      Maybe The Falcons as well as the other 30 NFL teams (excluding being fired by The Pats) crunched the numbers as well as the analytics and did the statistical forensics (Perhaps even using AI) and came to the conclusion that Belichick was an overrated fraud who could not win without Brady. I had a lil fun with it myself and did a little research and i came up with ⬇

  • @garyjones9023
    @garyjones9023 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If you're a GM, you don't want to hire Belichick & have him take over your job responsibilities to "buy the groceries". Belichick is 71, so if you're in a tear-down & rebuild mode, and looking for a coach for the next 10-20 years, it makes actuarial sense to hire a younger coach. So the market for Belichick narrows down to a "win-now" team that thinks they're good enough to be a Super Bowl contender, but for some reason wants to fire their current coach, and also doesn't mind throwing their current GM under the bus as well.

I look at guys who got jobs this offseason or in the last few years: Quinn, Morris, Staley, Allen, Eberflus, etc. It’s laughable that owners seriously believe Bill isn’t worthy of a job compared to these other guys. The reasons why BB isn't a HC has all to do with his age than anything else. I guarantee you if he was 10 years younger he'd have a HC/GM job on an NFL team.
    No owner would want to upend their team for a HC that may stay, at most, 5 years knowing the HC that follows couldn't hold a candle to the previous HC. Said owners has seen most coaches in the BB tree can't coach like BB. It'd be a dead end for what? A small chance you get the GOAT coach to take a team to the SB in 5 years w/o the GOAT QB? No way.

    The NFL is fully a "quarterback" game now. Coaches who abandon or even do not fully support their quarterbacks are history and Owners talk to each other. Also, quartebacks who do not fully propel their team to the playoffs within a reasonable time or fans are not fully buying into their QB, are history in record time now. Bill will likely never coach an NFL team again. Owners want coaches that cheerlead and not a relic of time that has passed.

    As much criticism/scrutiny as the Patricia/Judge thing got, it didn't get enough. It was the single-biggest, strategic-level coaching blunder I've ever seen. Any other coach would've been told 1) Hell no, you're not doing that (or, appropriately, "it's 110% on you now") and 2) sure as hell gotten fired for it. That Bill not only did it, blatantly failed and then WANTED TO RUN IT BACK says a LOT about why no one wants to hire him and put up with Bill being Bill. If anyone hasn't noticed (esp. during Bill's EXCRUCIATING, excusefest pressers that weirdly became his NORM during the past 3 seasons), BILL IS NEVER WRONG. THIS, and being over 70, and probably wanting, oh, at least $15M/per are why he doesn't have a job. It's not hard to figure out AT ALL.

    I don't know why this is surprising to anyone. Belichick was only a great coach with Brady, he was a terrible GM, the last two or three season in New England didn't go well, he would expect a big salary and total control of a team, and he's pushing 72 years old. If a desperate team wanted to sign him to a cheap, short-term contract then maybe, but it didn't happen. He needs to retire.

    No one questions what he was and what he knows, but times have changed. The reasons he'll never coach again are 1) he clearly doesn't possess the ability to relate to and properly motivate this new generation of players who were raised under positive re-enforcement rather than Bill's classic negative re-enforcement methods and 2) he is a terrible evaluator of talent while also demanding to be the team's GM. No NFL team is signing up for the Darth Bill, post-70, last hoorah revenge tour train fire because it's going to absolutely sink and destroy the franchise that buys into it and set them back half a decade or more.

    I'm not saying that Belichick couldn't win again in the right situation (accepting a GM who he isn't the boss of would be the big one), but this was about two minutes of "Bill Belichick screwed up the Patriots over the last few years" and seven minutes of "He should be a coach somewhere because he tells good stories." (Again, I think he probably could be successful in another setting, but talking for four hours about a game 30 years ago doesn't necessarily mean you can make it work now...I wouldn't be surprised if Tiger Woods could give a shot-by-shot recounting of his first Masters, but that doesn't mean he's winning it this year.)

      The one thing I think about is that Matt became a head coach and had that experience, so he had to pay special attention to that side of the ball a lot. Another thing is, Matt is very smart. Like, really, really, highly intellectual (don't let the pencil behind the ear fool ya haha). Belichick is also very gifted in those areas. Maybe they connect on a different level. With all of that said, it was very odd. But he replaced him with a noted offensive coordinator in O'Brien, and I would say Patricia did a better job.

      I didn't know McDaniel's coached Brady at Michigan when he threw for 4 TD's and 400 yards in that Orange Bowl game against +21 point favorite Alabama with the best defense in the nation. Same as when Brady led the entire NFL in TD's passing in only his 2nd season. How about when Brady lighted up Carolina in the (03) SB win. How about 01 where The Pats went from a 28th ranked offense to 6th overnight in 2001 with Brady?

    Hi Rich, big fan of the show here. It’s gotten lazy and tiring to qualify Mac Jones as a good QB because of his rookie season. He simply wasn’t up to the challenge. Exhibit A is the game in Buffalo where he wasn’t allowed to throw at all. If we all can see it, then you too should absolutely end all excuses upon him. Let me be more clear, Mac Jones is a worse than Zach Wilson. At least the latter had some velocity and chemistry with his mum’s friends.
    It explains why he dropped in the draft and the only fault to level on Bill is picking him at 15th overall. Still love the show but we actually watched all the games and it’s wasn’t Bill repeatedly handling the ball to the other teams. Don’t@me

    Rich seems to have forgotten the rhetorical question, “what have you done for us lately?” Mac Jones’ second year seemed to be more about Belichick trying to re-teach his coaching proteges about how the offense should be handled than by actually developing a good quarterback, with the result that Mac fell apart and couldn’t recover. And Belichick’s failure to recruit and develop talent in the post-Brady era resulted in the Pats’ losing record the past two years. Teams won’t hire a HC with a losing record unless it’s at a lesser position like a coordinator, which Belichick probably wouldn’t accept.
