I'd love to see a version of this that takes itself more seriously. Except for the parts that are obviously just caricatures of Jazz and Djent, this is legitimately *good* . I love this kind of joke music that isn't *just* a joke.
It’s just alternating between segments of a simple jazz progression and Djenting the same progression in half time by playing 0s on the downbeats and playing metal riffs and chords instead of jazz riffs and chords in the space that’s left.
Well I think it would be fun to analyse this using theory but I can imagine they wouldn't have necessarily written it with theory itself - music theory in my opinion should be treated like a scientific theory, where observations are made and that's how the theory develops - not having the theory first, then making music through it…but yeah nah I love this video 😂

I love the section that starts around 1:30. I see lots of bands being thrown around as comparisons but one of my favourites is NinjaSpy
i can't stop replaying the first 5 seconds, brilliant lol
Mr. Bungle?
claudio marino haha DUDE yes. This is like a Travolta outtake
claudio marino spot on
Damn, i miss them
looking for this comment hahahaha
Holy fuck why didn’t I think of this lmao
Mr. Bungle perfected this art form.
Brian W fuck yeah. If you like them try; Igorrr, Mr creepo, stolen babies, and corpo-mente
Brian W Mr Bungle is awesome, this is just garbage
Mr. Bungle perfected it then Twelve Foot Ninja made it better...
Ironstien 147 love twelve foot ninja did you know bär McKinnon, from Mr Bungle, played on one of twelve foot ninjas early releases.
Brownsworthy ok. I didn't know that. Is he related to Damon?
i know this was a joke but it actually kinda slaps
It's a pretty good djoke
Yeah I think I like both jazz and djent now
Such djentlemen
@@criminal8768 almost choked on my fries reading that
This is why comedy is a fucking art form.
This is absolutely wonderful and I demand more. Finally, some jazz I can get behind. Very representative of how my mind works.
0:50 I like this shot so much😂😂
Metal jazz
I'd love to see a version of this that takes itself more seriously. Except for the parts that are obviously just caricatures of Jazz and Djent, this is legitimately *good* . I love this kind of joke music that isn't *just* a joke.
Dillinger Escape Plan, The Callous Daoboys, maybe Mr. Bungle in a way, etc.
@@MyoticTesseract Mr Bungle is so good
@@MyoticTesseract not exactly jazz but fits the vibe: Diablo Swing Orchestra
Listen to wildfire by periphery
Not as much djenty, but Thank You Scientist is a sick find I recently discovered, highly recommend you check them out!
This song is a perfect representation of me scrolling through a mixed djent/jazz playlist on Spotify looking for something to listen to
shut up
I'll never forget this amazing toon, please do another!!!
Be sure too toon in next weak!
Its really hard to comprehend how much of a musical masterpiece this truly is. In an unironic sense. Like honestly alot of music theory behind this.
On a rhythm standpoint, sure. However the harmony behind it is pretty simple.
It’s just alternating between segments of a simple jazz progression and Djenting the same progression in half time by playing 0s on the downbeats and playing metal riffs and chords instead of jazz riffs and chords in the space that’s left.
Well I think it would be fun to analyse this using theory but I can imagine they wouldn't have necessarily written it with theory itself - music theory in my opinion should be treated like a scientific theory, where observations are made and that's how the theory develops - not having the theory first, then making music through it…but yeah nah I love this video 😂
not really it's just the same minor 7 chord being played chromatically and some scale runs and chugs on the 0
essentially 0 jazz harmony going on
@@kellyt6110 To be fair, you can make the most complicated music in the world sound really simple when you word it like that :^)
Oh cool dillinger escape plan got back together.
I was gonna say Mike Patton
@@BastardOfTheNorth well they literally did an EP together.
Which Mr Bungle song is this?
Exactly

Sounds like something off of California
carry stress in the jaw
Kinda sounds like disco v.
This is basically MateFeedKillRepeat, Slipknot's first ever album with Golsefni on the vocals. Crazy experimental album, worth checking ✔️
