I’m glad you liked the song! It’s always been one of my favorite underrated Eminem songs. There’s lines like “isn’t that us on that poster?” where the album cover is Eminem with drugs and the overall message. He’s calling to Shady, because the argument is that drugs fuel Shady
By far the best breakdown of this song I've seen. You're quick Knox. It's always great to see the pieces coming together and being more understood as the song continues. Appreciate your commentary as well.

I love the creative side to relapse, it's so deep. Knox as always fantastic breakdown. This album is surprising even Knox. I love this album, just like the way I love revival album as we can see Eminem on that album take it to another technical level. Can't wait until the next reaction!
My son got me into this song when he was 11 years old. He was so proud of himself for being able to rap it word for word. I decided to listen to it and it's been easily one of my favorites ever since. That was over 10 year's ago. Em, is an untouchable lyricist, the way he can switch flows, twists and bends word's with ease just blows my mind. So glad you broke down this song!
Knox, it's always great to support a hip-hop head like you that is both a good rapper and someone that really understands all the nuances of a rap. 👍💪🔥
Out of all his songs this one had always been my number one favorite song by Eminem. The conscious fighting back and forth, his syllables and of course his cadence to the rhythms and flow. No other song by him gave me as much goosebumps as this song did when I first heard it. Thanks for breaking this song down brotha. Been waiting for someone to break this song down. Was shocked so many Eminem Fans either never heard this song before or did but how can you not have. You ain’t no Stan if this song isn’t in ur top fav Eminem songs
This is one of Em's most amazing song, absolutely love your break down on this one. I gotta also add that seeing you having "Dad time" with one of your girls was the best part of the video for me because that was how I always wished my own dad acted, but instead I got an asshole of a father instead of a dad. In my eyes you are the BEST DAD in the world! Thanks for not cutting that out
He said: “so at night before i sleep, i look in the mirror, the mirror grows lips and it whispers “come here”” Underrated lines as it sounds like its an actual horror movie script. Its the precision in the story telling.
I appreciate when youtubers let real life interrupt you. Your daughter needs to talk to you, talk to her. Dont matter what youre doing. Dont even cut it out. Respect man.
Amazing breakdown as always. Please do breakdown for "Legacy" from MMLP2! That's when Eminem sticks to the one single cadence throughout the WHOLE song! Won't stop telling you until you do that:). Best wishes from Kazakhstan🇰🇿!
This video was great, Knox, as always. I would love to see your masterful analysis on some songs in the MMLP2. I’ve been listening to that album more recently and there are really some underrated treasures in there. Anyway, if you do ever see this, have a great day Knox.
Dunno if you will read this, but the "devil" represents the drug addiction. This line "Isn't that us on that poster" explains that, since it's on Relapse and the album poster had Eminem's face drawn out of pills.
Yeah, they woke a giant up, so, when I get back on my feet, don't wonder why in the fuck is my head in the clouds... man he loves to go back. Cant believe i missed this song over the years. As always thanks knox!
It’s amazing coming back to this song after The Death of Slim Shady. This must have been his second shot trying to get rid of Shady. And now the third shot happens in Guilty Conscience 2… Eminem is a genius!
the voice being addiction definitely fits as the whole album was a metaphor for him to express and exercise his demons (addictions) and move on to Recovery
😆 and you just happen to skip over the part where this song is literally about demon possession, selling his soul, accepting the demon that got him his record deal etc.
@@abdan7262 I always thought that the demon was depression! ,Re listen to track, marshals back story made him fight to the top, but to stay there ,he had to lose Kim and Prof, get knocked down, to fight back up again ! Plus a bit concerning that dre is the dr that wants shady back and has the medication to feed, shady
I looove this track! One of my favorites! I always took the demonic voice as being fame or the rap game in general, because he didn't sell his soul to Shady, he "sold his soul" to the game. Haven't finished the video yet so I'm eager to see what you make of it:)
Em is a genius bro, always loved his music since recovery (that's when I first found him when I was about 12). He's become my favorite artist, not just rapper but artist ever. Dude is insanely talented, I hope I get to meet him one day, of even go to a concert if he ever does another one.

