Yo Mullet, I got a 74 XL 175 that has been stuffed and it is bad ass, I call it my Harley Slayer, one hooligan made the mistake of getting into our class @ indoor winter short track. I smoked his ass up! Nice video! Thanks for posting!

Great video. I haven't been to Aonia since 2009/2010 at the last AHRMA event I rode trials in. I remember when they were first building that track and help the first event.

You answered my question about the the gas tank with your reply to Frank Dillon. Nice bike. I quit racing a couple of years ago but still go out on practice days on my stock framed, but modified , XL250's as well. Been out here in Northern California and raced at Lodi mostly. A lot of fun! I miss it.
I'm moving to North Carolina this spring and will be looking at the schedule of AHRMA and VDTRA also.
I like your ole Ford Van! I have 1969 Dodge A108 van as a hauler. I figured since I'm a Vintage rider, 78, I should have a vintage bike and a Vintage Van!

Nice! I lived in Redding California for a few years and they had some races out in Eureka. There are a lot of tracks around North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia to race at. Some are open just for practice days as well. There are only a handful of old vans around here, most of the van owners have motorcycles as well!

I'm definitely a honda, freak your
    Bike is definitely cool. I know that tank 1974 XL70, I own a 1974 xl 350 and 74 XL70 thay
match each other almost exactly . An old friend of mine
is a Speedway racer gave the
XL350 to keep me away speedway bikes. He calls me a
"Gear Boxer" the bike is almost
Ready, he's got a practice track at his house I think it's about time to show up some Speedway
    Guys.I had a xl 250 in the 80's I
Road that bike all over Washington state, I just rebuilt my XR650L with trick stuff inside , long story I love HONDA'S keep up the good work
    Old Hondas forever.
    THANK'S from NOR-CAL!!!!

Thanks! I lived in Redding, CA for a few years and miss all the old bikes around that area. They are a lot harder to find in good shape here on the East Coast. I have an XL70 Im working on too, that'll be the next project I finish.

I love your old school racer cabover Ford either Falcon or Econoline van with a 3 on the tree. 170, 200 or 240? My friend Charlie Wilson had the next generation Ford no window van. I guess if it was OK for Mert Lawill.....

Does it really have NO flywheel ? I got rid of the battery on mine since I have no lights but it still has the flywheel and all in it I'm just not charging a battery. I would have thought you would need some kind of flywheel even if you really lighten it.

    • @OneDownFourUp
      @OneDownFourUp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yea, no flywheel so I do have to run a battery for the ignition. There used to be lightened crankshafts and flywheels for the XL's but its really hard to find that now. Removing the flywheel with the stock crankshaft would be about the same weight as having a lightened crank and flywheel on it. The lighter weigh helps it spin up easier out of the turns in my opinion.

@@OneDownFourUp yeah, love all motorcycle racing especially flat track and TT. I live in Las Vegas mostly desert racing around here. one thing you didn't show on your engine build was the pushing down of the cam chain spring device and locking it,to give that needed room to slide the chain on the cam sprocket.no biggie I figured it out . I know you had to edit the video, it was very good info though. thanks I keep watching your videos.
