Because we need a future qb and they draft pretty good players now coach them up because Dallas Turner went 17 so Atl fans get over it

You are huffing some serious copium. You cannot, with ANY sense of **honest expectation** foresee a trade happening for a player which ATL is consistently laughed at for drafting at #8. If it works out, great, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. Looking at NFL history, the most likely outcome is that both Cousins and Penix are mid. At best. "Old QB coming off what less than 5 years ago was considered a career ending injury" doesn't inspire enthusiastic confidence. "Rookie QB" also usually means below league average QB play. When you make it "Rookie QB who most expected to go in the late 1st / early 2nd round," the outcome is worse. We paid a new Mercedes price in draft capital for a Toyota that's already been in two accidents.

Just like the mainstream media saying everything is great. No crime, economy is great, the border is no issue. People are not stupid. Atlanta terrible 1st pick, trying to say everything is good. lol

Brilliant decision if you have no intention of winning anytime soon. We messed up by hiring a retread for a head coach. Penix cannot help us win for years to come. Penix has to be pissed about this whole thing. He could have started for several teams and maybe been the next CJ Stroud. Who knows? All he will be doing is pacing the sidelines with a clipboard for years hoping Cousins gets hurt. Pathetic.....

Honestly don't mind the choice of Raheem Morris. Belichick was a retread when New England hired him . It's the drafting that's been so frustrating to me. Frustratingly, the GM's been pretty good at choosing people from within the league, else we'd be a 2-4 win team (which honestly would've been better at this point). He just isn't executing a logical drafting strategy, IMO. Since Fontenot's clearly not a dummy, you have to wonder how much Arthur Blank is forcing his draft picks (esp the 1st rounders).

@@crabuki1273 We already fired Morris once. I was hoping for an Eric Bienemy or a Bobby Slowik or even try to lure Tomlin from the Steelers. I don't have much faith in the coaching staff at this point. Another long losing season ahead.

@@japbike736 I get that, but he was apparently well respected during his 5 years as a Falcon assistant, and the 11 game interim head coaching stint came at the tale end of Dan Quinn's long tenure. I don't know how much impact to this issue it had, but it was also mid-pandemic, which I think of as a non-zero factor. I view the first firing as the team looking for a fresh start more than them feeling Morris wasn't capable. Which is a lot of words to say "I don't think he's a bad choice as head coach," but also is not "I think he's great." I think he puts his players in position to win.

@@crabuki1273 Well respected does not always translate into wins. He is a players coach and I think we need a coaches coach. Somebody to ride their ass when they need it and not try to be best friends. He is 21-38 as a head coach on his third try. I have been a Falcons fan since we took Nobis in 66 and have suffered with this team many times. I am running out of seasons and to let the next 2 or 3 go by without winning really upsets me. Morris is another Marion Campbell as far as I am concerned. Time will tell....
