I’m really glad to see someone made this video. On my first run of the game, I got out of the tutorial area and tried to max out the Pokédex as much as possible prior to entering the main city. I was able to get 321 caught with 25 in reserve for trade or special evolutions, and I attempted to get all the stakes without Koraidon/Miraidon. I came up one short for both Purple and Yellow stakes, and two or three short for Green and Blue. It’s a fun challenge that I’m sure you enjoyed with your variation!
Happy to see a kindred spirit! Pity none of them are possible, I'm holding out hope there will be some crazy new glitch discovered that will help reach these areas, one can dream
Thank you so much everyone for the absolutely crazy support on this video, I never would have imagined my first proper video would reach 20k views! Stick around for more challenge runs! Should hopefully have a video out this Friday
Hey, super cool video! I had a similar curiosity and PAINFULLY went thru all the purple stakes and caught Wo-Chien before even meeting Miraidon. Took stupid amounts of patience waiting on some battle warps to be decent positioning
I remember playing this game first time blind And found the stakes and was so confused And then in one of the classes they stated it was “legendary” Pokémon made my jaw drop lmao
This game doesn't have level scaling, but you can immediately get pokemon above the champion's team, truly Triple AAA quality when you inadvertently allow your players to become OP before even fighting Katie.
Technically, the only real problem is the obedience system, the less badges you have the less likely they will obey you relative to the level they are captured or traded in.
As a huge fan of the Professor Oak Challenge, this was a great watch! I hope one day some more tech is discovered so we can get all 4 legends with no badges!!
Because of this, I now have a dumb but fun idea to do. I absolutely love Chien-Pao. Since capturing is technically possible, I got one idea, gain a love ball and capture it in that ball. The idea is go gain 500,000 poké somehow, beat the water gym, gain a shroomish, and grind my starter plus that shroomish to lv 60. After all that I could simply spore it, attack it to low health, and pray that the love ball work. Why would I go out of my way to obtain a pokémon that will not obey me until the end game? The answer is that I can apparently and I'm bored.
As of doing this idea of a lunatic's challenge I was thinking how far can I go without the BLJ, by doing the battle warp prior to the start of the game so I won't get interrupted. The setups like getting the amulet coin and capturing various pokémon to make money for the 500,000 Poké I need to obtain to guarantee purchasing the love ball auction are exhausting so I rather not be interrupted once I head straight to the water gym to do the challenge for the auction house. As it turns out the only one I can't do is the second yellow one of this video (extra note, turns out I forgot about the last one in the video simply because I read my map wrong so it's actually two, there's nothing extra for that one though). Had the battle warp technique worked from the tower at Area 1 West, I could've gotten all of the stakes before even riding Miraidon/Karaidon. Fun times for sure. Now it's time to make 200,000 more Poké so I could get that Love Ball. Also the love ball is the only pokéball that cannot be obtain through the pokédex reward or normal shops so that's my biggest reason why, plus I really like this snow leopard that hopes around like a weasel.
@@KingTheLuck You know, the best about this, I didn't even need to beat the gym leader, just the gym challenge. I not only successfully obtain the love ball, but I did indeed captured Chien-Pao. I added one more pokémon as a core part of the team, Tinkaton, although it's still relatively frail, I gave it the move skill swap so my starter (in this case, Skeledirge) won't get bodied once my Breloom dies. Just to let you know, the team I successfully used to capture Chien-Pao are; Breloom (lv49), leading with a focus sash and the moves Spores, False swipe, seed bomb, and mach punch; Tinkaton (lv60) with leftovers using only skill swap when necessary; and Skeledirge (lv67) with wide lens using sing if breloom dies. Now that I have it, I called it Arla and I guess I'll EV train it. As an extra I went everywhere and have 4 high level grind spots, the first is Casseroya Lake (the land in between the river and that lake), although not the best place to grind for my fire starter, tropius are relatively easy to take out once it turns into skeledirge. Eventually I could safely take it out through auto-battles and apparently it does give out more experience for some reason, breloom also benefits here with golduck. The next area is North Provence Area 3, it's because of chancey, not much else. The 3rd area is North Provence Area 1, high level pokémon and no interruptions after gaining access to the mount, really good for Skeledirge and Tinkaton. And finally North Provence Area 2, excellent grind location with Luxray giving out massive amounts of exp. through auto-battles, unfortunately interruptions will occur once you use the pokémon center as a fast travel point after obtaining the mount. Overall it was a fun time. The in-game clock states I took 16 hours to do it all, but the other clock on my switch states it's 20 hours. Most of that lost time is on resets for the love ball (I had 6 other rare pokéball spawn, but I had to skip them because I don't want to grind up to another 500,000 Poké again), the rest is just the battle itself, which took me roughly around 20-30 tries. This was and is a fun experience, so yeah, that video got me going. Would I do Wo-Chien? Actually I still haven't beaten the gym yet, so I guess that could be my next target. Luckily I still have about 300,000 Poké so obtaining other love ball might not be out of reach.
