I appreciate your time and patience. Sorry for it being so long. Bye
There was a murder regarding a wedding!! Look up 1Samual 18:17-29 David killed 200 Philistines, the price he paid in order to marry Michal, King Saul's daughter.
Hi Kameron, I also just left the jw's and I agree with what you are talking about, as a matter of fact, their issues agaibst birthday never made entire sense to me and never fully accepted because of that. I cant want for more of your videos. Take care!
Awesome video!! It takes a long time to feel comfortable, probably always feels a little weird but our family celebrates everything we can now. So fun! Happy birthday 🎉
Amazing job!! Love all your videos :-) :-) I've been needing some clarity on this subject since my b-day is this month as well and I've never celebrated either. You've cleared it all up for me, thank you :-)
Good job with the explanation! I still have a hard time celebrating my own birthday ( not wanting to bring attention to myself) but love celebrating others birthdays. So glad you are helping people see the real truth of the Bible !
Lonna T I was like that for years. Then I started to realise how important my birthday was to my children especially. Their excitement at making me a breakfast or tea in bed was something I could easily have quashed when I showed I felt guilty about being in the centre of attention. Every day belongs to the Lord, including the day others want to make a fuss of you. Its a time to share your appreciation of them loving you too.
Pink Fuschia - I never thought of it that way ! You are absolutely right though. I was a born in & stayed in the org 40 years. Their policies get so ingrained that it's difficult to deprogram sometimes. I've been out 22 years & there's still some things I struggle with! These videos & comments a really helpful ! So glad to have them 👏
Lonna T Me too. I think these young ones are really brave. I wasn't brought up in it, but got introduced by my first husband when we were just friends at 21. We never celebrated birthdays in our marriage, even though I was the non believer. He died the week of our son's first birthday and this was when I really got involved with JWs on my own steam as I had promised him we weren't doing birthdays with the kids and the timing of his death was not good. I was rebelling against my family who were opposed too. Now though, I rejoice in the birth of my son rather than mourning the death of his dad as much at that time. He will be 21 this year and we'll be having fun. If I'm totally honest, his dad enjoyed my 21st and it caused him problems at the Kingdom Hall as he was the life and soul of the party and shouldn't have accepted my invitation!
tim spangler Yes. I knew about Grace and mercy before, being raised Catholic, although I never experienced Holy Spirit, which I have on the church that recently found me. Amazing!
My whole family and I were able to leave together a few years ago and I'm still awkward being around birthdays and Christmas and lots of other things. That fear just doesn't go away
I’m an atheist and I used to be a devoted Christian and I still struggle to let go or not feel guilty for some things. Religion really ruined me. No offense to you though I just thought even if we have different beliefs we can have similar struggles!
My boyfriend and I broke up because he wanted to continue his practices as a JW, but yet he's still coming around and there's always something that holds us together! I am of Christian faith, if we had to give me a title well I grew up as a Baptist! My point is these videos have given me hope, that like a lot of JWs that have been awakened, I hope he does too! There's so many secondary things that this organization says they should or shouldn't do when the only one who has the power to do that is God and like you say nowhere in the Bible does it say not to do certain things! Anyway keep up the good fight 😊love your videos! God bless!
Your comment was reassuring. I have a friend whom I have feelings towards him. I also knows he is attracted to me. But the main point that keeps us a friends is that he's a JW and I'm a Christian. He's very active in his congregation and any conversation is just the worse. But thank you for your message
The break up was worth it because if you two dated and agreed to marriage, your lives will be filled with unstoppable conflicts and that could eventually sever your marriage. JWs hold on to bible teaching which is no doubt commendable because they honor Jehovah, their Creator who made everyone on earth. What is annoying is that they can be very judgemental of certain people and might even use guilt-tripping scriptural advice to make sure that you strictly follow bible teachings. The intention may be good but for reasons that are inappropriate. If a person is involved in self-destructive behaviour or sexually immoral lifestyle, then it is proper to give a loving counsel for their physical and spiritual benefit. But when it comes to celebrations especially if they are non-religious ones like birthdays and anniversaries they can remind them of the origins and Jehovah's view on these celebrations similar to that of the past but they cannot expect them to break off immediately. They need certain scriptures to increase their conviction before they can make a concluding decision.
Wow. I can't believe I missed this during my research. This is a wonderful comment and a wonderful point you've made. Thank you Pedro. I'll be making an update video ASAP.
