I can't belive that this made it on the NES and yet RotJ didn't. I get why, cause the NES was a dead console by that point, but thats exactly why you'd think they'd have marketed it to the SNES or something. At the very least RotJ would have gotten more attention just cause it was a SW movie adaption.
I got this cartridge from friend and it was kind of damaged and however i tried couldnt play more than once and after may be 30 yrs after , I am currently playing latest indiana jones on my xbox x and after discovering this video. I explored this game lying on my emulator. All these days without knowing the actual name. Thanks a lot for your upload. This is fascinating nostalgic experience for me. ❤❤❤
I made it out of Mexico... I made it out of France... But, I did not made it out of German 😅.... For various playthrough myself in youngers day. Keep coming back till be able to survived from German and feel satisfied about it. One of the best NES game for me and a memorable one 👍. Gee...this Johnx895 is sure a pro player for this. Great young Indiana Jones playthrough, World of Longplays youtuber 👍.
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles for the NES, by Jaleco USA, from late 1992, is based on the Lucasfilm/Amblin/Paramount Television TV series of the same title, off of ABC in the early 90's, being released during the show's 2nd season (1992-93).
I didn't even know this game existed, until pretty recently, when I saw it at a friends house, and thought it looked amazing! I had always been a fan of the books and the tv-series.
I used to borrow this game to my neighbor when I was a kid and I occasionally return it to him. The farthest stage that I've been was in the falls something. And this one time I came to borrow it again, he said that his father disposed it, which saddens me because I could not finish it anymore. Oh this brings back memories.
I clearly remember I beat all the levels up to Von Richthofen. I don't quite remember if I was able to get further. What I remember most of all is the Jackal statuette. And I saw the series in 2008 for the first time. Hadn't even known it had been around all the time. How time flies.
I remember there being a cheat for this game. You just have to pause, then for the unpause you press up and start at the same time and you should respawsn with full health and with a pistol.
Ahhhh yes you press up and pause together a few times. I figured this out on my own. Always wanted to know if someone else figured it out. I thought my cartridge was faulty
It's unfortunate the Nerd won't be able to see the other levels since he gave up on the first level but here it's like this fella knows the ins and outs of this game after lots of trial and error and 100+ attempts to do this run with ease
I remember that when press (probably) start and up button simultaneously you could play some character with a gun instead of Indiana. Anyone remember something like this?
Can't attest how difficult Germany is since I never made it out of France. This game has a frustrating difficulty at various points where it borders on cheap, but I think it's still a decent platformer. Might be one those of cases where the license hurt more than it helped. I don't remember anyone watching or caring about the TV show, probably the reason nobody played it.
"This is the worst Indiana Jones game of all! This is below the standard of any human decency! I can't even believe this is real! Why'd they make level one so difficult?" - AVGN
i thought american exclusives are easier during the executions of localization. but this is not an example, for a game which had no Japanese Version, this is unfair asf. Even harder than Konami Batman Returns The only localized mistake i know is Ninja Gaiden 3 and Bayou Billy also Double Dragon 3, some underrated games like Scat changes from 3 lives defualt to 6. Indiana Jones video games are not supposed to be this hard tho, even this is better than other Nes titles
Damn, what a terrible portrayal of the Mexican history and revolution! Gameplay wise it's a good game , the music is cool as well, but the plot choice sucks, considering there are so many great Indiana Jones stories they could've picked up.
and i believe this is why the game never saw a release date over to the us.... hating on the mexicans for obvious reasons i see, and what better way to use that method? have a well known hero named "Indiana Jones" because we know he never once fought against Pancho Villa. Race taken in offence? no... just sort of wonder why all the hate...?
I guess you never watched the TV show The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles (which the game is based on, it's not based on the movies), in which the episode "The Curse of the Jackal: Mexico, March 1916" does show young Indy being captured by Pancho Villa and fighting in the Mexican Revolution. And as Hurricane Mixer pointed out, it was released in the US. You may want to consider doing some research before making a post like this again, because if you had you'd have known the events of the game have nothing to do with hating Mexicans, but rather, follows the storyline of the TV show pretty accurately.
This is an excellent game, but don't let these longplays fool you. Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is hard as hell!
That music... hidden somewhere in the depths of my memory... and suddenly I remember it.
That feeling when you played this game while being child and not knowing English, and finally being able to read cutscenes 25 years after
That's beautiful
ah, it has been 30 years now.
this has got to be one of the rarest and overshadowed NES games.

