Damn, this game was really good for its time; nice soundtrack, even the pause menu has its sound. It has trading, and so much new things for that year. I haven't appreciated it until now.
Bons tempos.
I bought this game in 1987 for $34 at a toy store called Child World before I even owned a Nintendo. I did this because I wanted a Nintendo so bad I knew if i bought a game first, I would have no choice but to save up for one. Got $50 for Christmas that year, and since a Nintendo was $118, I was almost halfway there. It was the first time I really had to save for something and set a goal and then accomplished it. I have better memories of this game than any other!
I can't emphasise enough how much I freaking love this game and can't begin to count how many hours I've put in over the years. And this game is begging for a sequel maybe as just a downloadable console game or Hell even as a smartphone game.
I think how hard this game was was some of its appeal to me. My local supermarket had Gun Smoke as an arcade game when I was a kid. I managed to make it to Level 3 the first time I played it, all the older kids thought I was the MAN. :D
WAIT. You can pick up the dynamite? You can shoot down the BOOMERANGS?? My childhood is a lie. I lost so many lives to Cutter. I might have beaten this as a kid if I'd known that.
I got GunSmoke and ikari Warriors for the NES for my Birthday, the train back from Manchester lasted for ever. Nothing took longer than waiting to get home with a new NES game.
I didn't appreciate it back then because I was expecting something else (I don't know, maybe a western side scroller or something). But looking back at it now, it was a fresh idea on the shooter genre, and it's too bad I didn't give it more time.
My real first feeling of wild west better then any cowboy movie in its day. I play this today but I gots the turbo button so it’s like the machine gun all the time. 😎👍
Release this on the Virtual Console now!!! I need this on my Wii U. And usually I would of course prefer arcade versions, but in this case the NES sound chip might make this more pleasant version for me.
want to said that some skeleton appear from the broken wooden barrel will reduce the character status such as walking speed and fire power. It didn't increase the incoming but only deal harmful to the character. So just avoid it.
Takes place in 1849, but there are Ninjas, magnums, machine guns and ridiculously high payouts (for the time) for bounties. Sounds about right, historically.
i only knew 2 people growing up that could beat this game without some kind of turbo controller. this is how video games should be made. i love this game, and i love it being fuckin tough.
Are you using some kind of turbo function? It just doesn't strike me as physically possible to mash those stiff NES controller buttons THAT fast... Also, that death in Death Mountain (heh) could have been averted if you had been using the smart bomb.
im thinking the wanted posters make the boss come quicker right? for some reason i was thinking if u didnt find the poster, the level was a little longer.
The boss wouldn't show up at all unless you had the poster when you reached the end. If you didn't have it at that point, the level would just loop again, endlessly until you had it.
My mom just dropped off my old NES and N64 a few days ago after cleaning the attic. 39 yo man and I’ve been giddy on eBay ordering games. This ones next.
Yeah, I always thought it was just random when the guy showed up but apparently you need that poster lol. Great game though one of my favorites on the system
Music from first stage still sometimes stucks in my head to this day, awesome memories
I used to mow my dad's yard when I was teenager and that song would be in my head when I was on the riding mower
Til this day bro
Me too brother ❤❤😢
Me too
Red Dead Redemption's grandaddy.
Abraham Meat it actually is, Rockstar actually reached out Capcom and bought the title when they were making red dead revolver

Feel hype when play with hear this music
Damn, this game was really good for its time; nice soundtrack, even the pause menu has its sound. It has trading, and so much new things for that year. I haven't appreciated it until now.
Wow, the level of reflexes this game demanded back in the day is unreal.
The quick or the dead
Tried cobra triangle?
Exactly. Been saying it since day 1
You need good reflexes to beat this game

Eu tinha o dvd também
I used to play this when I was at high school. Good memories…

