That's the style I've been going for with these videos. TH-camrs tend to over-produce videos like they are National Geographic or something. They are a bit out-of touch or maybe just trying harder than they have to.
I sure miss walking down Harajuku for the electric atmosphere. Omotesando nearby has some great cafes and restaurants tucked away if you want to take a breather somewhere quieter.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest reason I love Japanese culture, is their politeness in day to day life. Like, "thank you for your help", "please take care of me", "thank you for your hard work" are thrown around so much on a daily basis, and also those were said to the people of the same level. I mean, I can understand if it's said to a teacher, or your boss, or something, but to the people of the same level? Who does that anywhere else??

I don't know if you will ever see this but you are honestly my inspiration and you got me started on learning Japanese and now I am learning 7 languages because I love to learn them. I just want to say thank you so so so much for just being you and sharing your love of making friends with different languages with everyone! I now have amazing friends from China, Japan, Spain, Malay, and Korea. I am moving to Korea in a year and a half and that has been my goal for 11 years but I just didn't have any big motivation to learn Korean just yet but now I am studying every single day. Something I like about Japan is the huge variety of possible styles that a person can have, you can see yourself very colorful, very dark, very rare ... there are so many styles and they are all happy in their own way, just amazing :)

I am pleasantly surprised to see you carrying the Tower Records plastic bag, I had to rewind to ascertain that my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me, cause that is so 80s! OMG! In the 80s and 90s, whenever I travelled, I always look out for Tower Records as I used to collect vinyl records, especially those single 7 inch, I still have them. Anyway thanks for bringing a little fond memories for me!

Very cool, @OrientalPearl, as in my college years (early 80's) when I first went to Japan, there was always someone in Harajuku just like your new friends, and they were all pretty chill and liked to talk to others, in Japanese and some English as well. As a male, it was not hard to chat with females there, but you had to be respectful and polite when chatting otherwise some younger Japanese girls will walk away, thinking you might be wanting something else...lol Surprised that Tokyo still has more people roaming around, as here in San Francisco, its like a "ghost town", not many people in the streets due to the virus, but the city laws here are more strict than in Tokyo right now. You should do a video where they dress you up in decora fashion and walk around! That would be very cool and a great way to experience the subculture firsthand. You don’t have to be a participant though, your videos always offer a lovely lens into worlds we don’t always see.