God, I remember one of the stakes so frustrating to get without the climbing ability. You probably mention it in this video but it took so many tries to get up there. I was just persistent because it seemed so doable without getting the climbing ability, and it was! But required so many precise jumping and gliding Edit: Yep, it was the first Blue stake. That sucked. You one hundred percent need the dash, high jump, and glide followed with precise jumps for that one to be possible without climbing. It took me so many tries.
What you do is you go catch a level 25 Donphan in the Asado desert and teach it the Egg move Endeavor using the Mirror Herb, then you need to go defeat Orthworm using Sturdy and Endeavor to get swimming, and then go to the lake to defeat Dondozo and Tatsugiri to get climbing. Endeavor doesn't do full HP during the powered-up stage of the Titan, but with a bit of luck with Arven, you can defeat them. After you get climbing and swimming, you can collect every stake.
The blj to reach the south province can be replaced with a different exploit. If there’s a Pokémon walking close enough the the ledge, stand against the wall and throw a ball to initiate a battle. Try to have the path that the ball takes be parallel to the wall, a good amount of the time you will be teleported up the ledge and be put in a battle against the Pokémon. Then just run or win and hold towards the grass so you don’t fall. Hopefully this trick is a bit less precise for those who don’t want to brute force the wall
Very interesting. I've been trying to get the Stakes without Miraidon at all, but for every color there seems to be at least one that is just too high up.
Currently, without Mirai/Koraidon, Chien-Pao and Wo-chien are obtainable (Just like with mounted!) Chien-Pao is the easiest, but Wo-Chien is a bit decisive. You could theoretically wait for Pokemon to drop from the cliff sides for the pond up the hill and spiral mountain... but Id rather not wait for them, so luckly that 1.0 glitch solves the 2 easily. The stake next to Artazon may seem impossible, but trust me when I say, the method can be done on current patch. (I'm just gonna write it here to the best I can: (enable autosave) Go to the side of the plateau, but not the pokecentre one. Wait for a pokemon to be near the top of the plateau and pray that its low enough and can be targetted. Initiate battle, auto-save, quitout and enter. You will be in the plateau. From here you can walk towards Artazon to respawn pokemon, youre gonna look for 2 spawn groups, Pawniard on the cliff, and Maushald next to the tree by the pokemon centre (Maybe other pokemon will work for the tree but Maushold gives a nice distance from tree, Pawniard is compulsory). Theres a triangle bit of the cliff you can stand under, aim at Maushold long distance, and youll end up on top of this triangle (which you previously couldnt climb on cause your legs are to short) walk towards the top of this triangle, and aim for Pawniards, now all you have to do is manage this Pawniard horde so that one little guy will be towards the right of the player (Pawniards surround the player in battle, so you gotta run and reenter till one guy is at the right spot. Once he's there target him and pray that you get on top. As for the other two legendaries... 💀Funny enough, walking blocks you out of one stake for Chiyu, while riding blocks another, so if youre going for only mount, youd need to actually start your journey unmounted. So the max for mounted would be 7/8 while walking its 6/8. (The damn hill next to the pokecenter is killing me). Im not even gonna look into Ting-lu's no mount route until I find something that isnt a camera glitch...
