- Plate Carriers are a critical piece of life-saving equipment for military, law enforcement, and prepared citizens alike. As such, selecting the best plate carrier for you is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. To help, we’ve created the world’s first and only data-driven review system for plate carriers that uses purely empirical testing to evaluate the leading plate carriers on the market today as selected by you: our awesome viewers, subscribers, and customers.
In Best Plate Carriers of 2024, we test the plate carriers that received the most votes by our subs and customers from our Best Plate Carriers of 2023 video: T.Rex Arms AC1, Haley Strategic Partners Thorax, Defense Mechanisms MEPC (Mission Essential Plate Carrier), Agilite K-Zero, Blue Force Gear PLATE6 MOLLE Minus, and Shaw Concepts ARC V2. We also show how to integrate our IceAge Ecosystem with each plate carrier: ICEPLATE® Curve, IMS, IMS Versa, IMS Pro, ICEVENTS® Aero Minimalist Plate Carrier Shoulder Pads, and ICEVENTS® Classic Heavy Loadout Plate Carrier Shoulder Pads since that is the origin of this video series: customers asking us to show them how to integrate our various IceAge Ecosystem members with various plate carriers on the market today.

As a retired Army Special Ops soldier, I’ve worn and used several different types of body armor and plate carriers. That being said, as a now civilian, the Qore Performance plate carrier is, by far, my favorite of any I’ve used. Having had mine for almost three years, the weight, functionality, and comfort of this plate carrier is vastly superior to all others.
Love how you openly say that you don't just want to sell your own carriers but take an honest look at the competition. But a technical overwiew of your own carrier would be cool as a point of comparison.
Thanks - glad you found the video helpful! Some quick notes for context:
1. Our company exists to help freedom-loving people to realize their full potential in everything they do. We do this using thermoregulation to enhance performance and survivability in the field. As such, even though we do make a plate carrier, we don’t consider any of the other companies in our videos to be “competition” since they are really in the tactical gear/pouch business and we do performance enhancement for a wide variety of end-users with Military being just one component. Our Enterprise Safety business is actually the larger of the two business lines. We exist to help everybody else get the most out of their PPE system (plate carrier, safety vest, etc.), no matter who makes it. Our goal with these videos is more to help individuals and teams build an objective analytical framework for their purchasing/procurement decisions.
2. We put ICEPLATE EXO® through all of the same exact testing that we put each of the other plate carriers through in this video and our 2023 Best Plate Carriers video. You can find all of those test results in the INSIGHTS article with all of the data tables in the show notes above or by clicking here:
www.qoreperformance.com/blogs/military-insights/the-best-plate-carriers-of-2024?_pos=1&_sid=3ed5fcdf5&_ss=r
3. Even with us publishing all of the data, would y’all like to see us do a dedicated Technical Review video for ICEPLATE EXO® using our standardized empirical format? If so, we can do that, just let us know here in the comments!
We hope this helps, but please let us know if you have any additional questions. #StayFrosty
I think it's always interesting to hear about spec from the manufacturer/designer, so it would be wonderful to have a dedicated video to your ICEPLATE EXO. Loved the vid and your company!@@QorePerformanceUSA
to the editor: tysm for all the add break montages in between sets, makes the video way more interesting.
Amazing video! I love that you go into the technical details that are often over looked and provide data!
Glad you liked it! #StayFrosty
That’s some great info thanks
Glad it was helpful! #StayFrosty
I've watched Travis Haley since I was a very young man and I consider him an American hero and patriot. I fully support his company and products. I think his Jack Carbine is one of the finest combat carbines of the AR line up till this day.
Man… I have been on a hunt for the Jack Carbine “mainly just the lower” for years!
Great stuff you guys.
Glad you enjoyed it
I don’t have much experience with many carriers other than cheap ones like Armor Republic. The newest Safelife concealed interests me. However, I do really like the HRT LBAC.
I've acquired and used quite a few carriers over the years, my three most utilized currently are my Firstspear AAC V2, as well as my two Shaw Concepts ARC V2s (one for work in uniform color black, the other being my current personal primary loadbearing pc in wolf gray.) As similar i find the FS AAC V2 and SC ARC V2 to be, i have to give the edge to the Shaw Concepts ARC V2 due to being slightly more comfortable with the hook and loop attached interior plate pads, the superior plate retention method in the spider system, the more standard accessory mounting methods and options in addition to solely lasercut molle and FS tubes as is on my AAC V2, and the slightly cheaper base price that a complete carrier comes to out the door. That being said, the reason I like my SC ARC V2s so much is primarily due to how similar they are to my FS AAC V2, they just have a few more bells and whistles that come standard, and at a cheaper price.
Lbt has a 6094 laser cut model now, please review!
Sending love🇵🇭🙏🇵🇭

