Something a bit different for todays video. I was contacted by one of my regular commercial business customers to see if I could clean and restore a pair of marble panther statues, that had spent a long time outside, and had accumulated quite a lot of mould and lichen on the surface of the marble.
I was confident I could restore these to there former glory, so submitted my quote, which obviously was accepted.
Come and join me in this video from start to finish, as I talk through the process as I clean. Hope you enjoy the satisfying transformation. N.

These beautiful cats will be living inside from now on, how wonderful. Excellent job!
The "Prowling Panthers" leaned up beautifully! Next for the patios!
Maybe after the customer sees the cleaned area of moss where you performed the work, they will call you back to clean their property.
I sure hope they do because its a beautiful patio 👍
I hope so, it was quite dirty 🙂
Place looks slimmy
You always take such meticulous care of the projects you clean. Great job, sir.
Aw cheers Catherine 😊❤️
This has been a very interesting project. The statues look beautiful after your cleaning work and I'm glad they will now be indoors and not subject to more weather damage. Obviously, the remarkable paving stones are making themselves known. That is a nice garden area. A pretty incredible difference shown in the Before and After photos.
Hoping customer also has you do that patio, think cleaned up the place will be stunning! As are the panthers!
I hope so too!
I think the moss adds a beautiful old world look to it
Amazing job as usual Nick. My heart would have been pounding throughout that job worrying that part of them would fall off. Such great care and attention to detail - fantastic. Thanks, as ever, for the upload, have a great week :)
Thanks Al, i must admit, every time I had to shuffle them about, I was a little panicky, scared I might crack or damage something 😳. Thanks again mate 👍
Well done Nick, they look amazing!
Thanks mate ☺️
Fantastic Nick, the owner must have been happy
Absolutely, cheers Andrew 👍
Nick they look absolutely amazing
Thanks so much Colin ✊
Cats are my favorite people . They are magnificent 😊
They look great. I was hoping you'd do the floor there as well😃
Maybe one day!
Очень красивые фигуры. Изображены в движении. И спасибо, что дали им второе дыхание.
Amazing job Nick. They look fantastic now. I’m glad they are going to live indoors now though - they really show up that mossy green stonework!
Thanks as always Mishka ❤️
🇨🇦Amazing job boy did they ever clean up nicely. Excellent job. Well done Glad they are going back inside.

Thank you so much 😀
What a great job you did on the panthers, absolutely beautiful!😊
Thank you Sheila! 😊
They do look awesome! Great job!
Thanks a bunch! 🙂
Those look amazing!!!
Excellent job, Nick. 👍🏼👍🏼 It was really difficult trying to determine dirt from veins in the actual marble, but you managed it just fine. 😉 Now, that lion in the background could have used a clean as well as all the brick on that property. 🦁Different priorities I guess. Well done, and thanks for sharing. Have a great week, Nick. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Aw cheers Denise, a huge thanks as always 💕
Great job! The statuary looks amazing. You did a very good job on a delicate piece of marble. I wish we could see the finished statues in the home where they are going to put them. I bet that would be amazing. Thank you for the video. KAT from Birmingham, Alabama.❤
Huge thanks KAT from Alabama 😍
Something a bit different brilliant Nick mate👌👌👌
Cheers Col 🙂👍
Those are GORGEOUS! They looked like cement before you started, now they show their pricey side!!!!
Heeey Kelli, so nice to hear from you, thank you for the great comment as always ❤️

