    I can relate to your post. I live in Colden NY and have been using a Deere 320G with a 72” blower from QuickAttach for several years. Much better than a tractor in terms of comfort, power and safety. This past storm we had in WNY was the ultimate test. Over 70” of wet heavy snow. My driveway is 750 feet long.
    One suggestion: these machine should be run at relatively high RPM’s to keep the diesel particulate filter (DPF) clean. Replacing them is expensive.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don…ugh you are right I have to run it at full throttle also ti drive the blower. I am disappointed with the blower but I was not running at full throttle. I love the machine I have to learn how to use. I hope you’re okay you have a great machine. Your advise is appreciated thank you 😊

      @@maraudermitchelli This is my second skidsteer. I bought my first one (a Deere 320E) from the guy that put my driveway in 5 years ago. It only had 120 hours on it. I used that machine for about 2 years and started getting error codes in the user interface. 5 Star Equipment is located near me and their tech rep diagnosed it as a plugged DPF. I was guilty of running the machine at fairly low RPMs when using it during the warmer months. (I built several large stone retaining walls with it, using limestone that once graced the 'bear pits' at the Buffalo Zoo). Replacing the DPF was an expensive repair....about $2700.
      I do have problems with the blower clogging if I run it at lower RPM's or if the snow is wet and heavy (like the last few days). It's a tedious process to get the blower unclogged by hand. My solution this weekend was to pull the machine into the garage and go down the chute and the over auger with a hose running hot water, and that worked well, as I have both hot/cold running water in my garage. The whole process was not ideal, but the snow we had was unusual to say the least.
      You have a good solution for snow removal. Sorry for the lengthy reply!!

      @@dongibbons7826 Why are you running it at low RPM with heavy wet snow? Your solution to not clogging is high RPM. I'm curious how everyone is liking the Quick Attach equipment??

    • @dongibbons7826
      @dongibbons7826 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RockyMtnWay_406 Lance - my earlier suggestion to Pete was to run his machine at high RPMs. Snow will move through the blower better and he can avoid future issues with the DPF in his Bobcat.
      The QuickAttach blower has been very reliable over the 5 years I have used it. The only modification I have made - which Pete may want to consider - is to replace the steel skid shoes (if his unit uses them) with poly shoes to help preserve his asphalt driveway sealer.

  • @DaveScottADV
    @DaveScottADV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The snowblower is cool, but you should try a small'ish pusher box. With a little practice, you'd be able to knock your driveway out in minutes. You might even be able to rent one locally just to try it out.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RR I thought the same thing. My JD 5090M tractor at work has a 12 foot pusher and it does a great job checkout the videos from last year. I do like the neatness of blowing snow. Thank you

    • @rcguymike
      @rcguymike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can always use the pusher until you either get a huge dumping or you decide to do cleanup, you can purposely leave the snow close and stacked high near the edges and then have at it the next time the blower is needed! That's a beast of a machine you have now did you have a reason for changing? (Feel free to send a link if you already talk about this elsewhere)

      Ruben I miss my tractor...you know it. I'm surprised it didn't throw snow farther but this was extremely wet and heavy snow. The slowness is due to my inexperience, this machine is extremely powerful. Thank you for commenting.

  • @ElkCreekAcres
    @ElkCreekAcres 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good video sir!!
    I know the speed will come with experience, quite disappointed in the the throwing distance of that blower. I am subjected to lake effect and nor’easter snowfalls, I know wet snow doesn’t throw as far, but it should throw it farther than it did.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I would have thought this snowblower would do a better job at blowing wet snow. How much clearance is there between the impeller and the blower housing? If it is more than 1/8" then installing a snowblower impeller kit will make a world of difference.

    • @maraudermitchelli
      @maraudermitchelli  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bwillan...I agree with you. I'll check the clearance. it's definitely not a power issue. This was very heavy and wet snow. let's see if things improve.

    • @rcguymike
      @rcguymike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the impellers on the skids steers are smaller, throwing distance is all about tip speed, it would be interesting to see the comparison of the impeller tip speeds if you have the specs handy, there should be online calculators you can drop the numbers into

    Hey Peter, nice machine that my thoughts I think the John Deere did much better. It seems like when you try to blow the snow it doesn’t blow it that far my John Deere throws it like no tomorrow. I love my tractor. Great video nice machine it seems like you have to make multiple passes. With it it’s not scraping right down to the ground like it supposed to plus when you’re blowing snow it’s like it’s not pulling it into the blower. You’ll have to look at your video but it’s always a pleasure to watch you. Good job.👍

      Aaron I read your message. The sound for the drone video is picked up through my old phone which is the screen for the remote control. If you watch the video closely you can see the wood tray I have the phone mounted on. I'm going to put a piece of foam between the wood and the remote and see if that helps dampen the sound. Then maybe use a newer phone for the remote screen and audio. There is definable more hydro noise in the cat cab, also the engine runs at 500 rpm higher...she's a monster. Never hesitate to leave a comment that's a helpful suggest. Your comment. is extremely thoughtful and I will try to make improvements. Stay warm and much thank yous!
