watched the community celebration with exhibition matches a couple days ago. what's crazy to me is how jumping is actually viable. other 3D fighters play like it might as well not exist.
Ich habe gerade Vanessa in diesem gesucht und mein Gehirn musste sich neu vernetzen. Ich bin zwar mit anderen Fightern vertraut, aber Virtua Fighter ist immer noch so großartig, wie ich mich erinnere.
Honestly, seeing virtue fighters simplicity is a breath of fresh air. All other fighting games rely on new mechanic systems, and complex inputs to get the damage done. Not thats a bad thing, it's quite fun to do. But VF just being very simple with just dodge and hit is very nice. Just feels like an honest fight.
Always enjoyed Virtua's clean strikes. No massive explosions or cinematic angles, no flashing screens where you can't see what happened. You can see the hit placement and the mechanical result...like he literally punched dude in the knee and there was a reaction.
0 frames of input delay is so immediately better in every way that it's absurd that it took this long to get here. People can finally legitimately actually for real play the game how it's supposed to be played, and feel it how it's supposed to be felt. VF renaissance hopefully as long as sega doesn't pull a sega
The best part about VF is not having to wait 5 seconds every-time you get hit to play the game again. Decisions happen very fast and you often have 3 or more options you can make in any given advantage or disadvantage you are put in. It's why people often say the game feels balanced at all levels of play, there's just so much control and options for both players and the game never takes that away from you with a super meter, huge combo extensions or come-back mechanics (well besides ring outs, lol)
Since I laid my eyes on the VF1 at a local arcade in the summer of 1993, I knew it was the FUTURE. For those of us who played fighting games in the 90s, there was a broad consensus (by mid 90s) that the 2D fighting game was obsolete and on the way out (even Capcom and SNK tried to make 3D versions of their big franchises). It's funny that most new fighting game titles that came out in 2020s (thirty years later) are predominantly 2D fighters with anime graphics. Back in the 90s, the "dream" of all fighting game developers was to (eventually) represent real martial arts on the TV screen. After the maturity of CG in early 2000s, it seemed that the dream was realized and the developers (as well as the players) suddenly lost their interest. Enough for the rant. VF is back.
I remember in the early 2000s if you played even 3rd Strike or even KNEW what Mark of the Wolves or any 2D that wasn’t Marvel or CvS you stood out. By the time SF4 came out things changed in a big way
Being a Pai player, it is really easy to figure her out when playing against more amateur players. She has tons of high attacks that you can easily duck and punish. Even with that low kick to a roundhouse that the opponent was doing, you can take the first hit and still duck under the roundhouse and punish. BIG! It breaks down to this. If Pai is foing a 3 combo starting woth 3 punches, just duck and block. It either ends over your head and punishable, or low, blocked and punishable. She seems overwhelming but you can easily overcome it.
Best netcode in a fighting game BY FAR! I've had such a smooth experience, I can't wait for January 27th, the only issue with this game is that there just aren't enough players, which makes sense, considering Sega has been neglecting VF for YEARS, it's crazy to think that it's already been over 3 years since Ultimate Showdown.
Can't wait for VF6/VF reboot. But VF5 Revo can tide me over for now. I just wished it didn't come out so close to Dynasty warriors Origins. EDIT: ok that Jean player is on some serious adderall. wtf was that?! 8:39
So happy we are getting Virtua fighter back! I’d also love Nintendo would get one or a collection of older games. Was very pissed off to not have VF4 for GameCube (borrowed ps2 from my friend to play it) or VF5 for WiiU.
A Sega Fighting Collection akin to the Capcom ones would be nice. Maybe throw in Fighters Megamix and Sonic the Fighters (with the fixed version of Honey from the PS3/X360 release).
same like what happened to VF5 revo today, i think if tekken didnt so revolutionary fast in their combat system, i think T5 would still able to sell today. but i also started to interested to VF as well! gotta play this game ASAP....

Sega fumbled Vf so hard. No reason it shouldn’t be as big as Tekken. It’s even a better game to spectate in an increasingly e sport pandering market. Glad they’re on the right track now though very excited
It has nothing to do with the game Sega just made a bunch of bad investments and had to close doors on most of their projects This new revival is only happening bcs of Saudi investors

Yeah the "Absorb Delay through Google Servers Netcode" only works in Japan cause they have 10 Google Servers. US has 3, Europe has 4, and Africa had NONE when the game was released. Then it does some weird stuff connecting to the first server available instead of the closest.

In virtua fighter everything is viable
Jumping beats lows, and 2p, and it has mix up properties on wake up.

My favorite thing about VF is that it has sidesteps that work. 1:14
The crispiest 🤌
Definitely top of my list of things I hope don't change in 6.
very essential
I wonder if the blocking will have a mètre based system?

That sounds like every fighting game ever minus 1 button.

VF Revo at Evo would be sick. I hope it joins the main stage next year. Can't wait for EVO Japan tho cause last year was easily the most hype tourney.
VF looking way better than I seen Max played last time. & the upcoming 1 looks sick!!! VF on the Rise!
Get em Max. Get em! Akira is a pretty tough character to play with.
Pogged when Max did a Tetsuzankou, it was like neuron activation
Its the coolest fighting move but also has the sickest input. I recommend everyone learns Akira if not just for the dopamine of the Tetsuzanko
bro I need to learn myself some VF, this game looks sick
it spawned tekken and soul caliburs large movelist, vf just kinda refines it down to essentials.
It is sick! That's why so many people are hyped it's making a huge comeback 🔥

I love your video Max
I’m really sick, thanks for uploading great content Max it makes me feel better ❤

Battle Arena Toshinden too
Unlikely, until it's out of Konomi's clutches.

I think it got remastered from my understanding. Game looks amazing tho and runs super smooth
5 Ultimate Showdown ported the game to the Dragon engine used by RGG studio, that's why the game looks so good.