+ Pedro Gonzalez..... Yes, I brought this up with a lady I was studying with about Job celebrating feasts on each one of his childrens special days and she told me that the Hebrew word " day " did not indicate or translate birthday. Huh ???? Does not prove anything !!!!!!
Many translations read it as follows: biblehub.com/job/1-4.htm New International Version His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their BIRTHDAYS, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. World English Bible His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his BIRTHDAY; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them. New Heart English Bible His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his BIRTHDAY; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
I hate when people pull a random verse out of the Bible and use it to support whatever weird power trip they want to go on. If someone reads the Bible and draws conclusions that they shouldn't celebrate their birthday, good for them, but these people suck for holding that over people's heads and shunning them if they don't adhere to some quite literally man-made rules. Celebrating your birthday doesn't hurt anyone, but shunning does, you sick, controlling cultists.
People have to at the very least totally respect you for the critical thinking skills, facts, and just logic that you put into this video. Thanks for sharing I have learned so much!! The birthday lines never made sense! &&HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY🎊🎉🎈🎂🎁🎀🎁🎈🎂
My sister is Jehovah Witness and she judges us because we celebrate Christmas birthdays and Thanksgiving. I myself believe in Jesus Christ he's my personal savior.
Good 4 you, tell your sister it is wrong to judge people, only God can judge, there's nothing wrong with celebrating birthdays, Christmas etc. Some jehovah witnesses do celebrate birthdays,Christmas etc because they want their kids 2 🐝 happy, not depressed,

They remember and celebrate their wedding anniversary, the day they got married. Why wouldn't they remember and be happy about the day their child came into their life?
Hello friend : 1. Birthdays mark the beginning of one's life. 2. Birthdays mean the time one's mother went through pain to deliver him/her into the world. 3. Birthdays mean the countdown to your death. So even though the bible or the encyclopedia Britannica provides unclear reasons about birthdays based on historical accounts as pagan/ungodly celebrations it does give us some logical reasons to think why JWs avoid birthdays.
(4-5 min read) A quick history on myself, I was raised around the truth until I was 10 years old, celebrated birthdays and holidays at home, and also with family relatives at family reunions. Dad is Catholic, Mom became one of Jehovah's Witnesses when I was 2. Was around the truth and active with the congregation through my teens, but never baptized. Stopped attending meetings, played live shows with a band, had a girlfriend, and travelled recreationally. Started studying again at age 20, baptized at 22. However I was disfellowshipped at age 25 and currently still am. Long story short, I understand peoples views from a witness stand, and a non witness stand, and I do my very best to not judge anyone for how they live their life, because really its not up to me. I try to focus on my own life. So no judgement here, but here is another point. Okay, birthdays... Yep, I used to celebrate them, and when I stopped celebrating them, I literally had the same questions as you Kameron. Also, I can relate to you that the answers given to me at a young age where not clear enough for me to fully understand at that time, but birthday celebrations ended anyways. And actually, I still don't to this day. Here is why. Simple question, "what is the origin of birthdays?". All of us can spend 5 minutes on TH-cam or Google and find out what the origins are, we have the world at our fingertips these days with information. As with most celebrations, it comes from ancient Egypt. Pharaohs, who were seen as Deities or Gods where celebrated and worshipped on their day of birth. It was deity worship for people of ancient Egypt who saw their King as a God King. Simply put, it did not originate with God. This is probably why Jews and first century Christians, who reserved their worship for God and God alone, abstained from worshipping a God King, who really was just a man. Later on, ancients Greeks, who celebrated their gods in many different ways, gave homage to Artemis the Lunar goddess by baking moon shaped cakes, and illuminating the cake as the moon does at night, with candles. The lit candles where used to help the Greeks carry their wishes to the Greek goddess after they were blown out and the smoke would rise. This was considered to be a form of mysticism and magic, again something that a Christian would not be apart of in order to remain separate from divination and spiritism. (www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/11/history-of-birthdays_n_4227366.html) Then we come to Germanic peoples who, "In the past it was believed that evil spirits visited people on their birthdays and that, to protect the person whose birthday it was from evil, people must surround the individual and make them merry. Party-goers made noise to scare away evil spirits. In 18th century Germany, the history of candles on cakes can be traced back