    Good job, it looks great also it’s nice that you were able to keep from going way over the top with the port job. And further more I think there was a fish in the middle of the video?

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks ! It would be cool if it worked better. The exhaust porting is supposed to free up 6 hp, from what I’ve read. Haha. The fish is me making fun of the way I talk, and seeing if anyone would notice. It’s a Walleye fish , and instead of saying “while I” I say “walleye”.

    Joel you are a humble bad ass!! Nice work bro on a tasteful port job! Clean and not overly radical, perfect IMO.
    I personally think you should run your skelotonized flywheel cover! You keep your stuff so nice I highly doubt a random bolt will ever be rolling around your engine bay that could pose a problem!

      Thanks Tim. Let's hope we get some great results out on the water !
      That's a great idea with the skeletonised cover... With the zeeltronics all the ignition really rempeds on is the trigger coil... so all the stator will be doing is charging the battery. I plan on unwinding the exciter coil to get rid of some parasitic drag.
      Good thinking... I'll have to powdercoat it ...

      @Joel Arseneault I've never seen a skelotonized flywheel cover I don't think on anything! That will be pretty exciting I think to any motorhead seeing that! For that reason alone I hope you do it!

      🤣... "Vevor rotary flex shaft tool" is stuck in your head now, isn't it.... I'm a great salesman. I'm afraid that eventually they are going to send me something that I can't recommend to people... Speaking of...
      Guess what they are sending me this week ?! .... Give up ? OK... a welder, haha. Not the same as yours ... they call it a 3 in 1 but really it's a MIG that you can scratch start TIG and stick weld IF you have a stinger.... but hey, it's a free welder. They were supposed to send me a TIG, but things got messed up a little.

    What type of epoxy did you use? A link would be great!

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used squid boat epoxy ... but you don't need to use a specific brand. I have 3-4 different epoxies and used it because it's inexpensive (relatively) and doesn't have to be top quality. I mixed in some milled fibres to make it a little stronger (you don't need to) it also makes it a little thicker.
      You could use JB weld or any type of epoxy, really, but JB Weld would be very expensive to fill this volume. All you really care about is filling the cavity, so that when you grind through, there's not a giant air pocket that makes the flow worse, instead of better. The area will be sealed by the gasket surface, and the epoxy won't really add any strength.

    Oh man sweet! Wonder how much you’ll gain from all that porting? Black and green is a great combo, but now you’ll have to do the bars, exhaust, water box… lol I got really far on my project but had a GoPro problem and lost all my footage… damn thing…

      I use a GoPro, and I feel your pain. It has screwed me over so many times. Glad to hear you’re getting stuff done !
      I should do the bars and stuff eh, haha. Once you get started you have to do everything. Doing the water box might be a nightmare as it will be full of oil haha.
      For power, it have read that just a little porting on the exhaust will give an extra 6hp… but I didn’t go real aggressive… so I’d say in total 6-8 hp

    • @AtimatikArmy
      @AtimatikArmy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Joel Arseneault probably a good idea to make sure it's at least blended together well but they will mix. Our colors from our paint booth was mostly red and blue, then black, day-glo green, orange, & silver mostly. The combination came out to a really cool purple that had almost like a fine metal flake look to it up close from all the different particles. We called it Blurple and it was actually surprisingly cool looking. (I should add, at least that was my personal opinion of it!)

    As a long time viewer of yours, I'm hoping I can respectfully make a suggestion to you that you do not take the wrong way. I think it would be beneficial to your viewers to give your sponsor a short shout out in the video and then leave it alone.. I think you mentioned them about 38 times (not literally, but it was a lot lol). I enjoy the content though, thank you!

    • @JoelArseneaultYouTube
      @JoelArseneaultYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your input, I do appreciate it. I will keep it in mind for the future.
      There are a few reasons for the multiple shoutouts / mentions. Probably the biggest reason is that I'm genuinely amused by how all this came to be, I'm excited about the actual tool, and I'm excited what this could mean for my channels.
      I'm excited that a company wants to work with me... This could convince other companies to do the same. I'm a pretty small channel and as such I'm not selling a large number of products for them. My over the top mentions goes a long way to convincing them to send me more stuff. They are sending me a welder this week, and it won't show up on this channel at all, I suspect.
      My plan is to have most of the detailed promotional stuff on my other channel. It may turn out that my other channel, and funding from those tools is what keeps this channel alive, because I have lost money on it for the past 6 years.

      @@JoelArseneaultTH-cam that makes sense honestly and I'm glad that this company is hooking you up!
      It seems that being a TH-cam creator as a source of income can be challenging, especially in a small market like the jet ski community. Like I said though, I enjoy seeing your content and hope you keep at it! Excited to see what you do with that 997 KV engine haha. I just bought a Krash without an engine/pump and am putting all Yamaha components in it.
      I'll have to check out your other channel, I haven't yet.. Not enough time in the day for everything 😂 thanks Joel!

      I am also excited about the KV997. I have big plans for it eventually, but I don't know how all that will work out. A Krash with Yamaha stuff should be dependable, if nothing else ! haha. That's a pretty cool project.
      My other channel started out as a place to post extras, outtakes and random updates... and then it turned into a channel that could stand on its own. Not sure where it will go.

      @@JoelArseneaultTH-cam I kinda wished I could have tried out the 997. I have the feeling with a little porting, and going through it, they can be powerful and reliable. Unfortunately that was out of my budget. This should be a fun ski though. Starting out with a 61x 701 that I'm porting, and the usual bigger carb and b pipe. Just a 144 stock pump with a super cone/pump stuffer. It will get upgraded down the road with money and time allows. I gotta say though, krash definitely cut some corners on certain parts of the hull/components bolted to it.

      @@240sxxxvids I'm really excited to try the 997... I have no idea what to expect, but I'm guessing it won't totally suck, haha.
      I don't have any experience with Yamaha stuff as far as mods go, but the 701 seems to be a capable engine and with a few mods to free up power, there's no reason it shouldn't be a blast to ride. What were you riding before this ?
      What sort of corner cutting components were used ? I'm curious.
