I would love love love to go back here. My first excursion there, in August 1990 (?) resulted in a broken foot. My own fault--left my boots in the car. We were headed home & just decided to stop in, & the tour was about to get underway. The silver lining is that I met the nicest, most knowledgeable park rangers!! The second silver lining is that I learned the REAL value of proper footwear. I started RN school on crutches, & in a hot pink cast, over 30 yrs ago, when you still actually had to walk thru registration, & actually GO to classes LOLOL. The park is absolutely beautiful desert with a great visitors center. It's very close to Lake Amistad which imho is a must see destination. I love wide open spaces, history, culture, & fresh water so clear that you can easily see 30' or so. Stop in at Seminole Canyon ❤ Take the tour, but wear your sturdy walking/hiking shoes! 😎
Grew up running wild in them thar canyons. Was lucky to go there as a child before it was "saved" from pot-hunting artifact thieves. Wonderful place to visit

I lived in Sanderson Texas in Terrell Co. for years & never was in the Canyon itself. 😢
