The river where the young girl was mauled is close to the opening of the sea, poor girl saw a pod of dolphins and she jumped in to swim with the dolphins and a shark was amongst them and she died later.
Why, did she get bitten and lost blood? Or did the shark eat her? Sad. You should always know where there are dolphins, it is MUCH MORE LIKELY that sharks will be around.
Another great video Ryan! I have a video suggestion for you: John Farnham's you're the voice. An absolute Aussie classic and probably one of the best singers in the world. ( Edit: I've done some research and all you need to do to not get your video get taken down is to reduce your video quality enough and TH-cam doesn't care👍)
I'm guessing you may be new to TH-cam where fun things like music gets a copyright strike, but yes, that would be awesome John Farnham was a massive part of our lives back in the 80's, I'll never forget the elation of my Mum after seeing him in concert 😇
Bull sharks are often considered to be the most dangerous sharks to humans because of their aggressive tendencies and ability to migrate up rivers. Bull sharks can survive in both saltwater and freshwater, and have been known to frequent the lake. Reports last December of anglers catching nearly 100 bull sharks a week in rivers and canals in the state of Queensland, immediately north of New South Wales. Peace out.
There was a tragic loss of a young girl on Stradbroke Island . She was attacked by Bull sharks in the shallow water close to the beach several years ago . The young Girl killed in WA. Is a devastating tragedy.
Bull sharks live in estuaries and bays and the Swan River where the girl died is an estuarine river. Sharks usually avoid dolphins though, but bull sharks are pretty aggresive.
Evandale Lake is just down the road from me and I remember when this happened. It's a salt water lake. Man made and conected to the sea via rivers and canals. There is netting to stop sharks getting in but somehow this crafty bugger made it through
You are right Ryan it was Saturday afternoon 16 year old girl was pulled from swan river fremantle area with serious injuries to her leg, unfortunately She passed away at the scene due to the injuries, it was probably a bull shark as they frequently get into the swan river, all of it

Yeah that attack happened right near my work I drive over freo traffic bridge everyday, damn sad.........poor girl. Bull sharks can survive in fresh or salt water btw and they are aggressive, that's what makes them scarier than any of the other sharks down here.
I love Karl… he is provocative… some love him some not so much. I had the pleasure of doing some Today shows with him and he is a laugh a minute, genuine and generous! Sylvia you asked about is Karl’s sister inlaw. She is a gorgeous lovely soul. She is married to Peter Karl’s brother who has also done the Today show and is also a great Journo. bull sharks are known to travel up stream into rivers and occasionally there are attacks, not sure how they would go in a fresh water lake ? The Duck got tangled in the fishing line, it should be fine...

That happened in Perth Ryan - a 16 year old girl saw a pod of dolphins and decided to jump off her jet ski and swim with them - that’s when the bull shark got her and she unfortunately died. First fatal attack in 100 years but bull sharks frequently swim in the river.
Georges River in Sydney has bull sharks 40km upstream from the ocean and they are only stopped due to the weir that they can't get over at Liverpool. They have full adapted to fresh water which is crazy. This isn't a big river either especially that far inland. They are caught often and people's dogs get taken whilst swimming in there more often than we would like.
Lol, he's regarded, as Lisa is, a joke. He's as far from a bogan as you can get. He's a rich, entitled, unfunny clown. BOGANS ,wouldn't be caught dead with that trie hard yuppy.
She was on a jet ski but saw river dolphins or seals and wanted to swim with them, so she jumped off and swam with them. Of course they are food for a bull shark, you get many around, creates a lot of water sound/ splashing and a shark attacked. There is many bull sharks in the Canning and Swan Rivers. This was in Fremantle which is a port city with both river and ocean waters. So she was bitten and didn't survive.
From memory I think the bull shark has special blood that stores salt making it able to live in brackish water at the mouths of rivers and potentially much further upstream.
We lived on Moggill creek of the Brisbane river . The water is brackish it was said that there were mud sharks in the creek. We were told never to swim where the river meets the sea for that reason . A shocking tragedy for the poor Girl and her family .
Karl reacted to the term, "muff". Which is what the handwarmer thing is called. It has also in the past been used as a slang word for the female genitals.
Bull sharks are extremely common in all types of water. Salt, fresh and brackish. Not uncommon for fishers etc to catch bull sharks upstream in rivers etc. It was likely a Bull shark that mauled the young girl in the Swan River in Perth.

Bull sharks inhabit salt, fresh, and brackish waters. They're also quite aggressive sharks.
Bull Shark sightings have been reported in rivers up to 60km inland.

The Gold Cost has a lot of canals that are connected to the ocean. So from time to there are sharks found there.