Awesome job as usual ❤
Aw thanks @Jaydaydesign 💕
Very good job! Well done, Sir.
Those look so good, likekle night and day from where you started! Great job!
So kind, cheers Toni 😍
Absolutely awesome job. Well done sir
AWESOME job as ALWAYS Nick!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! I do wish they were my panthers ! Absolutely stunning👌💖 Great Job you did with them💕
Thanks so much Jane 💕
wow nice job
very few pieces of marble are perfectly white. The stone will have other material/minerals in it and I doubt that for the panthers that very expensive marble was used.
WOW! Sir Nick you did i again. I didn't know you could clean marble this way. The owner must of been so pleased. Great great job.
Cheers from the pacific northwest Canada side.
Aw cheers, I really appreciate that ☺️
Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
that patio needs a good cleanup...nice work with the panthers!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Spectacular results Nick, I do hope that the home owner has you back to work the pavers, those are absolutely filthy, I would love to have you here in my town of Susquehanna Pennsylvania, there are many old structures that are in dire need of a good cleaning, mostly brick, but there's also lots and lots of concrete that need a good washing, I do believe that you would be in heaven getting it all cleaned up
I think you are right as to the marks.I think they are natural veins in the rock,as you said marble has the same flecks in it aswell.
What a beautiful terrace
Great work! We love your videos 😃👍
Thank you 🤗 💓
Nice to see the Ibix out again. Nice job. And yes, the markings are all part of the marble.
Thanks Jamie 👍
Wow, those being marble I would not have put them outside. They would be a lovely greeting inside.
Amazing job ihope you get the job to clean all the rest of the place ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope so too
What a job amazing Nick how clean they came up brilliant certainly standing out now !! the owner must be very happy how they came up ? 👍 Top man Nick .
Awesome, cheers Russ
Beautiful ❤️
Nick, nice to see you back from your holiday and 'prowling' around. Those kitties look purr-fect. 😆.
🤣 Big thanks as always LuAnn ❤️
What a difference, agree with you on that being 99.9999 just the marbling pattern.
LOL 😂 "Spotage? Is that a word?" I scared my dog from laughing out loud on that one. 😂😂
🤣
Good job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Two beautiful cats! Now the customer should hire you clean up around the one clean spot you made on the patio stonework. The bricks are nasty too.
Sand blasting with egg shells is one practice used with fragile stone restoration, such as sandstone ornaments and building facades, but finding enough egg shells is a problem. Not sure if egg shells would do better job, but worth trying out for future reference..
👍👍👍.Thanks
Thank you too
Nice specialty cleaning done. The house exterior and patio could do with a serious pressure washing/scrub cleaning, and the property will look sparkling new.
Many thanks ☺️
I think marble has veins in it and the dark lines are veins. Great work! Thanks for sharing. George from Florida, USA
Cool, thanks
I know it was the seller that named them but their faces in particular, look like tigers.
Either way, they cleaned up amazing 👍🏻
excellent!
Gotta give you serious credit mate, carerra marble does carry big black veins and the yellow is poorus oxidation. I have been working in the kitchen industry for wwll over 20 years and can say that what you see is what you get when it comes to marble and because these are not polised, you have created a beautiful job. Trust me when i say the black marks are not organic and thats the beauty of carerra marble. Awesome job 👍
Thanks mate 😍
Fantastic job… 😍
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful result. Did the homeowner come out and give you any feedback?
Thanks mate, yeah he was over the moon. He was the one that mentioned to me that the marks I was calling streaks, were called veins, and is perfectly normal to see in marble. Every day's a school day bud 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning It’s always a good day to learn something new.
I find Milton the best for getting rid of mould
Look great to me
Thanks Douglas
I hope you are hired to clean the cobblestones and walls. Beautiful courtyard area that needs some Nick TLC!
The orange colouring could be naturally occurring deposits of Ferric Oxide, often Marble is valued for its swirling patterns, striations (layers developed as the rock was laid down over the millennia.) There is much debate over how many marble figures were when originally commissioned actually were left pure white, scanning surfaces has revealed in antiquity much of it was painted.
Most marble has natural viening.
Veining 👍 that’s exactly what my customer said it was 👍
What kind of blaster are you using? And amazing job!!
Thanks, it's an Ibix Trilogy 28 👍
Beautiful statues, but the flashing eye on the water feature was odd. Great job being careful cleaning them.
Lol, I was thinking the same, I wonder what it was for 🤔
Wow, what a truly nice job :D the last spots which were hard to remove seem to have been there where the black carpet was the thickest, so it's understandable.
Just out of curiosity: did you not have to clean underneath the panthers or was that just impossible without breaking them?
Aw thanks Tatjana, so lovely of you 💕. Lol, to be honest, I didn't even think about it, and they didn't ask. Although I think it would have been quite risky, as they were very heavy, and it could possible have damaged them 👍
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning I just thought of it when I heard, that they will be inside the house now. Putting mold inside the house isn't the best idea ^^' but yes, I quite believe the high weight and marble is somewhat brittle.
@@tatjanadosch1583 that’s a really good point, I and I assume they hadn’t thought of that 🫢
Ah get it now
can you use dish soap as a surfactant?
You could yeah, but shouldn’t really as it’s not really been approved to be mixed with SH 👍
good to know TY!@@PrestigeExternalCleaning
I forgot to say the cats cleaned up a treat. Look brand new!
did you clean underneath them ?..
Nope, they were too delicate and heavy to manhandle them onto there sides on my own
Saw your yellow wheelie bin on another video, how does that work
A few other guys on here have yellow wheelie bins too 👍
Just asking, is it just used as a tank
Ah I see, sorry I misunderstood what you meant, yes it's used as a buffer tank as most peoples tap pressure can't keep up with what the pressure washer pump requires, unless it's on a roof clean which requires much less pressure and flow 👍
Why not use D2? Let it soak, give it a scrub, then one more application and leave that on. It performs miracles with NO harm to marble from too aggressive cleaning.
Because D2 is a very weak QAC (quaternary ammonium compound) based cleaner, and would take weeks, even months for the marble to resemble anywhere near the appearance I achieved in a few hours using this method. The customer was paying me for an instant result, as he wanted the panthers in his house as soon as possible.
Soda blasting is not considered to be aggressive. It was the method used to clean the statue of liberty back in the 1980’s
I can just see Drew Pritchard crying into his tea watching all that patina washed down the grid.
😂
What's hypo?
❤❤❤
You turned a black panther into a snow leopard! 😂
😂👌
wow, can't believe they didn't get you to do the property. don't understand that .
Wow Nick what a wonderful job to get 😮
To be honest before the clean I wouldn't have paid 20 each for them but oh wow by the time you had worked your always meticulous magic I can understand why your customer purchased them 🥰 relieved to hear they will be kept indoors from now on 😊 the thought that all that work would be for nothing is unbearable.
I agree with other comments that nice clean spot should maybe make him/her think 🤔 maybe I should get Nick to do this as well 😂
Hope you and your family are well 😊😊 love and hugs to you all from oop north x
Hey Polgara, yeah they looked awful to begin with, I can't imagine why anyone would keep something like that outside. Hopefully i'll be going back to clean the rest of the paving at some point, and can make a good video about it. Big thanks as always, Nick from daaaawn saaaaaaf 💕
the yellow bit is where someone stubbed out a cigarette, the nicotine stains the marble.
I have to wonder whether the sculptor ever saw a cat paw before? Strangest cat feet ever. Look like fingers. But now clean fingers!
Who wants to bet that the customer never told Nick that those jaguars are worth about £10k at least 😂
🤣
Destroyed their patina for good. Devalued
Even if that’s true, the customer doesn’t care about that, he’s a millionaire, he didn’t buy them as an investment, he wanted them looking clean to have the natural marble look restored, and display them in his home. So if in fact he has devalued them by hiring me, it’s irrelevant to him.
Dude you need to vacuum
