I feel that "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell is a really good read. Even though its a romance novel there are a lot of things one can learn from it.
Homo Sapiens: Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari. I had just finished the book. It's so provocative and raises so many questions about human history. I highly recommend this book for anyone with interest in history, psychology and culture.
I read some of these books! Thank you, Alux, I will read more from your recommendation list. 1) Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind - great book, highly recommend! 2) The Subtle Art of not Giving a F*ck - also cool! 3) Factfulness - I am going to read. 4) Business Adventures - thank you for the recommendation, it caught my eye. 5) Peter Pan - yeah! 6) Elon Musk And some books I have read this year 1) Hit Refresh Satya Nadella 2) Richard Branson The Virgin Way and Finding My Virginity. 3) Accursed Kings by Maurice Druon - a bit complex. It tells how people of different social class lived in 14th century. Tells about mistakes France made, so it lead to disastrous defeats during the beginning of the Hundreds Years War. 4) The Little Prince - one of my favorite. 5) Henry Ford My life and my achievements. I am still behind of Bill Gates, I read only 30 books per year. I hope to catch up!

Captain thanks for the book recommendations. School has always made reading and learning a chore but now that I graduated this year I love reading and learning.
"Captain".... i am a teenager and i love alux ....the books i recently stumbled upon, which are worth reading are "Into the Magic Shop: A Neurosurgeon's Quest to Discover the Mysteries of the Brain and the Secrets of the Heart by James R. Doty " , "like a flowing river by Paulo Coelho" and "When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi"
Captain! Love the video and I can’t wait to put these on my to read list! A few books that I would suggest to read is Siddhartha by Herman Hess, It really talks about the journey and how other people might feel about your success or your failure along the way. It’s a short book but a slow read at parts. I also recommend Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Sailing Alone Around the World by Joshua Slocum, Travels with Charley by Steinbeck. Keep up the good work!!!
Captain !! I can’t wait to pick up some of these recommendations :) and even re-read ones I haven’t read in YEARS! Alchemist remains one of my favorites! A couple “non business” books I would recommend for your next list: - Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach - Conversations with God - Neal Donald Walsh (surprisingly not a religious book) but eye opening - Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
Captain!!! Sapiens is a real go to book in my opinion. My recommendations are: -Brave New World -Sophies world Forgot the writers but the books are great, and not that hard to read. Good luck aluxers!
I own and have read several of these books. Have loved them all. Time to add more to my collection of good books. I’m looking forward to another list. One author I really enjoy reading is Michio Kaku. Now his books may not be to everyone’s liking, but they are very educational. His writing is in layman’s terms so you can understand science. I found if I read only a few pages at a time it won’t be overwhelming. “The God Equation” is good one to start with. It’s about science not religion. Newton, Einstein etc are all explained
Captain! ⚓️⛵️👑 Some of my favorite books are: - And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie ( her best book( make a vid about her); 😉 - An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir (a sf love novel, i think it competes with GoT to the number of dying characters) - Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes ( is about an interesting experiment and it is going very deep in the human nature)( soul > mind); I think that 3 are enaugh. I really recomand them and I wish you to read and enjoy them. If do you like them please put them in the next vid. In that way all aluxers can know about them. See ya! 😁✌🏼❤️
1. “Triggerfish Twist” by Tim Dorsey 2. “Give War a Chance” by P.J. O’Rourke 3. “Saint” by Ted Dekker 4. “The Only Pirate at the Party” by Lindsey Stirling 5. “Empire of the Summer Moon” by S.C. Gwynne
I think it would be incredible to do a second part to this video. I would recommend "The Art of Learning" by Josh Waitzkin. He was an international chess champion in his youth and a T'ai Chi Push Hands World Champion at a very young age and he tells his journey of growing and learning to be the best, and tells you how you can learn something to the absolute highest level that you can.
