recomendation for a "makeup bag"? not a dopp or toiletry kit but one that can hold all (hair dryer, all "getting ready" items). I have a Hartmann that is over 20 years old that no longer closes, the clasp broke.

I have a siilar Tumi that I prefer because there's a deep pocket on the outside that works as a water bottle holder without messing with the lines of the bag. My Samsonite carry on roller has taken to squeaking like an annoying bird and I don't love it. I think I'm going to get one with a laptop compartment on the front. If I bring my laptop, I generally don't use it on the plane, so hate adding the weight to my personal item.

As a man I don't really know much about the "bag industry" and how much bags cost. I know there are some for 20$ which are totally fine and some for a couple hundred dollars. This is a bag which costs around 200$. So it's maybe not high end, but everything other than cheap. Would you say it's worth the money (assuming you have more experience with bags in general)? When you answer this question, please keep in mind the whole bag industry and not just the travel (bag) industry (if there's a difference). Thanks a lot!
This is a good price especially given the quality and how long Longchamp bags last. The fact that it's made of nylon makes it a lot more durable than most work/travel bags. Also, this bag is still considered cheaper than most bags with a similar legacy and quality. The levels for designer bags in the female category (to me) are: $0-100 - Cheap, typically finds from TJ Maxx and other large department stores (not including luxury ones like Nordstorm) $100-$600 - Entry-level leather goods from contemporary brands (Cuyuna), work brands (Dange Dover), apparel brands (Madewell, Fossil), and travel/luggage bags (Away) $600-1800 - Designer goods from more accessible (cheaper) brands (Louis Vuitton, YSL) $1800-$5000 - Most designer brands (Givenchy, Dior, Fendi, Burberry) $5000+ - Few bags get a price tag bigger than this and those are all names you've heard (Chanel, Hermes)

Hi! It’s water resistant, but not water proof. I’ve been caught in the rain with it a few times and had no issues.