AC1 taking the civi llate carrier market by storm
That intro was fucking fantastic
Glad you enjoyed it! #StayFrosty
My favorite load bearing plate carrier hands down is Shaw Concepts ARV v2!!!! There is no comparison. None.
Hands down, wouldn’t trade it for anything else
Agreed, I have 2, one for work, the other is my personal primary loadbearing kit. My Firstspear AAC V2 comes in 2nd as it is similar, but lacks a few features that come standard on the SC ARC V2, and actually costs more than my ARC V2s
I’ve been running the crye jpg 2.0. What in your opinion is the difference? I’ve been looking at those but do not know anything about them.
SPC with AXL accessories is pretty awesome
Y'all should check out the Tasmanian Tiger Anfibia!
The ir reflection would be an important point.
I also missed the Zentauron Vulcan III.
I run it since two years and i am very satisfied.
Now looking for a new one for my stonegrey loadout.
Comfort, no irr, heat transmission and big size are important. Should have many options like molle, velcro and maybe more. Also need an adaptive daypack for it. Maybe with YKK
Nylon handles IR and we are unaware of a plate carrier on the market today that doesn’t have nylon on the outside. But, we can incorporate it into future videos if y’all would like to see what the various carriers look like under NV and Thermal?
@@QorePerformanceUSA thats an absolute important Point. Look at the Agilite Gear review when they film through NVG the Packpack and the Plate Carrier is in the Background. Its Festival lightning. The Zentauron Platecarriers and the ufpro Gear stays in Nightvision nearly invisible
@@QorePerformanceUSA btw is the Exo Platecarrier IRR or does He Shine Like a moon?
My best Plate carrier is S&S precision Plate frame modular, i have multicam and grey , sometimes Crye AVS and Ferro FCPC , please make review
I'm gonna go with PlateMinus V6, truly underrated carrier.
Only others I'd choose over it are an SPC or an AVS(heavy boi loads).
The plateminus is far from perfect. Out of the box, the cummerbund requires a lot of flexibility to reach the elastic and secure it. Watch the demo video done at shotshow when it debuted with Pressburg. The shoulder straps lack adjustment for sloped traps. I also find the front pocket useless and annoying to open, because I need two hands to do it. Some other niggles as well.
@@smashedhulk8492 I literally have one lol.
@@smashedhulk8492 The material conforms to the shape of your traps just like every other carrier that has thin straps.
Speaking of which, I also have an SPC.
So, both carriers I haven't had a single issue with.
Side note; any admin pouch on a carrier that is Velcro secured requires two hands. I'm sure if you measure it, you can get a zipper insert for it.
Please please please adjust your music volume in the shooting cuts, I have to adjust the volume up and down every time the music comes in and back up when the narration starts
Wow
Sending hug with love💞💞💞
Shaw Concepts all day long, if price isn't an issue. Stock availability and communications are lacking, however, I find he product to be superior enough to invest in more than one plate carrier.
First Spear is my personal favorite, Strandhogg or AAC
I have the Firstspear AAC V2, it is an awesome carrier. It was my personal primary pc for almost 2 years, however, I also have two Shaw Concepts ARC V2s (one for work in uniform color black, the other as my personal primary in wolf gray), and I have to give a slight edge to the ARC over the AAC for comfort and a slightly cheaper base price, but they are extremely similar. That being said, my loadout accessories are a mixture between both Firstspear and Shaw Concepts.
Shaw Concepts supremacy
Will you test in the near future the HRT LBAC and the LBT mission adaptable? Thank you and respect for what you're doing...
If we get enough votes for those models, absolutely! As noted in the show notes above, we don’t actually select the plate carriers for our videos. You guys do!
Perfect, thank you verry much for your reply. Respect 🙏🏻
Our pleasure!
Out of curiosity, the thermal transmittance data for the AC V2 was the only one that had a range that put it from 2nd worse to best. Was wondering how that was obtained as I assume it was done multiple times and you're presenting the range but the others didn't have a range of inputs either. just curious :)
T.Rex Arms AC1 Thermal Transmittance is 28 degrees F as displayed on our data tables:
www.qoreperformance.com/blogs/military-insights/the-best-plate-carriers-of-2024
I think he's talking about the Shaw Concepts ARC V2 @@QorePerformanceUSA
@@QorePerformanceUSA can you give us an answer on this plz
The variance in the Thermal Transmittance numbers for the ARC V2 come from location and with or without the spacer mesh pontoons. We detail this in the Tech Overview video we did on the ARC V2 and we provide the science behind why the spacer mesh performs the way it does in this other INSIGHTS article. Both links are below.