Captain! 1. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R Covey 2. The Road Less Travelled by Peck M Scott 3. The Power of Habits by Charles Duhigg 4. Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter 5. The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman Etc. :)
Amazing video Alux as per usual - I adored reading the Alchemist and have recommended it to practically everyone. This list is absolutely fabulous because anybody can find one book from the list that can change their lives! I certainly look forward to reading Outliers and recommend my fellow aluxers to read Robert Greene - The art of seduction 😄
But this video is not about business books. Here are two lists for you! th-cam.com/video/Dk9mcJtIuCs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/lUBpuXxSLD8/w-d-xo.html
Recommended Fiction Books: CATCH 22 - Joseph Heller The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde Great Expectations - Charles Dickens Ulysses - James Joyce War and Peace- Leo Tolstoy The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
As an avid reader, I found this video immensely fascinating. Many of the titles sound interesting and I am definitely going to read as many books as I can. What was most surprising to me about this video was that I have been eyeing the first book since months but couldn't buy it for some reason. Now that Alux has recommended it, it's going to be on my table. One more thing- "Captain".
*CAPTAIN* "Shoe Dog" is also an amazing book by the founder of Nike Inc. I am currently reading "Sapiens" currently and will read "Enlightenment Now" next. Also, I found this list extremely helpful even though I had many of them in my reading list already, I found new motivation to read them.
Captain, here are my book recs: 1. Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World - Jack Weatherford 2. Frankenstein - Mary Shelley 3. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance - Robert Pirsig
Captain. Just finished 7 Habits today, thinking about the next book and I come across this video. And I get a free audiobook!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE!!!!!
#Captain!, and as book recommendation i will guess you to read 'BHAGWAT GEETA AS IT IS' not as a religional book but as to understand different aspects of life from past to future and to know that how it can clear your all doubts in life including BUSINESS.
This year, 2021 is the seven hundred anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri [1265 - 1321], statesman, poet, linguist and philosopher who was in love with Beatrice Portinari [1265 - 1290] who accompanied him in his poem, The Divine Comedy, but he was arranged married to someone else. Dante certainly had a good vocabulary. The Divine Comedy commentaries hardly ever emphasise heaven, Il Paradiso. This third part of the Divine Comedy will be my Christmas reading. The Divine Comedy is the story of the love of Dante and Beatrice.
Great list!!! I own and have read most of these and it made me want to read them again. I was instantly thrilled you included Dr. Peterson. I fall more madly in love with this channel everyday- keep up the WONDERFUL content!
Captain! My favorite books for the last five years are: The Making of Modern Japan by Marius B. Jansen, Breakthrough INC by Herb Rubenstein and Tony Grundy, The Grid by Phillip F. Shewe, Games Primates Play by Dario Maestripieri, The Obstacle is The Way by Ryan Holiday, and for 2018, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare.
Captain...Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore, Anam Cara, by John O'Donahue, Mapa of the Imagination, Peter Turchi, The Art of Being You, John Kilpatrick, Walking on Water, by Madeleine L'Engle, My Family,& Other Animals, by Gerald Durrell, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox,& the Horse, by Charlie Mackesy.
Here is an excerpt from an interview:Here the person talks about mahabharath "The stories, relationships, dynamics of power, philosophies, thoughts, political, ethical and moral positions, and the questions it raises about life, the world and our relationship with it have amazed me, intrigued me, discomforted me and made me more curious about life"
I must say, it’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to watch an Alux video...and I am delighted to say it did not disappoint. It was like coming home. 💚📚🧡📚
Love how this channel about success & successful living consistently advocates reading..Direct correlation w/ successful people-tho better to buy books/audio, all u *need’s a library card!!
DAN BROWN IS MY GO TO!!!! Origin had me THINKING and questioning life in such a way that fucked me up AND left me slightly intrigued for days after i was done.
Captain…I listened to the audiobook version of number 3 about Elon Musk. Vance did a great job. This is a well written book and I couldn’t stop listening. I think I even found it because of Alux. It was mentioned in a different video. Thanks Alux.
Please add Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Prisoner’s Dilemma by William Poundstone for insights into genetic engineering and game theory respectively. Love hearing your videos with my daughter and of course Captain !