Sequence broke a lot in my most recent playthrough just to see how far I could get. Nearly made it to the peak of glaseado mountain before I decided to just start actually playing the game.
this is a brilliant video, I very very much enjoyed this and the laughs I got when you couldn't get the green/blue stakes and your animated self came in - this was absolutely hilarious!! keep up the good work
I was confused on this too, but for reference, the reason he couldn’t get the last blue stake, was that beating any path gives you a badge, not just the gym path, so even though he could beat the last star member, it would give him a badge, of course if only the gym badges were off limits, like in a oak hunt, it would 100% be possible and much of his issues wouldn’t be there
If you go to the spot before school starts, the stake is up for grabs, leaving the only stake which is the mountain/shrine... which might also be up for grabs if you teach Hawlucha to fly
I just wish there was extra dialog with Ms Raifort if you came to class with them. "Yeah, there was once 4 treasures that ruined Paldea" "You mean these?" "Uh. What? HOW?!?" "Yeah, I just found this thing in a giant glowing door in the side of a mountain"
"Can't use any high level pokemon because we have no badges" Not how it works. If you caught your pokemon at a level lower than your cap and your pokemon has high friendship, they'll still listen to you. I have a level 75 Tinkaton and only beat 4 gyms, for reference.

Wooo thank you for also finding out about the blj the only reason I found out was I wanted to test if he could jump backwards then I found out that I could jump up the mountains lol
Even without Upgrades, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Progression becomes broken just by... Jumping Backwards... (Is this Super Mario 64 on the N64 or is the Gen 9?!)
12:16 You cant get to chi-yu even if you have all 8 steaks because the shrine is in a cave near the top of a steep mountain that you cant blg you need climbing. 12:16
For the four (or five) stakes that aren’t obtainable, I’m curious what are the least amount of upgrades that are required to get them all? If you got glide would that be enough, or would you need climb as well? Could you even manage to beat those fights without badges to use higher level Pokémon? I wish you’d have answered these burning questions of mine!
As of the 1st of November, Chien-Pao, Wo-chien and even Chi-yu can be caught without Miraidon or Koraidon, with theoretical (but possible) route for Ting-Lu for Scarlet Version 1.0 (Miraidon's hitbox is too dummy thicc)
Having a low amount of badges doesn't actually prevent you from having a low-level Pokémon IIRC. As long as you catch them at a level below the cap you can grind them to be whatever level you want
I think at least you only need very few badges to actually get the remainder. The gyms would help with catching but are still unecessary and team star is also unecessary because they dont have any stakes locked inside their camps. Thus since the issues you need to bypass are swimming in the lake and climbing up the peaks in the northest, you only need to beat the titan bombardier to get all the green stakes and capture that legendary and then you only need to beat the false dragon titan(which you need the ability to swim to do anyways) to get the ability to climb up for the blue stakes
@@Gregariousness1 yep but I'm speaking more to minimal badges required to finish the legendries rather than no badges. 2 or so badges is not zero badges required to get all the legendaries but it's still something cool ig.
Well technically the game wants you to get the stakes at any point after you talk to the history teacher enough and I don’t even think glide is necessary even without glitches
I wonder how many badges you need to get all of the legendaries from their original games, like gen 1 you can get mew without a single badge, but the weather trio not so much
Question, is it possible to get all the stakes for Ting-Lu & Chi-Yu with just glide? Like, even with that super fast momentum glitch/exploit, which I'll be taking into account for my SV co-op Professor Oak Challenge guide.
I think with the super glide it's probably possible? I haven't tried it myself but I think if you super glide off the top of glaseado everywhere in the game should be reachable
@@KingTheLuck From what I know, I think you can get all of Ting-Lu's with surf & high-jump and all of Chi-Yu's with high-jump and glide. Still worth researching tho.

Yes.
I'm actually gonna cry this is the worst news I've heard all day

I knew immediately that it wasn’t possible because the shrine of the 4th legendary is in a cave you can only access through surfing..

Damn. Sads. But thank you for at least going as far as you could. 👍
despite pooping all over game freaks first open world game, i can give you credit for getting at least two of them
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love these games lmao
You deserve far more subs
Even without Upgrades, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Progression becomes broken just by... Jumping Backwards... (Is this Super Mario 64 on the N64 or is the Gen 9?!)
