I LOVE old vehicles, especially motorcycles! I have an 03XR250R I ride and cherish. Your XL250 is absolutely beautiful. You clearly take great care of it!
If I remember your build right, you used a TL250 bottom end for the trials gear box. It sure tractors through the rough stuff like it does. Nice ride. I did that trail once while in the Air Force, stationed at the now closed George AFB, in Victorville, CA. Rode an '81 XL500, fully loaded with camping gear. Wish I had the balls to do it again at 66 years old, but I think those days are behind me. My first ever motorcycle I bought with my own money was a '72 XL250. Very capable ride.
That’s cool! It’s definitely not an easy trail especially with camping gear. The TL gear ratios are good for the type of riding I do where it’s slower on the trails but still has higher gears for the road.

It's like you're watchig the past, but in 4K :D That place is beautiful beyond words!
It's definitely one of my favorite places to ride.

It’s open all year but usually gets a lot of snow in the winter. It snowed a couple days after we finished the trail.
You in ashville ? Ok over there?
We made it, just without utilities for now, but they're slowly getting all the down powerlines and trees cleaned up. Thanks.
Pretty sure with that outfit this is considered Larping.
Thanks!