The “GOAT” reviewing the one and only throw back Eminem, he still is the king in my book. Knox you have the best interpretation to each beat and a great ear. Much respect, will always stand with you brother! Your music is off the chain as well, it has meaning and purpose! Peace!
I feel like every album he put out minus a few songs that definitely didn't fit professional are masterpieces. Relapse has such an interesting horrorcore play to his album. My Darling feels like slim is coddling Em and knows he will fail if he touched any drugs and alcohol again. Slim being one of the way he was able to break out as a star. Em took back over and had to redo how he raps and resist the old ways. His demons on his back trying to convince him that without the drugs, he will never be great enough. It is an interesting play on his characters. Slim is technically a serial killer of the rap game if you want to give it a different spin on the song. So slim fits in this album with the theme
Such an amazing song, one of his best for sure. Love your reactions especially the Em ones, you are the BEST Eminem reactor out there, you break his songs down so well, respect 🙏
dude, your breakdowns are the best! I really hope Eminem sees your breakdowns - it's the best kinda homage to all the hardwork he puts into his lyrics and delivery. You make love his songs that I love a 100 times more!
Great breakdown as always, incredible writing/performance by Em. Relapse was amazing, sad he was in such a bad place mentally during that period, but it opened up levels of genius that can't be recreated
One of my favorite aspects of this track is that it goes all the way back to the The Slim Shady EP with references. The demonic voice in this one is similar to the one used to represent Shady in the EP Intro. The EP Intro also has him shattering a mirror while talking to a demonic voice through it. In this one the demonic voice begins by saying "Shady" while in the EP Intro the demonic voice begins by saying "Eminem." Hell, the underlying concept between this song and the EP Intro is very similar overall.
dre is a giant in the rap game, and in say what you say, he uses a line about being a giant compared to others especially when he dissed jermaine dupri with "And I'm a giant, and I ain't gotta move 'til I'm provoked"...
SHADY is the voice, talking to Eminem, but calling him shady.. calling him by his “true name” The name the voice wants him to cling to. So he can come out of the “reflection” back into EM.
It's already been said below but the demonic voice is a little thing called Addiction, trying to coax the slim shady persona out of Marshall who had worked so hard to suppress by staying clean. This song is on a level of artistry that nobody has ever matched, the entire album is a horrorcore masterpiece, it could be a movie.
Wow is all I can thank u for breaking that down u know this is one of my favorite songs and never looked at it to the fullest degree as u did. Never seen ALL the levels of the song till now.thanks man love the song even more now

The amount of layers to this song is absolutely insane. I've listened to this song for years and I missed so much the whole time... the production, how the lyrics tie together through the hole song. The 123 line, and where he says "and it g-g-g goes" flip the gs upside down they become 666, Mind blowing for sure
Knox congrats on No More Sheep 🔥🔥 Just watched your Latest reaction (My Darling) as always you Nailed it . More Relapse breakdowns, would very much be appreciated. Love the way you do these breakdowns . Educating the world Thankyou 🔥👏🏼👌🏼
I've always seen this song as a sort of bookmark to the old Shady era alongside the intro track to the Slim Shady EP, "Intro (Slim Shady)" To me, "Intro (Slim Shady)" was the birth of Shady, demonic voice and all, while this track was the "attempted" death of the Shady persona
Great job on this & really appreciate the attention to detail on the production as you made me hear things I missed for years. Look at the time when he say 123….. keep up the superb work
Bubba Sawyer also is the name of the serial killer from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, therefore adding an extra layer of metaphors to the rap correlating the chainsaw with slim the serial killer and bubba the rapper

