Welcome to the immense talent displayed by Band-Maid in "Onset" They are a musical phenomenon!!!!!!
Band-Maid has several excellent instrumental songs if you haven't already done them. "Without Holding Back", "From Now On", "Giovanni", and "Don't be Long" are great examples! These songs are put in to give Saiki a vocal break. EVH smiles everytime "Onset" is played!
She credited him for that when he died.
They could easily go toe to toe with the great 70's fusion bands. In all of their instrumentals, they just cut loose and really show what they can do. Thanks for checking this out.
One of the very few songs that isn't in 4/4, but 5/4 as you say. Akane's drum rhythms can often be misheard, especially when she changes tempo frequently, uses polyrhythms or syncopation (she can do all that in a few bars!) but they're all in 4/4 when you have a good listen.
Yeah, she sometimes goes all patternless on you!

Thanks for the reaction and comments. These ladies are FIRE!!!!! What's truly insane is that they played with very little lighting, if at all, smoke, strobing lights and lasers. But then again, it's Band-Maid. They probably could have played just as easily blindfolded. Looking forward to your next reaction video. Cheers!

one of those few bands that can't write a bad song ever....I adore this band
The time signature goes to 5/4 time for a few bars, then back to 4/4. I think they also add a beat in a different part of the song. (They do that a lot just to mess with you and I love that kind of stuff)
They became a legend, after I heard this song (and the "Manners"). This is a great example of "perfect" songwriting. Kanami, who is tapping that Paul Reed Smith, is defined as a genius.
I believe it's 5/4 time signature.

Great reaction and their instrumentals are very good. These are a couple of others that are just as good or better: "From now on" (my favorite - it has an official video), "Without holding back", "Don't be long", "Hand Wash" (a PSA on washing you hands correctly that they put out during the pandemic), and one other that I can't recall right now. Yup. 5/4. Rush fans quickly recognize things like that. It’s actually quite rare. I’m not sure of Kanami writing anything else in 5/4?

This was the first song I had ever heard by Band-Maid. It was my introduction to the wonderful world of Jrock and Jmetal.
Loved watching your reactions Master R&RR. Seeing the pure joy on your face as the song moved along is why I love watching reactors. To see others appreciate and thoroughly enjoying what they are hearing for the first time, make me flash back to listening to these songs for the first time and imagining my facial expressions were probably the same. They are like a great sports team. Anyone of them is capable of carrying the team, making a great pass to a teammate or taking the winning shot!
The secondary guitar line you hear is actually a backing track, also played and recorded bij Kanami. For the longest time I thought Miku was playing that, until someone with a better ear pointed out that Miku is playing something else entirely on her rythm guitar.
I thought I was the only one who didn't see anyone playing that part. I hear it when Kanami is playing the tapping part.
It's in 4/4 mostly, but that one (or 2) sections go into 5/4 for for a few measures.
