Thank you! We were back and forth on the same decision. Many people use and love the sheets, but this was super easy and is working out really well so far.
@@EncompassAdventure Can I ask what brand of flooring you used? I'm looking at home depot "LifeProof" planks but they say only temps from 0 - 140 degrees.
Floor looks great! Excellent step-by-step description, too. I’m wondering, now that you’ve had it in a while how it is holding up. Any buckling, or movement? Did you screw down your cabinets, wheel well boxes and other fixtures through the floor?
Looks like you installed cabinets on top of the planks. I was just reading that you should not attach cabinets through the planks because it can cause damage and buckling. What has been your experience so far?
Hi there, we have not installed any cabinets yet. But we do have a really solid floor frame and subfloor underneath the vinyl floor planks. Hope this helps. 😊
Great video. One question - do you have any issue with the laminate flooring when it is raining (when you are opening and closing the sliding and back door) ...do you have keep the floor dry all the time?
Thanks so much for watching! To answer your question, we actually got waterproof vinyl plank flooring. So we should be fine if it gets wet. Not sure what the water resistance is with laminate but they also have "water resistant" vinyl and we made sure to get "waterproof". We're also going to put stair edging on the corners to protect/hide the raw edges. Hope this helps! 😊
It definitely works for some people, which is awesome. :) We want it to feel really homey and will need to attach cabinets and shower walls to the wall and insulate, so the thin plastic wouldn't cut it for us. We did go a little too thick on the floor framing though and would go thinner if we had to do it again but it will work.
Austin Powers reference. Great video, thanks for sharing. My next step is laying my flooring. Hope it looks as good as yours
Looks good. Starting on my Van floor soon. Thanks

Great work guys!
Nice job. Looks great. I think I'll be using planks instead of the sheets after seeing this.

@@EncompassAdventure No need to glue any part of it? What keeps it down?
@@timchan1783 we didn't glue any of it. It's a floating system which also allows it to flex with the van a little.
@@timchan1783 the planks interlock too which holds them together and we will be putting cabinets on top but it stays put as is.

Just perfect! What brand vinyl plank flooring did you use for this video?
Hello! Sorry i know this video is a little older but I was just wondering what was the purposed for the spacers?
That SNAP!
Haha the safety glasses snap? Also, hi one half of our #1 fans! Love and miss you two! 🥰
@@EncompassAdventure haha yes! That was great! We love and miss you too!! 😘
What brand vinyl plank flooring did you use for this video? So beautiful!
How did it hold up a year later? Lots of ppl say plank forms gaps in vans
Would laying the floor at 90 degrees have made the van appear wider?
Thats what I would have done.
I found your video confusing
I’m using the method explained by TH-cam channel; Dares Drives

Have you had any issues with the flooring buckling?
Sorry just saw the other post that asked that question
Pretty cool van , keep making content, I have a youtube channel as well, nice stuff
Hey, thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it. We'll have to check your channel out. :) Keep making content as well!
FOR ME, the standard floor would have been fine. Same with the walls.
