Great video - thank you. I liked the very clear explanation of Ribosomal RNA (that it doesn't need anything else to code, compared to the DNA where it needs Helicase, RNA Primers, Ligase, etc.) I also really enjoyed learning about the difference between the mRNA in prokaryotes vs. Eukaryotes. It's interesing that the Introns do not have a specific purpose, so the mRNA, is made up of what's left over after the splicing takes place (exons) of that "pre- mRNA".
Again - I greatly enjoyed this video, thank you!

Since this video has been uploaded one thing has been discovered. In termination, right after the hairpin is formed a bunch of Adenine's are present in the DNA, this makes it so that A lot Uracil's are transcribed. The bond between A en U (also T) is quite weak, with only 2 hydrogen bonds formed. So the pre-mRNA falls off.

The RNA being transcripted has the same sequence as the coding strand (with the Uracil replacing Thymine), BUT they don't have "the same information".
If the coding strand were being transcribed here, it'll give a different RNA sequence, therefore a different order of codons, which eventually gives different amino acids (different protein). So yeah, not the same information =)

My hypothesis on the usefulness / reason of introns and splicing: if you would be a virus, wouldn't your ultimate dream be to find a way to insert your dna/rna into the human's dna, so that if that human has a child, every cell in that child would have the genetic code and instruction to start producing you as a virus, so you would be in every cell of that kid. The introns are a safety mechanism to prevent that from happening: the virus doesn't now where to put the introns beside/in its genetic code, because they will be spliced out.
