    Whats not mentioned is that this rig is between $90,000 and $120,000 new to buy. The average person could hire a contractor to plow snow for many, many years and not spend near that amount. Fun to watch, but out of reach for many.

      Who gives a rats ass what it costs. He’s not trying to sell you one. Look at all the private aircraft videos, some costing up to 4 mil. They’re not trying to sell you one either. Suck it up dude, don’t chirp this guy just because you’re living in your 20 year old Honda.

      It all depends on the hydraulics. Oftentimes a large percentage of power is lost through hydraulics compared to a shaft driven blower.

    IF you know you can not secure the equipment out of the elements, use a protective insert for the couplings and cover them with a plastic bag and or a tarp with a bunch of bungee cords.
    It will prevent ice from freezing in the couplings and lines.
    Try and spray down the augur, empower and chute with something slippery like WD-40 or silicone. I haven't tried it yet, I hear the new stuff for the cars is good also. I can't remember the name of it and want to say ceramic wax. There may be something even better...

    • @VikingShipExplorer
      @VikingShipExplorer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Cadaverine1990 That's what I did. I can't afford something like this, and even a tractor and blower is out of reach with only a few years left till retirement. So I put a 6 foot Frontier blower on a truck and put an engine in the box to run the blower. It's all PTO driven and throws snow 60 feet. Cost was around $6,500.00 tax in. It's strictly a dedicated snow removal machine and works very well on my 1/4 mile acreage road with our Saskatchewan winters. A tractor would have been nice and would get more use out of it, but $$$ in the bank, dictate what toys you get to have.

      Snowblower is the SB32x74 and plow is the 96” bobcat v plow. Use both fairly equally. Use the plow early season more when the ground is still soft and there are lots of rocks on our gravel driveway then blower we use more mid season when all the white fluffy snow comes and the ground is nice and frozen. Kinda need both. They are both very capable. Haha we need all the snow we can get! Lots of snowmobile trails around us.

    Good morning Jordan,
    I know you have the trolls commenting here so I’m not going down that whole!!!
    One thing I would like to ask you is, … what size orbit motor did they install on this blower??? It probably is a Char Lynn motor but there should be a nine digit number on the tag. Many times the dealer unloads whatever they have on the lot and it’s not correctly matched with your machine. I say this because that blower should be able to throw the snow a good 45 feet!!! I know this was a lot of snow and anything is better than a shovel!!! Lol
    I ran into this issue with my snowblower and it is costly to swap out the motors. For me it was $1,300 just for the motor to be placed on the counter!!! Those toolcats are a nice unit but extremely expensive to repair so if you are using this commercially, … keep that in mind!!! I seen guy’s snap of the casting on the boom where it attaches to the plate from pushing snow with a blade and hitting things!!!
    Great video and I wish you well!!!
    Art

    It always seems like the impeller is undersized on hydraulic snowblowers. The auger seems to push the snow out front rather than draw it into the impeller which spills snow over the side, the machine doesn't seem to struggle much. I'd guess my rear 3pt blower on a tractor could go about the same speed, throw the snow much further and have hardly any spill out the side. What's the diameter and RPM on the impeller? Still beats shoveling or a plow truck 😁

    Nature doesn't have bad weather -
    Every weather is a grace.
    Rain or snow - any time of the year
    We must accept it gratefully.
    Echoes of spiritual bad weather,
    There is a seal in the heart of loneliness,
    And insomnia sorrowful shoots
    We should gratefully accept,
    We must accept it gratefully.
    Death of desires, years and adversity -
    Every day the luggage becomes more and more unbearable.
    What is assigned to you by nature,
    You should gratefully accept.
    Change of years, sunsets and sunrises
    And the last grace of love,
    As well as the date of your departure,
    You should gratefully accept,
    We must accept it gratefully.
    Nature doesn't have bad weather,
    The course of time cannot be stopped.
    The autumn of life, like the autumn of the year,
    Must be blessed without sorrow.
    It is necessary, without grieving, to bless,

    Very cool, but for that much money it should come with a flunkie to hook it up so you don't get cold or wet.

      Actually, you’re correct when I bought the thing I put down 10,000 and the rest was a loan that was the longest five years for something that only gets used when it snows , if I had half a brain , I should have bought a condo in Texas and rented it and I would have been passive income , I knew I made that mistake on the first loan payment was due ! but seeing that I work six days a week 10 hours a day for the last 42 I recovered ,you should see my Asv, RT 75 at least this machine makes its money back tenfold that’s why I love to go to work , the kids that went to college. They’re the rich kids. If you hang around people that work in the trades you two will be rich with the knowledge of repair it’s the best job security in the world impossible to get fired and you will still have work in a depression. That’s how my family got through the last one and the one before that , my grandfather’s quote , get to work and quit crying.

    This is all light and fluffy snow. How does it do with wet snow? that's the real question

    • @BigBodyPresence
      @BigBodyPresence  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No snowblower really does well in super wet snow in my opinion. If it’s super wet we will switch to the plow usually.

    Doesn't seem to be throwing very far. Rpms not up? I've seen push blowers throwing further...

    • @BigBodyPresence
      @BigBodyPresence  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah rpms are up. All depends on how wet the snow is. In this video It may be hard to tell but it was getting a solid 30-40ft in horizontal distance away from the machine.

    • @billthompson8182
      @billthompson8182 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BigBodyPresence I can see that. Wet or not, it's still not far for such a big machine.
      How many horsepower is it? Could it be hindered by the hydraulic flow rate?

    • @BigBodyPresence
      @BigBodyPresence  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @billthompson8182 61 HP with high flow 27.9 gal/min hydraulics. Hydraulic blower is great for us because you can lift it up to full height (8 feet ish) and chisel away at snowbanks and what not. We had a PTO blower on our last bobcat and it was significantly worse than this hydraulic blower.

    If they would just add a cylinder where that linkage is so you can push yourself out with the bucket when stuck. That is the real downside to these machines. The bucket doesn't tip forward much over center.

    • @BigBodyPresence
      @BigBodyPresence  ปีที่แล้ว

      Got it semi stuck once last weekend with the v plow and was able to use the folding of the v plow to push it out. But yeah your right the bucket doesn’t tip forward too far