STICKS AND GLUE 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
12:16 You cant get to chi-yu even if you have all 8 steaks because the shrine is in a cave near the top of a steep mountain that you cant blg you need climbing. 12:16
As bizarre of a suggestion, this is actually the way (provided its on 1.0)
During the grass wither shrine he called fletchling fletchender
You can have high level pokemon listen to you without badges if you eat a sandwich together.
I was about to click away from the video to go shiny hunting and immediately he said "Hey *click* Don't Click Away Keep Watching
yeah i immediately thought of the location of the chi yu shrine and figured out it was impossible
What a great game! (I'm still genuinely enjoying it but man it's a mess in so many aspects lmao)
I actually speedrun the game a second time to get a chi-yu, and just had to beat a couple titans to do so
For the four (or five) stakes that aren’t obtainable, I’m curious what are the least amount of upgrades that are required to get them all? If you got glide would that be enough, or would you need climb as well? Could you even manage to beat those fights without badges to use higher level Pokémon? I wish you’d have answered these burning questions of mine!
As of the 1st of November, Chien-Pao, Wo-chien and even Chi-yu can be caught without Miraidon or Koraidon, with theoretical (but possible) route for Ting-Lu for Scarlet Version 1.0 (Miraidon's hitbox is too dummy thicc)
“Just a little side guest doing”
Having a low amount of badges doesn't actually prevent you from having a low-level Pokémon IIRC. As long as you catch them at a level below the cap you can grind them to be whatever level you want
IT’S A NEW GAME THEY HAVEN’T PATCHED ALOT OF GLITCHES YET. IT HASN’T GLITCHED THAT MUCH.
YOU GET BADGES FROM BEATING THE TITANS
@@Gregariousness1 yep but I'm speaking more to minimal badges required to finish the legendries rather than no badges. 2 or so badges is not zero badges required to get all the legendaries but it's still something cool ig.
Good job man! keep it up
Well technically the game wants you to get the stakes at any point after you talk to the history teacher enough and I don’t even think glide is necessary even without glitches
Stakes... Oooh. I kept hearing steaks. As in beef. Was wondering why you were hunting cooked meat.
I wonder how many badges you need to get all of the legendaries from their original games, like gen 1 you can get mew without a single badge, but the weather trio not so much
15:46 what was this 💀
literally it's so funny
Question, is it possible to get all the stakes for Ting-Lu & Chi-Yu with just glide? Like, even with that super fast momentum glitch/exploit, which I'll be taking into account for my SV co-op Professor Oak Challenge guide.
I think with the super glide it's probably possible? I haven't tried it myself but I think if you super glide off the top of glaseado everywhere in the game should be reachable
@@KingTheLuck Oh, apparently it was patched anyway :(
@@awesomelink2347 devastating 💔
@@KingTheLuck From what I know, I think you can get all of Ting-Lu's with surf & high-jump and all of Chi-Yu's with high-jump and glide. Still worth researching tho.
MIRAIDON IS MARIO
When I dont know a matching pokeball for a pokémon i normally use a normal pokeball or premier ball I did that with the legendaries
3:55 you could’ve just jumped across to the other side lmao, that’s what i do in my playthroughs with no upgrade
Ahahaha I'd believe it, couldn't manage the jump myself though!
32 jumps easily clear indeed
you keep talking about steak and i’m getting hungry
Where did you get that many ultra balls? Also you know you could have just trained up your team to fight Wo-Chien, right?
8:44 what’s this song? It sounds familiar
That's Halland / Dalarna from Minecraft Dungeons / Smash Ultimate!
Why is no one talking abt how he was able to catch level 60’s without defeating any gyms
13:36 you could sense me scrolling into the comments
You can make the jump for stake 2 if you try enough
just do the biology teachers classes and she will unlock them all unless its the history teacher idk
I respect it, fun little video
My dream is to become the fun little video guy
@@KingTheLuck we respect fun little video guys here, you keep up the hustle and you'll do great :)
isn't downgrading possible on a modded console?
man i really needed a B L J ealier into the game ;)
hmmm
im gonna say no due to water requirements
backwards jumps are gonna mitigaye dsmage from climbing