The Alchemist is the best..... You should also mention "Tuesdays with Morrie" the book is amazing. I cant stop thinking about it ever since i started reading it.
Captain. Books Recommendation- Bhagwat Geeta. Beyond the last blue mountain-R.M. Lala My Transportation for life- V.D. Savarkar The Sherhah of Kargil-Deppak Surana
Captain! These books seems very interesting. I've read most of Dan Brown's and will make it include in my plan to read Origin soon. I also love The Alchemist. I also like 11 minutes by Paolo Coelho and Tuesday's with Morrie. There's a book that's well recommended by a friend that I haven't finished yet, Notes from the Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky which might also interest you and include in your next reading list.
Alux, is reading books on your laptop on kindle cloud reader good? I understand paperback books are better for eyes, comprehension, and having that physical feel, but does reading on your laptop really make that big of a difference that rereading in paper it is necessary?
This Video is Awesome ... I would Like To Suggest My All Time Favorite Books .. 1) Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography 2) How to win friends and influence people (by Dale Carnegie) 3) Crushing It (By Gary )
Speaker for the Dead, Orsen Scott Card. The second book after Enders Game & NOT just for kids. It will make even more sense if you’ve read Enders Game, the movie was OK but it really glossed over some of the more subtle points. Captain.
Aye aye Captain. Lol. As a child, I read the novel "101 Dalmatians" before I saw the movie, as usual, movies do not give the novel justice. As an adult I like "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and "The Great Barrier Reef: History, Science, and Culture". The first segment of the book reads something like that of the movies "Pirates of the Caribbean".
Captive. please share your experiences with us in a video. basically what kind of struggles and stratagies to overcome them. by the way thanks for the video.
captain, the book i believe everyone should read that im almost done reading now is, Braving the wilderness the quest for true belonging and the courage to stand alone by Brene Brown, this is a must read for everyone i believe and we all need what she is saying in this book i hope you will read it and enjoy it like i am.
Hey.. nice video...thanks.... CAPTAIN... : ) I don't actually read much books...but I've always wanted to read one for the upcoming holidays...so if you could suggest a book from your list... which would you suggest for a beginner level reader like me?
Love this list by the way! Two of the books I’ve already read. Now to add the others to my list! Speaking of George Orwell, another book I read around the same time I read Animal Farm, was The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. It’s a classic read but I think still a good book to read.
Captain I recommend The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. It's an older book and a children's book, but it has a lot of good life lessons about how one views the world. It's one of my absolute favorites. Although, there's no audiobook version that I'm aware of. It's better to read the book, in my opinion, due to the magnificent illustrations.
Hey Alux, first of all thank you for all the videos. I learn a lot from your uploads. Second I would like to suggest two books that I really enjoyed reading. 1. The Monk who sold his Ferrari. 2. Creativity the perfect crime. Third thing...CAPTAIN!
I've read No 4,6,8,10,11,14 and thanks for thr recommendations.. In part 2 please include Lord Of Flies by William Golding, A sailor who fell from grace with the sea by Yukio Mashima, The setting sun by Osamu Dazai, Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin by same author.. Hope you read and include
Mahabharath, i know this is one of the two main scriptures in sanskrit, written thousands of years ago. But this is still relevant for today's generation.Mahabharata covers every aspect of human life. It covers realities of life. It covers the human frailties, shows character flaws, highlights follies of the great and good of society. Mahabharata looks at the world as it really is. It exposes the unalloyed realities of life. Mahabharata is not fuzzy, soft or built on sandcastles of idealism. Ideas of “universal love”, “unconditional forgiveness”, “fraternity of humanity” etc are great principles, grand ideals, but more often than not, we find that they do not exist in real life. Mahabharata explores people’s search for this idealism and how they fare. It is in simple terms a mirror. Every time you read it you see a different detail that you failed to notice before. Dealing with treating women properly to transgenders and polygamy. This book serms more relevant than ever before !
On the Peter Pan Point, you guys should reference Dr. Jordan Peterson. Those are his exact words from his lectures on Maps of Meaning. Recommending Peter Pan its self is still a brilliant idea though.
