I knew it. The DNF was gonna be a problem for that type of finish. In real life that would still be a full race finish but the game can't "realize" that. I admit i laughed at your reaction, but after, i felt the hurt. That was a big ouch.
The worst part about it is, that even if you happen to DNF before the start finish line on the last lap with (like in this case) Kyle Busch already having crossed the line, effectively winning the race, the game will simulate the race ALL OVER again... not giving you the correct results in the end. In your example, Brad Keselowski got the W, instead of Busch who clearly should've gotten it. You also finished last, even though 2 drivers before you DNF'd + you clearly slid accross the finish line after your wreck. This game is a steaming pile of garbage as it stands currently. I'm pretty sure it will stay like that indefinitely. Disappointing to think of, that these guys hold the license for another few years. R.I.P. NASCAR Games 2008-20xx

In my career mode, in the cup series, in the first two races I DNF’d. And then I swept both stages and swept the weekend as I won the xfinity and the cup race and auto club. I got 5th and 19th in the previous xfinity races

This game is a joke with the AI's, you can barely touch them and they react 3 seconds later to the contact by easily getting loose in the turns.
You can adjust the AI's ability to lose control in the settings. It helped me

then you dont get many green flag runs, too frequent the cautions. theres no middle ground option.
Relaxed caution existed in heat 4 idk if they do in 5 but yeah

Austin Titus For some reason I haven’t had issues with the strict yellows giving too many cautions. I typically run the 25% races and maybe get 3 on average per race. It seems to balance out. I also don’t ram every car like our boy here haha. I like it because when people do spin they will throw the flag. I could not stand the relaxed yellow. That’s just been my experience though.

In Nascar Thunder, you could bust your gas tank and as long as you crossed the line, you finished where you were running. This is ridiculous. That'd be like Stenhouse finishing last in that Xfinity race where he blows up off 4 and Carl Edward's runs into the back of him at the line. Unacceptable
You pulled an Aric Almirola from this past talladega race except he actually placed third.

I think the game is confused now because the spotter and other drivers think that it was a good finish but the scoring didn't count.

I bought the game cuz of the cover athlete and I still haven’t opened it
well... he did have damage multiple times (despite partial repairs) before he went head on in the wall unfortunately... im not 100% sure if it was the game with a dnf glitch or just his bad timing to wreck.
