Ten minutes out of the package and already in exploded view on the bench. I love it! You're the AvE of airguns Nibs! You better watch out or you'll find yourself in business - Nibs Custom Airgun Triggers!

Great how-to video! 🙂 I found the exact springs at my local True Value Hardware (Manchester, NH).

I already had the Buckmark and really like it. I just bought the Mark IV and was disappointed in the weight of the trigger compared to the Buckmark's. I hoped that there was a video on YT that addressed improving the trigger and I found yours, so thank you so much for taking the time to make the content. I was ready to jump in and do the work on my Mark IV's trigger until I watched this video. Now I think I'll wait until you go back into your Ruger and, I'm guessing, remove some parts that are creating unwanted resistance in the other trigger parts. Hope you get to it soon and are willing to share your results. Good luck. BTW, Harbor Freight and American Science and Surplus sell spring kits that have proven very handy for me to keep on hand for those moments when I decide to tear my brand new stuff up. Would pay for itself in a hurry at today's gas prices. LOL

I did remove one other part from the mark 4 that wasn’t in the buckmark. I will try to remember to do an update video soon. It did make a big difference in the feel of the trigger.

Do you happen to remember the size of the spring you switched to? diameter, length, diameter size of wire? Thanks. ( I know this was a long time ago, but if you can help it's greatly appreciated.)

I don't think I actually knew even back then. I litterally took the spring from the gun and went to the local farm store and found a lighter spring with the same diameter. sorry I couldn't be more help

I called John at Umarex in Service. He is having me ship the gun back to him and he will take care of it for me. So he doesn't want me to replace the spring is the gist of what I got. Also the safety was floppy and that needed to be fixed.

Decided to pull the trigger on this one. Looks like a cool target gun that is accurate and requires no Co2. And that’s always nice 👍 Good price too, thanks for all the videos man! Keep them coming!!! Great channel!!!

The sear catch on the piston in my Buckmark is horribly burred and is definitely causing some issues with the trigger pull. How did you smooth it down on your Mark IV replica? I assume the polishing wheel wasn't enough?

Any suggestions on where I can pick up a lighter spring??

I have a 1377 and an extra trigger spring...
    What is my best option?:
#1 pinch the spring as much as I can hoping it will get "softer"
#2 cut some coils while hoping the end ive cutted wont mess it up
#3 Stop hoping you need an other spring
    Interesting share for sure!

Not sure how the mechanism works in the 1377. So I can’t really comment on the best approach for that

I'm getting ready to tear my Daisy 35 down and work on the trigger. Its pretty accurate for a smoothbore but I know it could be better if the trigger wasn't so bad.

I like the gun. Seen a video just now claimed it was a 8-10 pound trigger? I admit it's a tougher pull than I'm used to.This may be my first MOD Perhaps when my Dad or Son comes over we can do that. I put a cheap $18 laser on it. At 33 feet from target the thing is solid. And it's quieter than the Crosman Vigilante.

    • @WalnutandSteel

The triggers on these and the Ruger mk4 are hit or miss, some can have ok triggers (4 lbs or so) and others horrible (8-10)

great video, thank you, please could I ask what length spring you fitted, I need to get a spring in from China so need to order the approx. length my metric size is 0.5mm 7mm OD, just need to know what length you used so I can order the correct size with flat facings.

    • @WalnutandSteel

The spring I used was actually around 2.5” long but I cut it in half to use in two different guns

So, ended up having to get a pack of springs in from China, still cost next to nothing though.
All I did was change the spring and clean the resin cast from round the trigger area, made sure that the sear piece was grease free at the sides so it couldn't 'stick'.
It feels like a different machine now. Just trying to find a set of rings that will allow me to fit a RD, or may have to drill out the weaver rail to fit a cheap Chinese RM07 clone (30mm pitch instead of the 22mm.
