Mangal Pandey was hanged to death for attacking his officers in Barrackpore. Some sepoys refused to do the army drill as the new cartridges were suspected of being raised by the fat of cows and pigs. Many were dismissed from service or sentenced to jail for 10 years. this was a major cause of the revolt

After the outbreak of the mutiny in Meerut, the rebels quickly reached Delhi, whose 81-year-old Mughal ruler, Bahadur Shah Zafar, was declared the Emperor of Hindustan. Soon, the rebels had captured large tracts of the North-Western Provinces and Awadh

How did rebellion spread?
After the British were routed from Delhi, there was no uprising for almost a week. Then, a spurt of mutinies began in other parts of India. (i) Regiment after regiment mutinied and took to join other troops at nodal points like Delhi, Kanpur and Lucknow. After them, the people of the towns and villages also rose in rebellion. They rallied around local leaders, zamindars and chiefs who were prepared to establish their authority and fight the British. (ii) Nana Saheb, the adopted son of the late Peshwa Baji Rao who lived near Kanpur, gathered armed forces and expelled the British Garrison from the city. He proclaimed himself Peshwa. He delcared that he was a Governor under emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. (iii) In Lucknow, Birjis Qadr, the son of the deposed Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, was proclaimed the new Nawab. He too acknowledged the suzerainty of Bahadur Shah Zafar. In Jhansi, Rani Lakshmibai joined the rebel sepoys, fought the British, and declared Tantia Tope, the General of Nana Saheb. (iv) A situation of widespread rebellion also developed in the region of Awadh. Many new leaders also came up and joined the revolt. Ahmadullah Shah, a maulvi from Faizabad, raised a large force of supporters. He came to Lucknow to fight the British. (v) In Delhi, a large number of religious warriors came together to wipe out the white people. Bakht Khan, a soldier from Bareilly, took charge of a large force of fighters who came to Delhi. In Bihar, an old zamindar, Kunwar Singh, joined the rebel sepoys and battled with the British for several months.

Rebillon first started from meerut when sepoys marched in the meerut jail and released the imprisoned sepoys. They set fire to the building. Then they went to bhadur Shah Zafar and asked him to be their leader , bhadur Shah being old at that time still agreed and wrote letters to many cheifs and rulers of country to come forward and fight Britishers together. Then regiment after regiment mutinied and after the people of town and villages also rose up to rebillon. Many fighters like Nana saheb from Bihar , Lakshmi Bai from jhansi gathered people against Britishers. Britishers were outnumbered and they were defeated in the battles....
Rebellions spread when people face injustice, heavy taxes, or oppression. Once a group revolts, others with similar problems join in, and leaders help unite them. Communication of ideas and shared discontent helps the rebellion grow, as seen in the 1857 Revolt in India.🖤🖤

rebellion spread as most of the kings, their kingdoms and common people were unhappy due to the activities of Britishers benefitting themselves instead of Indians(they were ruling for their own benefits only) and many rigid policies made by the britishers to reach the maximum profit by lowering the authorities of Indians
After regiment mutinied and took of to join other trips at nodal points like Delhi Kanpur and Lucknow.

Bhaiya subsidiary alliance matlab hota hai - According to the terms of this alliance, Indian rulers were not allowed to have their independent armed forces. They were to be protected by the Company, but had to pay for the "subsidiary forces" that the company was supposed to maintain for the purpose of this protection. If the Indian rulers failed to make the payment, then part of their territory was taken away as penalty. For example, when Richard Wellesley was Governor- General (1798-1805), the Nawab of Awadh was forced to give over half of his territory to the Company in 1801, as he failed to pay for the "subsidiary forces". Hyderabad was also forced to cede territories on similar grounds.

Soon, the rebels had captured large tracts of the North-Western Provinces and Awadh. thank you sir... Monday is my paper and you helped me to understand the CHAPTER COMEPLETELY
The rebellion was spread to other parts of the country as sepoys started protect religions of our country and they marched past towards red fort and proclaimed Bahadur Shah Zafar as their chief, then the old ruler writes letter to all cheifs and rulers of India to come together and let's outnumber the number of brithish and we will get independence. And by various regiments of sepoys which spread at nodal points like Delhi,Kanpur and Lucknow
The causes of the Revolt of 1857 divide themselves into political, social, economic, military and religious heads,
(i) Among the political causes Dalhousie’s occupation of Satara, Sambalpur, Nagpur, Jhansi and stoppage of the payment of allowance to the ruling houses of Tanjore, Carnatic as well as of Nana Sahib, annexation of Oudh on the plea of maladministration were not only immoral but also shocking to the Indian conscience for they revealed the utter selfishness of the British and the total disregard of immemorial Hindu customs.
The barbarous conduct on the part of the British in carrying away not only treasures of the Nagpur palace but also the cows, horses and elephants and the furniture of the royal palace and selling them at nominal price showed the lack of minimum decency and courtesy that a royal house could reasonably expect from the British and tarnished the name of the British race as a whole.

For half a century prior to the outbreak of the Revolt of 1857 the hatred of the .... The sepoys of the disbanded 34th Regiment spread the news of the revolt in other parts of the country. Community Answer How had the rebellion spread to other parts of the country? Rebellion Spreading Across the Country The rebellion, also known as a revolt or uprising, was a significant event in history where a group of people actively resisted or fought against a government or ruling authority. In this case, we will explore how the rebellion spread to other parts of the country. Local Grievances and Discontent One of the primary factors contributing to the spread of the rebellion was the existence of local grievances and discontent among various regions within the country. These grievances could include economic hardships, social inequality, political repression, or cultural suppression. When people face such challenges and feel oppressed, they are more likely to join a rebellion and fight for their rights and freedom. Communication and Networking Communication played a crucial role in spreading the rebellion. As the revolt gained momentum in one area, the news of the uprising and its objectives would quickly spread to neighboring regions. This was facilitated through various means of communication, such as messengers, word of mouth, and even the distribution of pamphlets or written materials. The discontented individuals or groups would then connect with each other, forming a network of rebels across different parts of the country. Inspiration and Solidarity As the rebellion grew and gained recognition, it inspired and motivated people from other regions to join the cause. News of successful rebellions or notable acts of resistance would inspire others to take action and stand against the ruling authority. The rebellion would then become a symbol of hope and solidarity for those who felt marginalized or oppressed. Leadership and Organization Effective leadership and organization were crucial in spreading the rebellion. Charismatic leaders emerged within the movement, rallying people and providing direction. These leaders would travel to different regions, mobilizing and organizing local communities to join the cause. Their persuasive speeches and ability to unite people under a common goal were instrumental in spreading the rebellion to other parts of the country. Repression and Escalation In some cases, the government's response to the initial rebellion could further escalate the situation and prompt the spread of the uprising. Harsh crackdowns, violent suppression, or acts of brutality by the ruling authority often angered and outraged the population, leading to an increase in support for the rebellion. The more the government tried to suppress the revolt, the more determined people became to resist, resulting in the rebellion spreading to other regions. Overall, the rebellion spread to other parts of the country due to a combination of local grievances, effective communication, inspiration, leadership, and the government's response to the initial uprising. These factors created a chain reaction, igniting the flames of resistance and encouraging people from different regions to join the cause. Attention Class 8 Students! 30:17 The rebellion was started from the mutiny of the sepoy in India. Then, they joined the troops of the nodal centers like Kanpur, Lucknow, Faizabad, and Delhi. In the countryside, the people of the village also rose in the rebellion as they felt that there was a high tax charged by the Britishers and protested against zamindars, local leaders, and officials. Resulting in the decrease population of British East India company officials.
