Amazing Fish Josh!! Just Subbed Your Channel to see what happens next. I have a blue carpintis too and i thinks its male!!🔥🔥🔥 you almost ran me off with your praise about sun sun but i do have a 404b
Hey Josh! I wonder if keeping them on a lighter substrate would help. I mention that only b/c I’ve personally had fish (a Jack Dempsey) show much lighter spangles once I took him off black substrate and mixed him to light sand. Fish tend to change their color in an effort to try and match the substrate. Your carpentis are even pretty dark right now. Just a thought. I know that’s a lot of work though. Anyway Keep up the good work! Happy New Year!
I've personally had the opposite experience fish tend to darken up to match their environment but when it comes to red texas cichlids it's all about genetics food and substrate can only take you so far sadly
Cool 😎 Cichlids, God Bless and Jesus Christ Loves You ✝️❤️💯 also thanks for giving some info I appreciate it. Been thinking about hybrid cichlids for a while.
The more percentage of 1 species they are made up of the more likely they are to be fertil typically by your 3rd gen and up should be fertile due to being mostly carpintis or cyanoguttatus
Never had any bad experiences with Chris just shot him a message on Facebook and he'll get you taken care of great guy I've order multiple super red texas from him
Looking really good Josh, I have a few dozen in my system. They are great when lights are shining on them, nice collection.

So they say a lot if the male Red Texas don't reproduce. What's your feelings about buying him?
