Thanks for noticing! As a crocheter too, I find the continental method of knitting feels (almost) like crochet with how the yarn is held and how stitches are made. I can do the "throwing" method in knitting too, but continental is more like crocheting to me.
As the only bi-stitchual in my friend group.....if the pattern calls for a crochet or provisional (that is a crochet cast-on with a different color scrap yarn that you pull out later to create live stitches to be picked up later)cast-on, I get to cast it on for everybody. 😂 Also, if you bring the working yarn forwards before you put that final stitch from the crochet hook onto the knitting needle, the edge of your first row will look neater!
That is sooo awesome! I'm an avid and well seasoned crocheter who constantly fails at knitting. 😂 Anything to make the process easier is so welcomed! Thanks for this! 😊👍
I decided to try to learn crochet and knitting at the same time (big mistake) and found out crochet is easier for me to learn. Now that I'm confident with crocheting, now I'm teaching myself how to knit and OH MY GOD, this is so easy, thank. You.
😮❤ OMG 😱😱😱 thank you so very much for the video. I almost for real gave up with the idea of knitting ever ,I'm a crocheter but I wanted to knit stuff like my late mother did but I can't get the first 2 foundation rows to be snug on the needle. Now my desire for knitting is recindaled thanks again
Hi, Natzazia. Thanks fir showing, as a beginner knitter i use the long tail cast on alot but this is really a good alternative. Marvelous, simply marvelous 😊, thank you for sharing. 😊😊❤.
Thanks, love the edging🙏💞 I love to crochet but I think I have a serious problem. I get cramps on my index finger, no problem with knitting. Thanks again.
The majority of issues with knitting is the casting on and then trying to knit the next row with 2 needles. This cast on method, especially if you crochet, makes those 2 things about knitting much easier.
We have the EXACT same nails rn 😮. Darker at the base fading to light with glitter lol in the same shape. That's crazy. I just have a rose on my ring finger
The crochet cast on is the equivalent of the traditional knitted long-tail cast-on, make purl wise. With this in mind, some people consider the traditional long-tail cast-on as an actual row, and some do not. In my experience it depends upon the pattern.
I accidentally found a video that showed a cast on using needle and hook and wrapping aroung both then around crochet hook before pulling through. Do you know this technique?
You are amazing, you make my knitting a lot more easier, I crochet but am very interested in knitting too...thank you for sharing, your Rock 🎸
Thank you so much!
Gente eu nao entendo inglês mais a forma que ela faz com calma e bem feito. Que eu consigo entender oq ela esta passando para nós em seus videos ❤
What a great method! I keep watching cast on methods and feel like I’m all thumbs. This makes so much sense. I can do this!
I love this method of casting on. 🥰🥰 She’s using continental knitting, too. I have yet to learn that efficiently. 😔

OMG..this is awesome 👌 🎉
Terrific tip! Will give it a try. I’ve tried knitting in the past but could not get the hang of the two needles.

hi, thank you so much for this video! does a crochet cast-on count as one or two rows of knitting?
The crochet cast on is the equivalent of the traditional knitted long-tail cast-on, make purl wise. With this in mind, some people consider the traditional long-tail cast-on as an actual row, and some do not. In my experience it depends upon the pattern.