Gunsmoke is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING and AMAZING on the Nintendo 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Such a difficult game! But memories 💙
It was very difficult. However I remember being awesome at this game
True
I've been wanting Capcom to reboot this game for a long time, or give it the Bionic Commando Rearmed treatment. It's up there in my top 5 NES games.
Red dead revolver was supposed to be a spiritual successor to this game as it was originally a capcom game
Same composer
I can't emphasise enough how much I freaking love this game and can't begin to count how many hours I've put in over the years.
And this game is begging for a sequel maybe as just a downloadable console game or Hell even as a smartphone game.
You could always try the MAME arcade version
23:53 RIP Horsey! 😢
Miss you dad
My favorite game ever … the childhood memories ❤
I used to love playing this game. I remember faking sick and staying home from school to beat this game.
This is one of the most unique and most satisfying SHMUPS of all time
Years on and I'm still in love with this
I played this game so much !
Red Dead Revolver was originally supposed to be a sequel to this game.
I think how hard this game was was some of its appeal to me. My local supermarket had Gun Smoke as an arcade game when I was a kid. I managed to make it to Level 3 the first time I played it, all the older kids thought I was the MAN. :D
Hehehehe wow u have too good memories
"We are on your side" proceeds to charge a shit tonne of cash.
greatest Western Nintendo gun game I ever played
Bro👍👍
I love NES games coz of their music
This game is glorious. Especially the song 'The Smoking Guns of Liberation' :3
NOTE: Said song is played during 'The Boulders' stage
13:45 touch enemy and you die. That's classic
NES era. Any and all object collision is Game Over, Man.
mannnnnnn!!! The second stage sounding like Little Nemo and the Dream Master and those original Mega Man sound effects!! love this game.
It's impossible that there were so many bandits in a small town.
WAIT. You can pick up the dynamite? You can shoot down the BOOMERANGS?? My childhood is a lie. I lost so many lives to Cutter. I might have beaten this as a kid if I'd known that.
ALL BOSSES :
3:48, 7:17, 12:37, 16:42, 20:23, 25:36 ( Final Boss )
I remember being quite bad at this game as a kid, and seeing this longplay makes me wish I still had the old cartridge.
loved this game!
ahh nostalgia x.x
I got GunSmoke and ikari Warriors for the NES for my Birthday, the train back from Manchester lasted for ever. Nothing took longer than waiting to get home with a new NES game.
Valis, man you play the coolest games
They couldn’t make this game today. This was such a fun and great game.
I didn't appreciate it back then because I was expecting something else (I don't know, maybe a western side scroller or something). But looking back at it now, it was a fresh idea on the shooter genre, and it's too bad I didn't give it more time.
Loved this game as a kid!
My real first feeling of wild west better then any cowboy movie in its day. I play this today but I gots the turbo button so it’s like the machine gun all the time. 😎👍
I bet the guy who did the music from Sweet Home did this soundtrack
Apparently the guy playing this doesn't know that you can shoot FORWARD in this game as well...
Release this on the Virtual Console now!!! I need this on my Wii U.
And usually I would of course prefer arcade versions, but in this case the NES sound chip might make this more pleasant version for me.
The base sound when the horse arrives is awesome to this day.
ini dia game favorit saya sampai selesai saya main lawan musuh terakhirnaya
You have to finish this game three times in order to get the true ending.
The true ending simply says "THE END."
😂
want to said that some skeleton appear from the broken wooden barrel will reduce the character status such as walking speed and fire power. It didn't increase the incoming but only deal harmful to the character. So just avoid it.

Dude could retire with the first bounty.
Before I even view this..THIS WAS ONE COOL GAME!!
bandit bill
cutter
devil hawk
ninja
fatman joe
wingate
awesome game. today's games in android and ios seemed to get old pretty fast.
I was watching this wishing I could press A+B to make more straight shots.
…until the shotgun was broken out.
How I adored this game as a child! I really liked the horse. It was in 2006 😅
it would be cool to see an 8 bit Trigun game that plays like this game
i only knew 2 people growing up that could beat this game without some kind of turbo controller. this is how video games should be made. i love this game, and i love it being fuckin tough.
It reminds me of my early years.
I've never even played this but now I really want to. Really like like the comanche village theme.
You know everytime you pick up those skulls you degrade/takes away a boot(speed) and a rifle (slightly longer range) right? In short skulls = bad lol.
AAAAWWW! Childhood memories:)
I love this game🥰
I didn't think you were supposed to pick up bull skulls
Me either. Don’t they reduce you guns and or boots?
@sligacheese6470 yeah, they reduce your walking speed
i like this port to the NES more the the arcade version
Thank goodness for braveness
Bravery? 😒
When i have vcd games in my vcd player
You know what its All About, and this is on there.
this Channel is great bro keep this way
Childhood memories
I really miss this
Love the title & intro theme.
The only complaint I've got is it's difficulty and once-shot death. But this is a good game with good music.
This is considered an ancestor to the Red Dead games.
These graphics are Dazzling.
20:24 On her Majesty's Secret Service Theme
1:07 Billy Bob coming to Town of Hicksville
Hey man! You are supposed to beat it three times to actually play through it fully ;)
This game is awesome.
Are you using some kind of turbo function? It just doesn't strike me as physically possible to mash those stiff NES controller buttons THAT fast...
Also, that death in Death Mountain (heh) could have been averted if you had been using the smart bomb.
The only vertical shooter I know of that actually take place on the ground. :>
teckworks Nicely put!
Elemental Master
this games look so old,... that is very vintage....and ... cute? LOL .coud look great on a nintendo console on my livingroom
im thinking the wanted posters make the boss come quicker right? for some reason i was thinking if u didnt find the poster, the level was a little longer.
The boss wouldn't show up at all unless you had the poster when you reached the end. If you didn't have it at that point, the level would just loop again, endlessly until you had it.
GOOD JOB!
Into screen music sounds almost identical to Shadowgate.
The code is (When the game title appears) Press A four times then press Select four times Press right two times them press start
Damn I can't forget the bg music of this game huhuhu
My mom just dropped off my old NES and N64 a few days ago after cleaning the attic. 39 yo man and I’ve been giddy on eBay ordering games. This ones next.
That's a really fleet footed horse there
Red Dead 1.0 🤠
you are collecting cattle skulls? what madness is this?!
The Average Guy Power down!
I never knew you had to get the wanted poster, I don't think I understood the concept of reading a manual
In this game, you MUST get the wanted poster otherwise the level will just loop infinitely.
Yeah, I always thought it was just random when the guy showed up but apparently you need that poster lol. Great game though one of my favorites on the system
Hicksville?!
Lol...
20:58 His face just like Los Pubro(Arcade version), right?
PEOPLE!! You can't beat this game without the Turbo Controller!
This looks like a fun game
