    Actual description: Now that this engine has been ported and powder coated, it is finally time to put it back together... so let's get into it. If you haven't seen my Lowered Expectations teardown video, you will have missed some of the issues that I found when I took this thing apart... It has some crank issues, but we will deal with that in the future.

    This week I ended up with 6 triple triple 98-2001 Kawasaki's of various styles 4 has great compression and 2 is a ? I thank you for these videos I like to go fast. I love how you shoe horned that sucker in the stand up.

      That's a lot of triples... not sure if it's a blessing or a curse, haha!!
      It's not easy to squeeze them into a stand up, but it sure is fun.

      Thanks ! I ended up having to go back 3 times and make changes after I had already started uploading the video, haha. Fortunately I was a little ahead of schedule (for uploading) so I was able to make the changes. Thanks for noticing, haha.

    I'm surprised you didn't o ring the head. Looks amazing as always. It would be so cool if we can get our 1100 builds working perfect at the same place and time! really cool video. Just gets me excited for next time you come over! I just made some tools for my crank building project. Hoping my press plate works. It's completely different than what you did. I thought of it and made it in an hour so it might be trash.

      Haha... O-ring head sounds like a good idea. Maybe if / when I have more time. That would be awesome if we both have good working 1100s ... almost unheard of, also, haha. There's more than one way to skin a cat, as they say... so hopefully your crank tools work !

      Thanks ! I'm also very excited to hear it again. I'm struggling now trying to decide where and how to mount the new CDI... I think I've decided what I'm going to do... now I just need to do it, haha.

    Haha I'm a little bummed by the stator cover but oh well! Lol. Is the reason for machining off the "grippy bits" or whatever they are called from the nuts for ease of disassembly?

      Haha... I'm sure I will use it at some point. The reason for removing the grippy bits is that I believe they give a false torque reading and tear up your head... Kinda like when you add grease you get more clamping force from the same torque... When you have all the drag from those grippy bits, it's not creating as much clamping force as it would without them. Also, I feel like they have to "set in" where a flat surface is seated from the get go.

      I assume you are talking about not using a base gasket ? I decided not to use a base gasket for a few reasons. I normally reuse the metal base gaskets for this a few times before having to replace it, so I didn't have one on hand, and wanted to get it back together. Also, I am more than likely going to be taking this engine back apart in the near future, as it has some bearings in the crank that are noisy.
      I have rebuilt many engines in the past without using a base gasket, and never had an issue because of it. You do need to be aware of changing your port timing and also reducing your squish clearance, but the gasket is very thin on these engines, so I'm not concerned about it.

    13:55 ...yo, ever think of filling the cutouts with a clear epoxy?

      I have thought of vacuum formed plastic or laying carbon on the inside, but never clear epoxy 🤔 …. Due to the shape and height it would be difficult each section would have to be done individually… some of them may even take several applications to get the job done.
      It would have to be poured onto a backing, and that backing would determine the shape and surface finish.
      It could totally be done, but I’m sure it would be quite a bit of work. I may be overthinking some easier methods of application.

      hmm.. maybe use the vacuum formed plastic as the mold for each individual epoxy pour and some sort of jig to keep each pour level.. totalboat makes some nice tabletop clear and thickset clear epoxys.. it would be a lot of work any which way lol... but it would also be sick.

      @@squaredealshoes9964 Yeah. It would be nice if you could just fill it, but there's not much clearance in there ince the flywheel is installed so each individual cavity would have to be filled for sure. It would look awesome.