You guys, you really have to read THE NAME OF THE WIND.... yes, its a fanatasy book, but it is awesome... the boy lost his family, he went to the univesity to acomplish one of the greates dreams read 10 000 books (kind of). The title of the second part it is stunning The Wise Man's Fear
Captain ! The Code of an Extraordinary Mind by Vishen Lakhiani; The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle;Leonardo da Vinci by Walter Isaacson;Total Freedom by Jiddu Krishnamurti
Captain! And I would like to recommend to you the book 'Gifts Differing' by Isabelle Briggs-Meyers. It deals with the human personalities and in which ways they explain our characteristics and our actions.
Business Adventure looks great to me..I need to buy this book along with Factfulness. Thankyou Alux really appreciated❤️. You've became my priority now
Captain, "She Got Up Off the Couch: And Other Heroic Acts from Mooreland, Indiana" by Haven Kimmel and "Tales of the City" a series of nine novels written by Armistead Maupin
Captain! My own 10 recommendations are: Talk like TED: The 9 Public Speaking Secrets of the World's Top Minds - Carmine Gallo God Is Not Great - Christopher Hitchens Think: Why You Should Question Everything - Guy P. Harrison You Are A Badass - Jen Sincero Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended On It - Chris Voss Atlus Shrugged - Ayn Rand The Analetcs / Daodejing / Zhuangzi / Mengzi / Tao Te Ching - all of them are filled with Chinese wisdom A Capitalist in North Korea - Felix Abt Alibaba - Duncan Clark Politics and the English Language - George Orwell
Captain Ram chandra series by amish is a good read,it explains the effectiveness of different types of societies and their drawbacks,as well as it puts the reader in deep contemplation, but it may be a difficult read for non-indians.
Captain!! I recommend - the best life money can't buy by Andy Deering, I know it doesn't sound like what a future billionaire wants to read but its more about the priorities in life

Definitely a part 2 please...cannot think of a favorite book off hand.
Did you read all the books already?!...
I'm so proud to be an Aluxer.
Please keep up the good work!
Captain!! I always love watching your book recommnedation videos. I'm getting them all!!

Captain
I would just like to take this time to thank you Alux. I really appreciate your work. Once again, thank you.
Aye Aye Captain! One of my all time favorite books is Ender's Game. As a summer read, it's entertaining and inspirational.
We enjoyed it as well
Speaker for the Dead, Orsen Scott Card.
The second book after Enders Game & NOT just for kids. It will make even more sense if you’ve read Enders Game, the movie was OK but it really glossed over some of the more subtle points.
Captain.
My all time favorite is Sapiens. Since you already include it, i would like to suggest my next favorite 'Third Plate' by Dan Barber
I would love to see more motivation videos. Maybe do two a week. They are the best!
Captain.
Always subliminal messages to be learned, must read between the lines. Thank you Alux your content is always inspiring.
Captive. please share your experiences with us in a video. basically what kind of struggles and stratagies to overcome them. by the way thanks for the video.
Digital fortress by Dan Brown and Namesake and Interpreter of Maladies (a collection of short stories) by Jhumpa Lahiri are a must read
Captain.
Excellent . I follow your recommendations keenly n have started to understand your videos from these books. Thumbs up Alexers.
I always recommend "the way of the peaceful warrior" and "Black Elk Speaks"
We'll check both out Ediie, which one do you recommend more?
Its hard to say but I think for your channel, probably "The Way of The Peaceful Warrior" both books are possibly life changing.

Hey.. nice video...thanks....
CAPTAIN... : )
I don't actually read much books...but I've always wanted to read one for the upcoming holidays...so if you could suggest a book from your list... which would you suggest for a beginner level reader like me?
Love this list by the way! Two of the books I’ve already read. Now to add the others to my list! Speaking of George Orwell, another book I read around the same time I read Animal Farm, was The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. It’s a classic read but I think still a good book to read.
Captain
I recommend The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster.
Captain a children's book I would recommend is The Whipping Boy by Sid Fleischman. This one book completely changed my childhood.
