Loved the tip about filing after applying foundation or your preferred base coat. My nails have always been on the softer side and also tend to curve and providing the strength before filing is fantastic. Btw I’ll be adding to my cart a resine palette (I use the back of the gel x nail case). It’s cute and nothing really expensive. I find that elevating the manicure experience is part of the charm for us do it at home gals

Hey :) these are so simple and pretty! 😍 I would suggest just filling the ridge instead of filing because you’re just removing lots of layers in your nail to get it the same level as the ridge which will make them weaker. 🥰
You could have problems like overgrowth if you've experienced traumatic injury to nail beds. There are conditions like onychogryphosis where the nail has to be filed down because of the extreme vertical growth.
I've never thought about using a rod of some sort to help with the curving of the nails. I have 2 nails that are so stubborn and have such a big c curve to them. and when I get them done they look so awkward. Thank you. I'll definitely be trying this.

Wait... so does the foundation still work when you remove the sticky layer? I noticed it says to wipe excess product off with a dry brush. But you just wiped it off with a cleaner. Does that effect the longevity of the product?

thank you! 💘 unless you know for sure that it’s likely due to scar tissue from trauma to the nail, i wouldn’t risk filing it down. i would maybe gently file it with a 200 grit and fill it with builder instead. i can’t feel much when i file mine, it’s almost like scar tissue from being bit as a kid.
you might have an injury on your thumb resulting in those grooves that’s near the base of the nail area or a vitamin deficiency that creates the ridges also some people who were frequently nail biting and stopped can have ridges on certain fingers

the part that i’m filing down almost feels like nail scar tissue (i got bit), so when i file it, it’s like i’m filing down a hoof. 😂 i feel nothing.

it still works. i do it all the time and honestly i haven’t noticed a difference in longevity, they lasted 3 weeks!

Ugh, I have bumps on both of my thumbs too but they run lengthwise. Almost like a tent shape. It's so annoying. I don't know why it's so bad.

You should have your iron levels checked the next time you see your PCP! Maybe you have an iron deficiency and thats why your nails are curling in.
