It's actually the 2.4 diesel model GLD (D for diesel, petrol is GLi), very rare in Malaysia but very common in Indonesia, the 1.8 petrol engine is a lot quieter as far as I remember.
it’s a 2.4 diesel(2L engine). The 2.0 diesel(2c engine) was with it’s predecessor. There were two gas variants. One is with a 1.8(7k-e) and a 2.0(1rz). Only the gas variants came with auto trans, at least in the Philippines.
My uncles & auties also have an Unser like this one show on the video. One of my uncle have that gold colour like shown on the video. My uncle said he used it 8 years since he buy new at Toyota in the year 2001. He said his Unser never had a problem at all just periodic maintenence, preventive maintenence & change the wear & tear parts. He sold it in 2009 & replaced with a Camry. I see why many people buy Toyota also my father because of its proven realiability & durability. I'm also live at Kuching to 👋. I love your content because I also like reliable cars although im just 15 years old but I love cars & your English is good. It can improve my essay for subject English.
both diesel or gasoline engines are such a very tough engine.... with proper maintenance, they can surpass 600,000km tag line easily - without need to be ovehauled... great car
Is the engine changed to 2L diesel? I just driven the 7K E, even it already runs more than 1 millioin kms, but it is called Kijang here in Indonesia. I really love to drive this car. Good handling, big torque, spacious cabin 😁😁
The sound of the engine being loud and ' sounding like a lorry ' could be attributed to it being very old and probably with a maintenance issue , I own a newer Unser , well maintained and the engine purrs like a cat still.....or maybe a bigger cat like a lion LOL !
