I have a 2000 Hornet, I made some modifications such as free exhaust, sports filter, increased carburettor nozzles, but the speeds you say are not real, mine already at 180 has steering vibrations that don't allow you to go faster unless you make some modifications at the front.
My hornets top speed is 120 which is the speed limit and I can't afford any more tickets. And the skin on my neck start flapping in the wind and buzzing even at that speed and that shit hurts. I'm sure 235 would rip my skin off if I could hold on long enough.
I made 245 but the wind was in my favour .. regular conditions it makes 220 230 .. you just need to pick the right time to achieve that .. If you still can't then you probably need new spark plugs and air filter .. regular maintenance .. You'll be amazed how these small things can make a difference ..

You didn't even shift out of 4th gear. You got a 5th and 6th gear too my friend
it won't pull any faster in those gears. source: my 919 doesn't, either.

Stock exhausts are extremely restrictive on those, for all the people saying they cant go over 210.