to Kinderfest, a birthday celebration for children. This tradition also makes use of candles and cakes. German children were taken to an auditorium-like space. There, they were free to celebrate another year in a place where Germans believed that adults protected children from the evil spirits attempting to steal their souls" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_cake) And now it just gets better, Satanists. Not even kidding, lol. "THE highest of all holidays in the Satanic religion is the date of one’s own birth. This is in direct contradiction to the holy of holy days of other religions, which deify a particular god who has been created in an anthropomorphic form of their own image, thereby showing that the ego is not really buried. The Satanist feels: “Why not really be honest and if you are going to create a god in your image, why not create that god as yourself.” Every man is a god if he chooses to recognize himself as one. So, the Satanist celebrates his own birthday as the most important holiday of the year. After all, aren’t you happier about the fact that you were born than you are about the birth of someone you have never even met? Or for that matter, aside from religious holidays, why pay higher tribute to the birthday of a president or to a date in history than we do to the day we were brought into this greatest of all worlds?" (www.cogwriter.com/news/church-history/birthdays-are-highest-holiday-for-satanists/) So, now it comes down the Christians informed decision and conscious matter of how to go about this VERY POPULAR tradition, that of celebrating ones own birthday. And really, with keeping Jehovah and Jesus in the forefront of our thoughts, and try to understand how Jehovah see's Birthday celebrations so that we can approach it as He would, its almost impossible to see a Godly origin here. "The naive* person believes every word, But the shrewd one ponders each step. The wise one is cautious and turns away from evil, But the stupid one is reckless* and overconfident." (Proverbs 14: 15,16). I know you said, "Nowhere in the bible does it say 'Don't celebrate birthdays'", but it doesn't say "Celebrate birthdays" either (Listen, I know how that sounds but, its the same reasoning as saying the latter). Instead it shows us accounts of God Kings murdering people on their day, and even Herod felt obligated to uphold his oaths. Maybe because he was afraid to appear to his subjects that he cannot make a wish come true on the day that he is worshipped? Who really knows. I'll wrap up my point with, its not bad to give a gift, and its not bad to celebrate life, and when our birthday does come it doesn't mean that that day is evil. We can still go about our lives normally as we always do. Choosing to celebrate our own birth in an almost identical way as did Egyptian God Kings, Greek pagan worshippers and Satan worshippers is really the only thing not to do on that day, that's all. I see that you wanted to do research for yourself and to share it with others, nothing wrong with that. But to misinform people who are trying to worship God cleanly on justifying pagan worship is not the way to go about it either. You seem like a smart guy, and I relate to you with growing up and once being apart of Jehovah's organization but keep in mind 1 John 4:1 "Test the inspired statements to see whether they originate with God". Also, for the record, TH-cam comment posts are usually my least favorite place to go to, I try to avoid it like the plague, people are nuts on these things.
Not only that. All that happened over a thousand years ago, when the world was a different place. You cannot punish people alive today because of what happened in different centuries.
Good video Kameron and right on. I also researched on birthdays and came to the same conclusion. What's funny is Rutherford put a ban on so many things and made them "pagan". But notice that he didn't ban drinking and in the US at that time was prohibition!!! Wow, he found a way to get the best alcohol he could from Canada. Rutherford was known to be quite the drunk. And today there is still no ban on drinking. So it's what they, the GB, decides is right or wrong, not what the bible says.
Good point, Terryann, I think that with the passage of time (here we are in 2016) it is easy to forget conditions (prohibition of alcohol) at the time of Rutherford. Funny how there is ALWAYS an exception given for WHATEVER happens in WT world, right?
Thank you for this info. It is really interesting for me because i was forced to disassociate myself after it was reported to the elders that i had celebrated my birthday (someone saw the pics of facebook :) ) I am so glad to have finally realized how we were brainwashed and held captive to man made rules. Thanks again
There are people in that cult who legit abuse kids, and they made you disassociate because you celebrated your freakin' birthday? That is illogical, Spock.
I always asked worldly people how many heads did they chop off on their birthday when they would tell me they had a birthday party. Their face was shocking when they found out why I was asking since they never knew that people were murdered on someone else's birthday.
Well Happy Birthday... over a year later! This is great information very concise, clear, direct, and based on factual evidence! Well done and thanks for putting this together! This is very helpful!