How proud of myself I was back then when I beat this game.
Way better than the other Indy NES games.
This is the only decent one if memory serves me well
Una Joya no reconocida del NES, MARAVILLOSO JUEGO

No.
Mike F Yes, it really is.
No. It's okay to enjoy shitty games though, dont worry.
Yes. It's not okay to have shitty taste, step your game up, Mike.
Mike F That was your best go-to catchphrase? “hurhur autism xD *likes own comment*” I should have expected as much, given your lack of taste.
daaamn, my childhood game, these themes give me goose bumps ^^
In old abandoned mine, sees bat, throws grenade.
Reasonable response

Gameplay was satisfying as hell on this game!

One of the best OST's in NES history, imho
Very far from the bests.
It'd make great listening material for Guantanamo Bay
Came here just to listen to music :)
Never knew this game existed in the NES library.
Makes my cry 😭😭 miss my child hood
it's remarkable how extremely little I remember about this game...
You're a pro this game was very hard!
Jorge Moleiro Probably thanks to re-recording and savestates (as they're using them in most of their videos..)
I remember there being a cheat for this game.

yup

I scrolled this much just to check if anyone else did this.. you sirs, are great. You should be proud of yourselves 🤟🏽

Gunman Clive must have definitely been inspired by this one. The resemblance is uncanny

I never forget this game the game best ever
Such a great times
ah, remember me when i was at junior school, such a great game
I play this game when I was at elementary school, and now I was 24 yo. 😁
Nostalgia
Great playing, and a decent looking game with a cool soundtrack. I remember this show. Kinda.
The best Indiana Jones game for NES, there's pretty much no contest there. It could've used some tweaks, but overall it's not bad at all.
That music in the stage 1... wow i told this is a great game in front f me
You are amazing. I could not destroy the fort.
good ol days...
Im 34 years old, im with tears in my eyes, i used to play this with my father, RIP😢😢
Best game
This game was extremely hard in those times
Wow. Awesome!
This game was like Bloodborne of my childhood.
I remember that when press (probably) start and up button simultaneously you could play some character with a gun instead of Indiana. Anyone remember something like this?
This seems like a cool game.

16:17 He really existed.
DAMN CAVE THEME...
Épico
It's going for $100 on eBay right now 🙁
Imagine if this game were made by Konami or Capcom....
"This is the worst Indiana Jones game of all! This is below the standard of any human decency! I can't even believe this is real! Why'd they make level one so difficult?" - AVGN
Hahaha, I love the ideology involved. The Mexican Revolution was a lie! Hahaha....
damn i used to have this as a kid. but fuck paying ebay prices, 75$ for it now for 30 mins of game play is a ripoff
Sure doesn't look like Indiana Jones is young in this game.
This is a good game, but hard as hell, I only managed to finish it using cheats... The player makes it look easy, but it's so easy to die
i thought american exclusives are easier during the executions of localization. but this is not an example, for a game which had no Japanese Version, this is unfair asf. Even harder than Konami Batman Returns

THIS IS THE WORST INDIANA JONES GAME OF ALL!!!
You never played the Atari Indy game
Damn, what a terrible portrayal of the Mexican history and revolution! Gameplay wise it's a good game , the music is cool as well, but the plot choice sucks, considering there are so many great Indiana Jones stories they could've picked up.
