Thankyou for the tip about the metal sheeting!!! Ive been concerned about the moisture level in my backyard, and your video just gave me a solution in the first few seconds 😂
The pots you all have made are beautiful! One clay I gathered from the base of an old fallen tree and it was really bendable but very sandy. It had a greenish hue to it. Another one was from the edge of a stream but it breaks when I try to coil it but when it dries it is like a rock and cool grey. I have never fired anything before but want to soon.
@Ri m, I havent fired it yet but want to. It would be the 1st time for me firing anything and if it broke, I would not know if it was my fault or the wrong type of clay.
Do you think it is glacial clay? If you do fire yours, please let me know how it turns out. After I tried rolling mine into a coil & it broke, I added some vinegar to it and it helped make it more plastic. I once found some clay by the roots of an old large tree that had fallen. The clay was very sandy but amazing in how plastic it was. I have never worked with store bought clay so I do my best to describe it after watching many YT videos. Tony makes it look so easy and I wish I could send some samples to him to test out.

You so calmly and clearly explain tips about what you’re doing. That’s the first time I’ve seen metal on the bottom of the fire.
Right that is so helpful
thank you for this video with the art and singing - an important way to fire pots that more people need to know about
Thank you. Your videos are giving me courage to make my own clay and fire at home. Your friends sing real nice, too.
Those guys are good singers! Very nice pots, cracks or no cracks!

Did you ever fire the grey clay

I have never seen a firing quite like this. I wish I where there!
I agree with other comments, great firing video and the singers really made special.

Hey Tony, any chance you will post some videos on knapping? I am enjoying the videos 🤜🏻
I just have that one, maybe someday
I wish I could send you some of the clay I have processed to see what you think of it. If you have classes, I would like to learn.
Yea same I'd love to see what a real pro would think of the glacial clay I found