Let's not forget about Pinatas... Remember how bad, evil, pagan THEY use to be? But with WT's blessing, all is well with the Pinata. No one views the Pinata as anything other than fun nowadays. According to Wikipedia: "There is some debate but it appears that their origin is not Spanish but Chinese.[2] The Chinese version was in the shape of a cow or ox and used for the New Year. It was decorated with symbols and colors meant to produce a favorable climate for the coming growing season. It was filled with five types of seeds and then hit with sticks of various colors. After the piñata was broken, the remains were burned and the ashes kept for good luck." When did you ever research about Pinatas? and even if you DID, you could lose ALL your family and friends you have ever known if your research led you to disagree with 8 men in New York. Now THAT is power.
Well I've decided to celebrate my 50th birthday this year, it will be my 1st birthday to be celebrated, I dont know how to go about it, but I'm sick n I feel like I'm dying n want to do happy things for once.. I was born into JW till my late teens but the JW's customs kept me pretty much in a dark place. I wasn't sure I should but listening to u has made it somewhat easier n clearer. Ty..
When I started dancing with Oakland Ballet they started with me about it. I showed the brother's and sisters in the Bible were Miriam the sister of Moses would lead the women in celebration with the circle dance. So after that I studied and became a original cast member in the ballet "Les Noces" from Stravinsky. It had not been performed since 1925. The same time the Organization was formed. HEY go figure. And some of the Witness would come and see me perform in other play's and Musical's. I see other ex Witness experience were worse than mine. I still left.
Lol it was different with the friends I had here. All baptized jws and we celebrated our bdays in secret and we secretly partied at clubs and got drunk. These uptight beliefs will hopefully fade away.
Thank you Keameron Fader Many many many happy Birthdays to you and of course Happy Christmas! - it''s a blessing to remember the blessing of our Saviours birth :) everyday! Sadly the Watchtower like to draw attention to things that aren't there! Or even relevant to scriptural context!
at 8:40, I do not see that last part "and later they presented Jesus with gifts" . i see you also cut away from the bible when "reading" this. where in the bible do you see that line?
Really interesting informative video. I appreciate the effort you put in to include references and explanations. Note on Salome - the usual pronounciation is sal-OH-may, though I don't know what basis in Aramaic this has or whether it's just a traditional English pronounciation.
Wow great video. Just man made rules or beliefs. We christians celebrate Birthdays to thank God for the gift of life. We acknowledge the goodness and faithfulness of God upon one's life. Poor souls they miss so much of their lives. Glad you have woken up this early.
You can "be with Jehovah" and be acknowledged by loved ones that they are happy you were born and love you. There is nothing wrong with it. Nothing in the bible wrong with it. Nothing morally wrong with it. Of all the birthdays I have been to nobody has been beheaded, and nobody has been worshipped. Its ok for people to tell you that you are special, and happy you entered the world and came into their lives. When I celebrate my kids birthday sometimes its just out family, and we always talk about their birth, and what it meant to us as parents, and how on that day we became a family and nothing can ever tear that apart. Yeah......I'm sure Jehovah is furious over that.
Kameron - I am not now nor have I ever been a JW. But I have known several and I have known a few who, like you, have left. I see that they have paid a terrible price for their conviction: dis-fellowshipping and then shunning even by their own families. I wonder if you have had a price to pay. Beyond that, I also see that many former JWs simply do not believe anything anymore. When they gave up the Watchtower, they gave up on everything that had anything to do with Christianity at all. Can you share a bit more of your journey and tell us where that journey has taken your faith?
I'm a Torah-observant Jew, and yes we absolutely celebrate birthdays. Granted, one way in which we celebrate is by giving extra charity and behaving extra pious on that day.
Thanks man you just cleared up something great. I've been studying for quite a few years but never made a dedication. Maybe you could share with me some information about obedience to God or to the organization

Any idea on how many JW's are able to look at any of the web info that states why they should do their own research to find out they are being mislead?
I always wonder this in Job 1:4 states that Jobs sons held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day and they would invite there 3 sisters to eat and drink with them. To me there own day sounds like a birthday wonder what your thought on that is?
They never ever said it was a birthday celebration they were having dinner as a family and they would have it at each other's houses as I do with my family as I'm sure you do with yours it was just dinner it Never says anywhere in the bible that it was a birthday celebration
Birthdays should be celebrated, you have only one life, so why not? You have to be greatful you have the opportunity to experience life of this planet.

I'm surprised they even kept Luke chapter 2 in their train wreck that is the New World Translation.