Thank you for always pointing out the subtleties.
FINALLY, AFTER SO MANY YEARS SOMEONE APPRECIATE THIS SONG. 🤷🏻♀️
*I love, how he reference FIGHT CLUB* in this song. 💖💖💖
Knox, you are Necessary. This track was a lot of fun, but now it feels much deeper.
dre is a giant in the rap game, and in say what you say, he uses a line about being a giant compared to others especially when he dissed jermaine dupri with "And I'm a giant, and I ain't gotta move 'til I'm provoked"...
One of em most underrated song . 🔥🔥
Yes! I have been waiting so long for a great reaction to this song!! Thanks Knox! Well done!!
This is a perspective of him and drugs as well. Any addict will be able to relate to this song and it's got hella different meanings. Bless up.
Jesus Christ that...123... amazing Knox!!!!!
This song is one of my favorites by Eminem. Every time I hear it I get lost in it. I replay it over and over again. Thanks Knox. Great breakdown.
SHADY is the voice, talking to Eminem, but calling him shady.. calling him by his “true name”
The name the voice wants him to cling to.
I think this track might be Top 5 Em ever. It’s so deep with doubles and triples a plenty, you did very well as usual
Wow is all I can thank u for breaking that down u know this is one of my favorite songs and never looked at it to the fullest degree as u did. Never seen ALL the levels of the song till now.thanks man love the song even more now

@KNOXHILL LOL I KNEW YOUR MIND WOULD BE BLOWN... GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS
Damn Knox, the way you break down everything with such precision and knowledge is second to none! Your reactions are the best, "bar" none! And your music is greatness too...you got a fan for life here, bro!
Dude you killed this analysis. I loved it.
The amount of layers to this song is absolutely insane. I've listened to this song for years and I missed so much the whole time... the production, how the lyrics tie together through the hole song. The 123 line, and where he says "and it g-g-g goes" flip the gs upside down they become 666, Mind blowing for sure
Knox murdering these intros!!!!!!!!
Thus is my favorite song by em tbh. He is on some different shit here for sure.
You need to do Evil Twin. A great take on the split personality
Knox congrats on
No More Sheep 🔥🔥
Just watched your
Latest reaction (My Darling) as always you Nailed it .
More Relapse breakdowns, would very much be appreciated.
Love the way you do these breakdowns .
Educating the world
Thankyou 🔥👏🏼👌🏼
I've always seen this song as a sort of bookmark to the old Shady era alongside the intro track to the Slim Shady EP, "Intro (Slim Shady)"
To me, "Intro (Slim Shady)" was the birth of Shady, demonic voice and all, while this track was the "attempted" death of the Shady persona
Great job on this & really appreciate the attention to detail on the production as you made me hear things I missed for years. Look at the time when he say 123….. keep up the superb work
YESSSS! Been waiting for this track for a long time too. Shoutout to you, man. Hoping you reach that 1M soon. One of the best!
Bubba Sawyer also is the name of the serial killer from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series, therefore adding an extra layer of metaphors to the rap correlating the chainsaw with slim the serial killer and bubba the rapper
honestly this is one of my fav song of all times it's just amazing
8:10 I just wanted to touch on the way you say EMBLEM as 2 syllables, and at 8:15 he bends the world into like 3 syllables, it's one of my favorite word bends!
I’m glad you’re catching up on Relapse… it’s one of my personal top 3 favorite Em albums
Hell yea! Finally Knox has done the song I've been requesting for months now! I love it! Thanks Knox Hill!
Talk about a bit of sunshine on this rainy work day. Looking forward to this one, thank you Knox!
This song and your reaction literally made me see why the album is REFILL! 🤯
Love your reactions, especially the Eminem ones. I would love to see a Business from The Eminem Show Reaction, it’s my brothers favorite song.
Love this song. Glad to see it on here.
“Giants woke! Eyes open, Undeniable supplying smoke got the fire stoked!
