Netherealm could use a life size Motaro Animatronic with Motion Capture. Its not like they cant pay Creature Shop or the Jim Henson company to help them.

I've never seen gameplays of MK3, tho I've beaten it plenty of times on Novice & Average. The fact that I use the same methods to beat Motaro & Shao Khan as the ones used here makes me proud. Lol

I’ve never personally played mk gold as it was only on Dreamcast but at least he appears more buff than he was in mk4 if you compare mk4 and mk gold shinnok you’ll see what I mean. He does have some bulk in mk gold so at least his appearance improved...He did seem at least in this video seem very slightly harder difficulty than the mk4 version which like everyone says is a total joke. All they had to do is make him invulnerable to projectiles as he was in mythologies and give him a bigger life bar than shao kahn and maybe have the amulet blast like 40% of your life bar and that alone would’ve made him much more menacing and much more boss like.

I often refer to MK4 as the last classic MK, because it shares the same gameplay and buttons than the 2D games, only adding the sidestep function that was the only 3D feature in said gameplay. But, damn, it was soooo buggy. And the programmers were soooo lazy. All the characters share winning, standing, blocking poses, etc.. punches and kickes, etc. They even share the same combos!. They have to add Goro for the home versions because the game had no actual bosses. Shinnok was a regular playable character even when he was cpu-controlled and supposed to be "the boss". And look at that ending screen! No scrolling text or other effect of the sort, just a plain image.
I like the fact that in the old games bosses used to be quite hard to defeat. They kind of... forced the player to be a bit "strategic" to win. Even in Mortal Kombat 9, Kintaro and freaking Shao Kahn were difficult ones, little by little you had to figure out how you could win. In MKX and MKXI bosses are rather easy in my opinion. I mean... even a noob can defeat them. I am a noob (at playing, not at knowing about the game and the story of it).
He's playable by default, so he wouldn't count. MKII's bosses on the Arcade release were coded in such a way that even if you managed to find a way to select them, you couldn't even make them do anything as they had no inputs programmed. Shang Tsung's just above the "?" to point out that he's a higher-ranking villain than the other playable Kombatants. I think the devs realized this discrepancy in later games, thus his exclusion from the top tier of the ladder in the later MKs he's in, save for Deadly Alliance.
Yes he was the sub-sub boss in that game. In shaolin monks they did the same thing. When u got to the end of the game you fought shang, then kintaro, and then Kahn.

That said, he's unique in that he's the first playable main boss character in the whole series, and 4 handled its characters really weirdly due to rushed reworks before release (Jarek having a fatality planned for Kano before he was replaced, Reiko's ending being incomplete till home ports, the final boss being selected at random in the beta, etc.), so I don't know if it's a byproduct of that, or a conscious decision by NRS to help even out the playable roster.

Yeah I think that is the point of mk11, rekovering the gameplay of mk1 and II (although more modern and advanced obviously), even if you look at the animations such as Baraka's kick or the artstyle like the more vibrant kolors and the less serious tone, even the main roster was mostly mkII kharakters, almost every kombatant from mkII aside from Smoke, Kintaro and Mileena are back, the dlc tho seems to bring back the mk3 kharakters into the game

It should had been Goro, Shang Tsung, Shang Tsung, Kintaro, Shao Kahn, Motaro, Shao Kahn, Goro, and Shinnok. The MK Gold doesn't even need to be shown as they're practically the same bosses.
Gameplay wise or story wise? Gameplay wise probably so but story wise Shang tsung is actually stronger than goro kintaro and Motaro. Not physically stronger but he’s a stronger being and more powerful as a whole than the non human sub bosses in the story,he’s not physically stronger then them so in gameplay he is ranked beneath kintaro for that reason that he’s easier to beat but in the story Shang tsung is stronger why do you think shao kahn has Shang tsung as his second in the general story? Bcuz he’s a more powerful being due to his magic but he’s of course kintaro is battled after in mk2 bcuz he’s physically stronger but you can be stronger than an opponent bcuz of magical abilities that beat physical brute. Shang tsung proved this himself in mk11 killing shao kahn who’s physically stronger than him
Mk gold shinnok at least physically appears bulkier than his mk4 build if you compare them closely you’ll see that he looks bigger and bulkier in mk9 gold over mk4. His difficulty at least in this video seemed very slightly harder than his mk4 version but I’ve never played mkgold as it was only on Dreamcast I only played n64 and ps1 version of mk4. Shao kahn to me personally was much much easier in mk2 than in mk3. The only thing that helped you in mk3 is you could use combos but shao kahn seemed much faster stronger and spammed his head beam blast much more than he spammed that arrow attack in mk2. In mk2 shao kahn was much weaker. I played snes mk1 it was a joke to beat Shang tsung. In the arcade version mk1 Shang tsung is much much harder I would argue that version of Shang tsung is at least equal or close to mk2 shao kahn difficulty. And in every version I’ve played kintaro was ridiculous and harder than kahn as was Motaro. In mk9 shao kahn is harder on medium difficulty than corrupted shinnok was on medium but set the difficulty to very hard and corrupted shinnok I would argue was actually harder on very hard than kahn in mk9 on very hard bcux he spammed the beam blast so much also did combos which he didn’t really do on med or hard difficulty. Medium shinnok was a joke on mkx but very hard level shinnok was a true challenge. Shao kahn is a challenge but he’s actually quite easy if you know how to evade his attacks space the fight out with shinnok there is no spacing the fight as he just blasts his amulet on you to death and kills you faster on very hard than kahn cannon the same level. Shinnok doesn’t have battle armor like kahn but if he did he’d definitely be infinitely harder than mk9 kahn for sure. Kronica like shinnok in mkx is easy on medium much easier than medium level mk9 shao kahn but on very hard I’d argue either kronica or shinnok are both harder specifically on very hard difficulty than mk9kahn on very hard. Also I don’t mean the story end fight so much as the towers end battle with you choosing whichever character you want.

And in every version I’ve played kintaro was ridiculous and harder than kahn as was Motaro. In mk9 shao kahn is harder on medium difficulty than corrupted shinnok was on medium but set the difficulty to very hard and corrupted shinnok I would argue was actually harder on very hard than kahn in mk9 on very hard bcux he spammed the beam blast so much also did combos which he didn’t really do on med or hard difficulty. Medium shinnok was a joke on mkx but very hard level shinnok was a true challenge. Shao kahn is a challenge but he’s actually quite easy if you know how to evade his attacks space the fight out with shinnok there is no spacing the fight as he just blasts his amulet on you to death and kills you faster on very hard than kahn cannon the same level. Shinnok doesn’t have battle armor like kahn but if he did he’d definitely be infinitely harder than mk9 kahn for sure. Kronica like shinnok in mkx is easy on medium much easier than medium level mk9 shao kahn but on very hard I’d argue either kronica or shinnok are both harder specifically on very hard difficulty than mk9kahn on very hard. Also I don’t mean the story end fight so much as the towers end battle with you choosing whichever character you want.