Johnny Essloe idiot. Eating dinner is a part of our life. Idiot
Watch video shut the hell up
Johnny Essloe u r being sarcastic I’m sure. If it had been a weeding or an anniversary party would those be forbidden? Doubt it. Can’t take a girls wedding or her fancy anniversary party. Jw women go over the top on “their” day.. a little couple worship. But that’s ok. Just not our kids or forbid ourselves a special day.
That is a good question honestly.
youre being idiot sis HAHAHA
Great video Kam. Celebrating ones birthday is thanking God for the life He has given you. Appreciating the day you were born and acknowledging that your life comes from Him.
God indeed knows His children... He calling us one by one from various circles of the world back to Himself.
Thank you Jesus for loving me so much to have called me also
kameron, thanks for your research...i was dfshipped in 2007
i used to be a ''cool older lady''; even in the truth i knew how to laugh and have fun
but now im older and my eyesight is regressing, so thank you very much for doing what not all of us can anymore
I'm young ex-JW too, the JW.org is falling!
Cristão Legendário Two years on....look how close they are to falling now!!
Praise God HE opened your eyes! And happy birthday!
What if the murders happened at a wedding, funeral etc? Would they refuse to celebrate weddings or have funerals nowadays?
Who knows, maybe with the "New Light" that keeps coming in so they can change their doctrine they might ban those too?
Look up 1Samual 18:17-29
David killed 200 Philistines, the price he paid in order to marry Michal, King Saul's daughter.
Some idiots got into a car while drunk and decided to drive, and people were killed. I guess we should ban cars then.
@Kameron Fader
Salome' (Sal-oh-may)was the name you had a bit of trouble pronouncing.
Thanks for the insightful research.
Happy Birthday!
🎁
Amazing job!! Love all your videos :-) :-) I've been needing some clarity on this subject since my b-day is this month as well and I've never celebrated either. You've cleared it all up for me, thank you :-)
Jessica Wyatt Hope you celebrated your birthday.🍰
Have a great b-day Kameron! Great video! I just celebrated my first birthday this year since leaving the org 3 years ago. Had a blast! :)
If I'm totally honest, his dad enjoyed my 21st and it caused him problems at the Kingdom Hall as he was the life and soul of the party and shouldn't have accepted my invitation!
tim spangler - I have !! It's amazing to finally know God' grace .. something I wasn't taught as a JW .
tim spangler Yes. I knew about Grace and mercy before, being raised Catholic, although I never experienced Holy Spirit, which I have on the church that recently found me. Amazing!
I am so happy I found you, thank you so much.
My whole family and I were able to leave together a few years ago and I'm still awkward being around birthdays and Christmas and lots of other things. That fear just doesn't go away
a toaster it will. Just give it time. Do you.
I’m an atheist and I used to be a devoted Christian and I still struggle to let go or not feel guilty for some things. Religion really ruined me. No offense to you though I just thought even if we have different beliefs we can have similar struggles!
Kimberly Enriquez By devoted Christian do you mean a JWs?
So ironic that I see this the day after my birthday. hahaha
Great job. You will give many young people hope.
Im ex jw and the only thing im grateful for from being in that religion is not giving a crap about celebrating my birthday or any holiday
Sameeeee
But thank you for your message
do you really love him? sis hahaha. i mean hows your relationship with him
The break up was worth it because if you two dated and agreed to marriage, your lives will be filled with unstoppable conflicts and that could eventually sever your marriage.
I also love your biblical approach to these subjects, not disrespecting, but reasoning.
NIV BIBLE Job 1 4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them
KJV textus receptus JOB 1:4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses:NOT BIRTHDAY
KJV Matthew 14:6-12 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias dance
Many translations read it as follows:
biblehub.com/job/1-4.htm
New International Version
His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their BIRTHDAYS, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
World English Bible
His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his BIRTHDAY; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
New Heart English Bible
His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his BIRTHDAY; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
I was a Jehovah's witness 30 years and I always celebrated my birthday with my friends and relatives who were not witnesses.
Never followed all the bs from the GB!
Well, Happy Birthday...... Thank you for your testimony. I have studied for over a year and for many reasons, I can not become a JW.
Roberta Lee same. but im still holding on. idk why
Very well thought out and interesting video. Thank you!
But does birthdays not have roots in pagan traditions? and a Pagan sun calender as well being used to count...
