I 100% agree with you. Geckos, by far, are one of the most comfortable Hooks to climb in.

thank you for that great review I've been using the Buckingham titanium spikes and they've been hurting my shins really bad so you helped convince me to get those geckos I don't care if they cost eight hundred thirty bucks I'm seventy-two years old still climbing Big trees so I need this extra comfort and lightness thanks again

You're going to love those aluminum distills bro. I prefer those over my talons

What’s the comparison between these and Buckingham climbers?

There isn't a comparison to Buckingham unless you're looking at their lite titanium climbers. Compared to a Big Buck these are super lite and a more comfortable fit. After wearing carbon fibers my Big Bucks felt heavy and sloppy.

Nice review. I’m confused with the Distels. I see the 3’s mostly, but there is also a “Distel Aluminum by DMM”that have polished aluminum shanks with a rubber pad on the bottom like the Geckos. These are a little harder to find and are $20 more. Which of the 2 would you choose?

They are both aluminum but the MK3s are the newest model. I would buy the MK3s before anything else other than a carbon fiber set. You can't beat the value for $400.
