    Well. 2024. I bought this pan from Walmart. It would not hold my 12 lb turkey with the lid on. I tried it with and without the vegetables and the lid was 2 inches from closing. Instead , I covered and sealed it with foil. My turkey was dry as usual but it did cook in only 2 hours. One lady states that she was able to cook a 15 lb but I dont know how. I will say the quality of the pan is excellent. Do not buy the Amazon knock off brand. Walmart was actually less in price for this name brand. Sorry it was sold and went to Mexico.

    Rookies need to know you must cook the food first. If I'm wrong, show me. I wouldn't even put grapes through here without cooking them first. Whole plum tomatoes need 10 minutes in boiling water then run through the mill, skins and all.

    I like to grind a tomatoes up in a food mill, store in a mason jar in the refrigerator and drink a tomato juice. But I'm going to give this idea try next time I make spaghetti or ravioli.

    • @Jayman1329
      @Jayman1329 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't HAVE to pre boil the water, its literally chefs choice and what you are more comfortable with, I also bring them up to boiling from cold, some say boiling the water first creates more consistency but I feel like it comes out the same. Just my opinion tho.

    This is what I would think is the right way. I keep reading bizarre instructions to boil tomatoes for hours for instance then strain which makes no sense to me if the purpose is to prevent the bitter taste seeds impart.

    This video was great! I successfully pressure canned for the first time last night! I didn’t have the manual to the GraniteWare I’m borrowing from a friend. I did have to keep my heat just above medium to keep the rocking of the weights, though.

    I just bought this pan in 2022 from Walmart. I was skeptical that this pan could cook a 15 pound turkey in 2 hours. I put veggies in the bottom and placed butter and herbs on top and some under the skin. I cooked it for 2 hours on 375 degrees and it came out amazing! Moist on the inside and crisp on the outside. The juices in the bottom made awesome gravy with all of the veggies juices to add the extra flavor. Super happy with this pan and this video that helped me out!

    We cannot get the pressure regulator to "jiggle" for more than a few seconds before it gets stuck! A real PITA! So one has to sit beside it play with the heat for an hour or more. We do have an old Mirro brand and I guess we'll go back to using it as we know it works. We received this unit as a gift so fortunately we did not have to spend our hard earned money on this thing.

    This helped alot. I have a similar pressure canner, I've been terrified to use. Can I put the stacking rack on the bottom to keep jars from touching pan, and still put a jar lifting wrack in on top of it? I have the jar lifting wrack that cane with my water bath canner.