Jesus' birth was a celebration. Wiseman came from afar. gifts were laid at His feet. now that's a bday party!
🙌🙌🙌
We are not Jesus.
Theodore White he is talking about the birthday not about Jesus. 🤦🏻♂️
Lovely videos. Refreshing to listen to. No swearing no anger and no criticism of other ex JWs. Just facts, good on ya.
Thanks for all the hard work.
This is my first year celebrating birthday!
Me too
Omg
People have to at the very least totally respect you for the critical thinking skills, facts, and just logic that you put into this video. Thanks for sharing I have learned so much!! The birthday lines never made sense! &&HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY🎊🎉🎈🎂🎁🎀🎁🎈🎂
I left the jw because of the holidays and birthday s
My sister is Jehovah Witness and she judges us because we celebrate Christmas birthdays and Thanksgiving. I myself believe in Jesus Christ he's my personal savior.
Good 4 you, tell your sister it is wrong to judge people, only God can judge, there's nothing wrong with celebrating birthdays, Christmas etc. Some jehovah witnesses do celebrate birthdays,Christmas etc because they want their kids 2 🐝 happy, not depressed,
Enjoyed your Video. Well thought out and very true. I will sum this up. X-Witness, Left the organization in 1998. Witness for 30 years. Young Partaker. Father an elder, rejected, lost all friends, wife also a partaker with a checkered past. Raised her kids. She had unacknowledged issues. Divorced her when I left. Remarried and a much happier person. Recently medically retired from commercial aviation and on SS disability. If I publish I will make sure you get a copy... Padric
Hope you had a very happy first birthday and many more to come! 👍 🎂 🎁 had my first one in my 30’s 😊
Great research! RE: Birthdays..... the Ten Commandments is a great place to go to; Exodus 20.... NO MENTION of a prohibition on birthdays!
Your reasoning is so kindly and logical, I’m sure your vids will help many out of this dangerous cult.
They remember and celebrate their wedding anniversary, the day they got married. Why wouldn't they remember and be happy about the day their child came into their life?
Hello friend :
Loved This!!! Didn't expect to learn so much more on this subject but so glad I did!
today I'm celebrating my 2nd birthday out of the religion and couldn't be happier
(4-5 min read)
A quick history on myself, I was raised around the truth until I was 10 years old, celebrated birthdays and holidays at home, and also with family relatives at family reunions.
(www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/11/history-of-birthdays_n_4227366.html)
Then we come to Germanic peoples who, "In the past it was believed that evil spirits visited people on their birthdays and that, to protect the person whose birthday it was from evil, people must surround the individual and make them merry. Party-goers made noise to scare away evil spirits. In 18th century Germany, the history of candles on cakes can be traced back to Kinderfest, a birthday celebration for children. This tradition also makes use of candles and cakes. German children were taken to an auditorium-like space. There, they were free to celebrate another year in a place where Germans believed that adults protected children from the evil spirits attempting to steal their souls" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_cake)
And now it just gets better, Satanists.
Or for that matter, aside from religious holidays, why pay higher tribute to the birthday of a president or to a date in history than we do to the day we were brought into this greatest of all worlds?" (www.cogwriter.com/news/church-history/birthdays-are-highest-holiday-for-satanists/)
So, now it comes down the Christians informed decision and conscious matter of how to go about this VERY POPULAR tradition, that of celebrating ones own birthday.
Great points made, thank you!!!
Great video and Thank you for sharing.
I have never been to a birthday where someone was hanged. Gimme a break!
Robert Willard same only pinned and it was usually a picture of a donkey
Robert Willard unless it was a piñata
Not only that. All that happened over a thousand years ago, when the world was a different place. You cannot punish people alive today because of what happened in different centuries.
The only murder I've ever seen at a birthday party was all the delicious chocolate cake we put away
Rutherford was a backwoods Missouri lawyer. You cannot trust them. And, yes, he was seriously alcoholic.
Good point, Terryann, I think that with the passage of time (here we are in 2016) it is easy to forget conditions (prohibition of alcohol) at the time of Rutherford. Funny how there is ALWAYS an exception given for WHATEVER happens in WT world, right?
I am not JW never have been. But I find your video's really good I am praying for all JW members the God will open their eyes
Boy! That's why is it a bad idea to post on social media. 😂😂😂Who gives a crap? You enjoyed yourself as long as you dont do anything stupid it's fine.
