I've have the green dial (SPB245J1), I asked my AD to get me the bracelet of the SPB241. This is my favourite watch I own. I fully believe this watch can be anyone's 'Forever Watch'. I've worn mine with a suit at a wedding, with a t-shirt in Italy, with my camping gear in Wales and it fits for every occasion. I want mine to last as long as possible so I don't ware it all the time but if I had to wear only one watch for the rest of my life so far my Alpinist will be the one.
Great review of a beautiful watch. I own the gray/black dial version and while it is one of the least expensive watches in my collection, it is also one of the most versatile.
I wore it, had to chose between this one and a cocktail, and i can definitely tell on the wrist, it is descrete and class while looking just a bit old. Very comfrtable on wrist, i almos regret not chosing it, i swear. It is clearly worth its 700$, with sapphire crystals and 20 bar water resistance.
I own this watch with the "mystic forest" dial. I absolutely love it!!! However, the movement is definitely lacking... I lose at least 30 seconds a day, which is extremely frustrating.
Good review. Very nice watch, I have this one incoming next week, I am very much looking forward to it. I also own the grey/brownish one (SPB243J1) which is also a stunner. The green SPB245J1 does not do anything to me, too common in the Alpinist line. By the way, I think you better wear the watch on the handside of you knuckle (at 7:15), so the crown does not touch your hand with certain moves, and it looks better on the wrist.
Thanks a lot Paul. How have you found the 243J1? I’ve eyed that one up a few times. Hope you’re enjoying the 241. I must admit I’ve since sold mine to fund other watches and do have immense sellers regret. This crazy hobby of ours. 😅
one thing I can not figure out is Seiko and other watch brands have left women out completely. The watch sizes are just to big for most women. The other thing is why can't we get a solid back instead of the see through back?
Sí. Tengo el SPB243 desde agosto, el de color gris antracita, y puedo confirmar que el lumen dura toda la noche. A veces me despierto de madrugada y puedo ver la hora con facilidad.
Agreed. I love Seiko but there is always one feature in the product that is so off it’s hard to ignore. Doesn’t stop me from purchasing their watches though. Maybe it’s people like me who stop the brand from caring. Haha.
@@Thewatchera1You are right. Except the clasp everything is great on the watch. I also think that this alpinist is 10 times better looking and more iconic than the new one (with the numbers on the dial and the cyclops lense)
Seiko watches a far too expensive for what they are. A company taking the micky out of customers. Micro brands are better value and have better build quality.
Great looking watch but is the worst Seiko Ive ever owned. First year owning -2 minutes per day. Took it to AD who recalibrated it under the guarantee. 4 months on running -60 seconds per day. Seiko QC is a joke.. the 6R35 movement terrible.

This is on my list to get next. Thank you for doing a great review.

An 'Explorer' in every sense WITHOUT being a homage or the ridiculous price. More water resistance too.
That is absolutely beautiful, the colour is so nice and it has all the hallmarks of the original but a little more modern.
Hi thanks for the comments. I have to agree with those. Spot on! 👍🏽
Great watch and great review! Thank you so much for sharing your perspective with us. 😊

Hi there. Thanks for your thoughts. I agree with those comments although the cocktail watches are great too! 👍🏾
Hi there Léopold. Great comments, although the cocktail times are great watches too! 😁

Great review thank you 🙏
Probably looks way better in person. The indices play nice with the light like the dial and markers. I have the SPB259J1
Just purchased and waiting on shipping
Good choice Tom! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have! 👍🏾

Does the lume stay visible whole night?!

The only thing that bothers me is the huge gap in the clasp. Why seiko?

Looks big & banal on your wrist & average at best for an uninitiated eyes!
