I like to grind a tomatoes up in a food mill, store in a mason jar in the refrigerator and drink a tomato juice. But I'm going to give this idea try next time I make spaghetti or ravioli.
What is your opinion on using this method on cherry/grape tomatoes? I have an old fashioned hand cranked mill (circa 1950) and a ton of grape tomatoes. My first batch not remembering I had the mill, I oven roasted them with a little olive oil then immersion blended them and put them in a sieve pressing them with a wooden spoon over a pot. That was a lot of work, a lot of time but was successful. Do you think this will speed me up or am I doomed with grape tomatoes?😊
This is what I would think is the right way. I keep reading bizarre instructions to boil tomatoes for hours for instance then strain which makes no sense to me if the purpose is to prevent the bitter taste seeds impart.
Finally a no thrills, yet useable video on how to do this. What you covered in one minute takes most other bozo channels 45 minutes.
Use seeds and skin to make tomato powder in dehydrator
Un-Fluffed Pure Cookery Yay !

Just to be clear,, the food mill removes seeds and skin or grinds them up?

I just used with small tomatoes that were boiled for 5 minutes, worked like a charm. Much easier than I expected-it was my first time.
Finally somebody on this cursed site takes the seeds and skins out of their tomato sauce
I think u mean soup you clown 😂

Where can I get such a food mill? The prices were very ridiculous on online sites along with unreasonable shipping charges.
Walmart. 25 dollars.
Oxo Food Mill on Amazon, $48.
I take it you used the blade with the smallest holes to trap the seeds.
Yes, i would love that answer also!
The problem is I’m using san marzanos which are meant to be chunky
@@StanderdSolution You can blanche the San Marzanos too, if you want to use the mill. I would quarter them, blanche then mill.
Don't put it on the compost! You'll have tomatoes growing everywhere
You say that like it’s a bad thing!
Like me 😡