Well done and have a great birthday. It’s funny as it’s my birthday today and I will be celebrating it even though I’m still current a JW. 😀
I always enjoy celebrating birthdays and holidays. I will never become a Jehovah witnesses because they hate having fun.
I agree they don’t want you to have fun.
God bless you my bro
Love your video! Thanks.
Murder is wrong not the birthday
Happy birthday🎂🎁🎉👑 to you celebrating life a beautiful occasion you deserve blessings and joy😃
Bravo Kameron ! Great Video sweetheart :)
After the piñata was broken, the remains were burned and the ashes kept for good luck."
When did you ever research about Pinatas? and even if you DID, you could lose ALL your family and friends you have ever known if your research led you to disagree with 8 men in New York.
Now THAT is power.
ready2danceagain pinatas arnt bad anymore to jws? Lol.
I hope everyone enjoys their day, in their own way!
I never agreed with no celebrating birthday and Xmas.
Great video... Very informative! Thank you.
If the beheadings took place at someone's wedding, would they not get married too?
Lol it was different with the friends I had here. All baptized jws and we celebrated our bdays in secret and we secretly partied at clubs and got drunk. These uptight beliefs will hopefully fade away.
Great job! I enjoyed your video. Keep up the great work!
Lovely video!!
at 8:40, I do not see that last part "and later they presented Jesus with gifts" . i see you also cut away from the bible when "reading" this. where in the bible do you see that line?
Really interesting informative video. I appreciate the effort you put in to include references and explanations. Note on Salome - the usual pronounciation is sal-OH-may, though I don't know what basis in Aramaic this has or whether it's just a traditional English pronounciation.
Wow great video. Just man made rules or beliefs. We christians celebrate Birthdays to thank God for the gift of life. We acknowledge the goodness and faithfulness of God upon one's life. Poor souls they miss so much of their lives. Glad you have woken up this early.
I'm a Jehovah's witnesses I don't celebrate my birthday it is rlly sad
Ashmy Cordis but arent u enjoying being with jehovah?. cant u see the blessings that u received?
@@danm4817past away immediately x
Helpful! Thanks man
Kameron - I am not now nor have I ever been a JW.
John Kelly Would have liked to have heard a reply to your question.
I left the jw becuase of birthdays
Why did you join knowing what they believe
I hope you had a good birthday!!
Wonderful vídeo. I hope you don’t mind if I refer to this video if I ever do a story of my own. And happy birthday 🎉🎁🎂
The birthday thing was one thing I didn’t understand as a child. So I let people still achokowledge mine
I'm a Torah-observant Jew, and yes we absolutely celebrate birthdays. Granted, one way in which we celebrate is by giving extra charity and behaving extra pious on that day.
Excellent video!
Thanks man you just cleared up something great. I've been studying for quite a few years but never made a dedication. Maybe you could share with me some information about obedience to God or to the organization
My Regional convention Do not give up is tomorrow through Sunday, well that is where I give up!!! It would be the last convention I'd attend. Please reach out to me because it's definitely not going to be easy for me but I am determined to do this.
Nicely explained!🙌👍
PAULO===BRAZIL====Very well presented!
very informative
i agree
hi
to my knowledge the tendency of us sinner is to rely on our own understanding so let us watch out for the devil trick and follow tbe LORD example on earth.
i my self fail all the time so i need HIS GRACE
let us worship HIM according to HIS will which is SPIRIT and TRUTH (John 4:23 24) not flesh and lies (the way of the world) Gbu
But apparently someone read something to me that said the pagans believed that spirits appeared at the birthday parties. So maybe that's it
Any idea on how many JW's are able to look at any of the web info that states why they should do their own research to find out they are being mislead?
I always wonder this in Job 1:4 states that Jobs sons held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day and they would invite there 3 sisters to eat and drink with them. To me there own day sounds like a birthday wonder what your thought on that is?
They never ever said it was a birthday celebration they were having dinner as a family and they would have it at each other's houses as I do with my family as I'm sure you do with yours it was just dinner it Never says anywhere in the bible that it was a birthday celebration
Paula Jay Would you not consider that your own day could be your birthday? What other day could possibly not be your birthday?
Birthdays should be celebrated, you have only one life, so why not? You have to be greatful you have the opportunity to experience life of this planet.
Such a GOOD video! Very clearly makes you think...which is the point, right?! I celebrate my birthday and have every year Ive been out of the org...😊😋