I would highly suggest looking at WTF's PC 24. I received it with the structural cummerbund and zip on back pack, and it's perfect on me.
this
maybe i missed it but why are the SPC, jpc2 & AVS missing ?
I think they had a "recency" cut off for this, a few other PC came out in the last two months, kinda like the MMA fight of the year awards is only 8 months out of a year.
Those were all covered in our Best Plate Carriers of 2023 video:
www.qoreperformance.com/blogs/military-insights/plate-carrier-reviews?_pos=1&_sid=e79f64d77&_ss=r
Just got my crye JPC for Christmas but now I gotta kit it out. Who makes quality AR Mag pouches and other gear?
Here is an article from our INSIGHTS blog to answer your exact question:

Now y'all just gotta do the 2024 Belts :D
Do y’all really want to see that? The belt series did not do nearly as well as the PC series.
@@QorePerformanceUSA for those fewer of us that saw it, that information is worth its weight in gold. I have that video saved in my “always keep this videos around library”
@@QorePerformanceUSA I wouldn't mind seeing it! This video helped me narrow down my pc choice to 2 the arc v2 and fcpc v5 and I'd like help with the belt too!
How tall are you standing?
Thoughts on the "more affordable" variants like Tacticon Armament?
We don’t have any experience with that particular brand, but we’ll be happy to include it in our 2025 series if it gets enough votes.
I wonder why not add Warrior Assualt Systems carriers?
See show notes above for selection criteria details.
No Terra B ? Lindnerhof ? Tiger Tailor ? SIOEN ? ProtectionGroupDK ?
See selection criteria above in show notes
Plate Carriers compatible with four mag placards????
Shaw Concepts has inserts.
The AC1 may be better in several categories but is completely different type of plate carrier. What I mean is it should not belong in this competition. Other than that is interesting the choices you made to compare these PCs.
Agreed. For context, we don’t actually select the carriers for the videos. They are selected by votes/emails/comments from subs/customers. See show notes above and previous videos in the series for additional background. Hope that helps!
Agreed would never be used in real operations
@@philiplucky7170that is just blatantly not true true just because it has a different purpose dosent mean it wouldn’t be used in the real world. It’s literally designed to be a covert PC, lightweight and low profile just like many plate carriers worn in covert operations under clothes or in stealthy scenarios where you don’t want to look suspicious, also designed for non load bearing civilian use, trex arms is a civilian oriented company so it makes sense.
This is a best PLATE CARRIER video not best combat plate carrier or best weight bearing plate carrier video, the ac1 is really good at doing what it was designed for and the heavier PCs are really good at doing what they were designed for. This video is for all types of PCs.
Nailed it.
At the 4:48 mark, the guy in plate carrier is wearing a shirt sleeve shirt. What brand is that?
Looks like a velocity systems boss rugby
Agolite zero and nothing else.
not once have I ever needed a ice plate but thats also because im Canada.

I have the Agilite K19 and it is by the in my opinion the best plate carrier out. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I mean if that’s what you could afford and you train with it sure but until you try other carriers you’ll have a different opinion.
I have a K19, I used it for work for less than a year before springing for a Firstspear AAC V2 (since switched to a Shaw ARC V2) due to the complete lack of integrated cable management. I literally had to clip my PTT to the shirt I was wearing under the carrier, which was unacceptable. It is comfortable though, I'll give it that, and I like the plate retention straps in the plate bags as well.
@@2jzgteSupraJZA80 fair enough. But no point in trying anything else if what I have works and runs great for me but I get your point sir.
Its too expensive and the add ons are over priced.
Not criticizing your substance, just your presentation...
Your vocalization volume is turned down, while your shooting volume is turned up. This forces your audience to turn up there own volume to hear your explanations, then shit themselves when the shooting begins, and consequently turn their volume down, only to find your quiet explanations begin again. I pity the poor bastards wearing headsets, never mind those watching your video while their house is asleep.
In short, your presentation is assholio. Reverse the volume settings.
100% fair and accurate critique. We have a new Videographer now who has largely fixed this problem, but we're always looking to get better so we appreciate it!
What a waste of time
No thanks, I do not like laser cut and I am completely baffled why you all do not wear side plates for some unbeknownst reason. You know how many Ukrainian troops have eaten a bullet to the side because they failed to wear a side plate? Iraq isn't shit in comparison to trench and urban warfare especially with no air support and being constantly bombarded with artillery day and night. No Apaches to fly in, no A10s cluster bombing enemy positions - nothing. You know how many fragmentation injuries there are for not having stuff like ballistic eye gear and not wearing that fucking side plate? I am still partial to the 6094 cause its a no-nonsense PC and its durable. Don't need all this fancy shit.
Plate carriers are not a matter of life and death. The quality of PLATES you put in those carriers is. All the rest is just personal preference and tacticool BS. Had my Crye JPC 1.0 for years. Still serves me well. This video sounds like someone reading stereo instructions.
