@Al-ji4gd he definitely isn't above. Zidane might be = or just below Iniesta. Zidane was very inconsistent and only liked playing in the games he cared about. @@Al-ji4gd look Zidane is a great and all I'm saying is that Iniesta is greater. Iniesta also had many injures in that era and had to overcome a death in his inner circle and he still managed to be consistent while playing. Zizou had maybe 4 years as a good baller but like I said before not enough to make his team better at Real Madrid. That UCL volley solidifies his consistency that year? Give me a break.. he dribbled for far too long at times instead of giving a simple pass. Thats why people think he was this graceful dribbling master because he would hold on too the ball with those long legs of his and "dance around the field". His dribbling style would slow down play when they needed to speed things up. R9 made Zidane's passing look better than what they actually were when they played together at Madrid. At Juve he was better and I can see why he was great there. No arguments there but at Madrid the only thing he had going there wad that UCL volley and inconsistent play throughout those years. In my opinion, the best to play in that position. Glides with the ball at his feet. I've noticed this a lot with these Spanish midfielders actually, they accelerate with a lot more control while dribbling so that at pace the ball is within reasonable distance to them, rather than just heaving the ball forward and sprinting on to it with another heavy touch.
The absolute definition of chasing shadows on a football pitch - was facing Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets in their prime - just a peerless midfield with marvellous chemistry. Also, Iniesta was one of the fastest players I have seen in his speed carrying the ball (I don't mean outright sprint speed) - he had genuine acceleration on the ball and could slalom past people!
