@@mariabarnes9197I’ve always used this TSA approved clear bag and haven’t had an issue. I’m traveling for the first time internationally this year so I’ll see if it’s the same. 😊 Thanks for watching!
@@mariabarnes9197I have a TSA approved clear liquids bag, BUT always bring a quart size ziplock bag as each TSA can change change their mind on a whim. England airports are usually the worst about it, most others worldwide I’ve never had any issue with the Clear liquids bag. I also stick to under 3oz liquids too.
A Longchamp tote and a Uniqlo pouch are about the most useful things you can own. I've pretty much abandoned all my other purses for everyday and use them just to dress up.
Never apologize for being "that person". As a nurse, I have been wiping down airplane, bus, and train seats/trays as well as hotels rooms and cruise cabins for over 30 years. For a 3-day weekend, I take a Lovevook 17 inch backpack, for a week, I have a rolling under seat bag. I use the long tube shaped compression bags - they fit well laying in the bottom of my backpack or on end in my under seat bag.
Us Nurses know about sanitizing a thing or two right lol You’re right I shouldn’t apologize for being that person (I need to work on that). I need to look into the Lovevook backpack a few people have mentioned it. Thanks so much for watching and thanks for your service as a nurse 😊💕
Since you are flying don't forget the gum. I was a minimalist packer before minimalism was a thing. From a very young age my mom taught me if I brought it, I had to carry it. I just recently purchased my first Longchamp bag, the medium size it was perfect for the one weekend trip I used it for. If you are staying in a hotel 99% of the time they have sample sized soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Using the shampoo and conditioner for one or two nights doesn't hurt my hair.
Great tip! I will add gum. I love collecting the hotel toiletries. Some hotel shampoos make my hair really dry so I bring my own just in case. Thanks for watching 😊
I use the Large Le Pliage for my weekday work bag/purse and I've used it as my carry on for business trips. But wow, now I'm inspired to try to pack it for a weekend trip! (I'm generally an over packer)
While packing cubes work for me in a suitcase, I find that since I now mostly travel with a clamshell opening back pack, laying everything flat takes up less space. I tried it both ways and I can pack more if I don’t use packing cubes.
I have two of those Uniqlo bags in faux leather and used them both during my Japan trip a few weeks ago. Love how lightweight they are. Simple yet still stylish.
@@TheHandbagConnoisseur The faux leather is slightly bigger and spacious than the nylon. They have four colours. Perfect for travel and everyday carry. #notAD #notsponsored 😄
Love longchamp I own a couple. A slightly different fold would allow those items to tuck nicely without putting any strain on the zipper. Marie Kondo fold for the win
Thanks for sharing, I like the bag ! I, too, am a Zicam user-both allergies and cold formulas! Wonderful product! Packing-cubes really change how we pack fora trip!
The Large size Le Pliage is a tad too small for a weekend bag for me, but I have a custom XL with long handles that is just perfect to use for a 2 night getaway. I usually downsize everything I can, from shoes (Toms over Vans), socks (invisible ones instead of tennis socks), and makeup (have a mini palette for my entire face) to clothes. I pack things in thinner fabrics and form fitting cuts, for warmth I have a scarf plus a windproof jacket or a packable puffer jacket etc. The total effect of cutting off a tiny bit on everything is really big,
@@TheHandbagConnoisseur after being in a few long distance relationships and traveling every other weekend you learn not to carry anything extra! 😄 The Le Pliage XL size with long handles is amazing, and also with short handles the Travel size LP tote is amazing. I'm not sure if the XL is available fo customization now (mine is a few years old) also Longchamp prices have hiked a_lot in the recent years, but there are other options. F.e. Day Et has the Gweneth tote in several sizes, also Kipling has upped their game recently - Colissa tote in the Crinkled Quilt is so beautiful and I actually have an Art M and it's the bomb for travel. So many pretty bags, so little time...
To me that's really funny - I use the M size because I don't use all this stuff like masses of hand sanitizer or makeup or anything! The Longchamp bags are all really roomy and I use either that or a Fjällraven Kanken for going on trips for any length of time... In summer it's even easier when you only need light pieces of clothing! My everyday purse is also tiny and holds everything I need, a surprisingly large number of items.
@huesli I'm very tall for a woman (6ft/183cm) so my clothes take nearly twice the space of a size 4 woman's, and my shoes aren't exactly tiny either so a bigger bag makes sense for me. I'm also the person that's always prepared for anything, so if you need anything short of a husky sleigh I'll probably have it somewhere in my bag.
I always use a beis weekender (for weeklong) but I haven’t been loving it. I have a week trip coming up I’m going to try out my lesportsac weekender and I just purchased a sling similar to the Uniqlo one so I’m hoping that will fit all outfits, snacks and my laptop. ❤️
Packing minimally is just not in my nature. I am the over prepared person. For 3 days and 2 nights, I took a medium sized suitcase, my purse, a good sized bag for toiletries, and a backpack that i call the " mom in case bag". We went by car. Plus a tote of snacks. 😂
One Christmas we hit black ice on the interstate and got in an accident. Kids and Hubby didn't bring gloves or hats. I had them in the backpack. Plus granola bars. The contents change with the seasons.
Thank you! You know what minimalist packing isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. My mom could never lol. If you do maybe try minimalist packing for a weekend trip! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Not bad. However I've found I save a lot of space for a "weekend trip" by transferring just a weekends worth of my face grooming products into a smaller containers. Also, I personally find a compression packing cube helps squish to a lot of that space eating poofiness out of my clothes as well as keeps things organized. I also use an e-reader app on my phone or an 8 inch tablet instead of bringing an actual book. The 8 inch tablet also doubles as my in-flight entertainment (pre-downloaded movies and music).
Great idea! I will use smaller containers for my skincare. I started using compression cubes and you’re right it keeps everything organized. I don’t know how I went so long without them. Thank you so much for watching 😊💕
That's a very good pack! Maybe a bit product- and single-use heavy for my taste, but certainly not excessive. I really liked your organization with all the small pouches. What was the packed weight on that large tote? I tend to pack very minimally for weekend trips. What you have there would probably keep me for a full week! I have a generic 16-inch backpack that fits everything I need for any length of trip and accommodates most airline under-seat limitations. I prefer a backpack to a tote just for the hands-free aspect, though I have a super cute tote from Target that I've taken on a week-long trip very comfortably. Additionally I carry a colorful fanny pack that functions as my everyday purse.
