Looking good! Great initiative and valuable skills to develop and apply! If you have time in your project you should experiment with some more additives and techniques. Like adding ashes to the mix. Also I learned after burning the bricks to soak them in milk for days and it soaks up the oily fats making it water proof. Ancient Romans used salt water to mix their brick. And in the Bible it mentions using tar as mortar. Something that can be made by burning wood using inside a metal container inside another metal container with a drain or something? Like the wood inside doesn't burn but melts the wood sap and becomes a very strong thick black waterproof goo that can hold bricks together maybe? Also I hear mixing your Adobe with starch water can also make it stronger. Try some small samples of these and see how they work if you have extra time. Maybe you can create super bricks!!! 😲👍
You're breaking your back! Make a work table and stand up straight. You'll make better bricks faster. A little more water the clay should immediately take the form of the mold. Mix in dirt like like flower to bread doe on a bread board, Dirt keeps it from sticking to the mold. (Sprinkler Dirt like flower over the clay) then plop it in the mold, harder... you'll get a perfect brick. Use those to set the floor foundation. Congratulations on your new home...
When firing bricks, is there a such thing as too big? I want to use my metal box i use for making cement blocks which is 6in wide x 9in high x 18in. Long. Can i fiire a block this size?
place your table next to where you're working. You have a lot of work to do your wasting a lot of time walking back and forth to make those bricks. If you put that table close to where you're working. You'd be a lot faster... Peace, love, and happiness my brotha
Fired bricks will stop stray bullets. Protect your family.
Absolutely
Then you'd better have a brick in your ass!
