The 77s weren't speed demons like the previous ones but has a very nice styled body, very comfortable, handled decently, and had enough power for the interstates. Love these things. This is a great car here. Not many left. Sure wish they made these still - exactly the same - no retro crap.

I owned one for 4 years back in the lates 80's driving all over the US & Canada. It ran like a dream, only items changed were the battery and oil. Man wish i'd kept it.

Yes, this was a great car. Sad thing was, I couldn't find a buyer in the US for it. But a guy in Norway sure liked it and stepped up price-wise. Over the years I've found that there are a lot of Mopar fans in the Scandinavian countries.

Had a ‘76 Royal Monaco, 2 door hardtop, 360 engine, powder blue, dark blue full vinyl top, white leather-like vinyl seats. It was not the Brouham as you had here. The car could do 110 mph without hesitation and cruise at 80 85 mph all day if I let it. Actually figured out the gas mileage on a drove to Ottawa and cruised at that speed all the way,. It worked out to about 25 mpg however that was to an imperial gallon, not the smaller U.S gallon. The tiny little white box on the firewall, it is a ballistic resistor. Something I think any Chrysler owner from the period would probably be familiar with as it could fail anytime without any warning. I always had a spare one in the glove compartment. Cheap insurance for a buck ninety nine! Cheers🍻🇨🇦🇺🇸👍

That's why Chrysler had to be bailed out. They had no small cars of their own, just rebadged Mitsubishi's, until they brought the Horizon over from their French division (which they promptly sold due to their financial situation in the late 70's.)

Hello. I own a 1977 dodge royal monaco (it's a base model. But it starts every day, even when it's negative degrees) and is my daily driver which I absolutely love as much I love my grandson. I am running into the issue of not being able to find parts. For example, the driver side door handle broke and I can't find a replacement part around town or on eBay. Also, the motor which flips the headlights is no longer working and can not find a part. Do you have any suggestions or can you steer me in the right direction. Thank you for your time.

I’m pretty sure if you tboned a Kia with this it would tear the Kia open like a sardine can. As long as you’re wearing a seatbelt in this tank you’d fare pretty well in an accident. Road deaths were more common back then because nobody wore seatbelts and drunk driving was fairly commonplace and there weren’t many consequences unless someone was killed or severely injured. If you were stopped back then the cops would usually just drive you home.
