    It is also possible to add feedback - Osc1 out to LFO Rate in.

    can you make a kinda pad sound wsith very slow attack?

  • @krisrhodes5180
    @krisrhodes5180 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I set my neutron like this for FM, I get basically the appropriate sounds but if I hold down a note with sustain, there is a _very slow_ movement in pitch in some harmonic or other, it rises and falls as though there were an extremely slow LFO interfering. But everything's set correctly, the Neutron LFO shouldn't be doing anything to the sound and the OSC 2 is pitched around where it is in your video near the beginning so it's doing FM, not LFO stuff. Also sometimes if I unplug and replug into OSC2, the result is a pretty radical change in timbre. Do either of these happen for you?

      Been some years since I had this patched up. The lfo is by default routed to attenuators. The pwm knobs and the filter mod. So make sure they are not sending lfo places you don't want. Also its analogue so there is slight differences in each neutron ( and it was never really meant to do fm )

    Hi Avril..I have a green neutron. (The behringer red make It seem a toy) I have fun with aliens sounds. But my problem is create a more rich waveform. But I don't know what I must do with the patch bay. Can you help me?
    Thanks!

      Green sounds nice, I would try adding some audio rate modulation, like in my cyberpunk video, it has some pretty rich usable sounds

      Do you mean can you sequence the Neutron with the td-3. Yes you can it has cv and gate out. And midi out. I should make a video about that

    Why did you crank up the Resonance?

    • @avrilcadabra
      @avrilcadabra  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had been trying to replicate tubular bell from dx7 earlier. That's were it sounded closer to me although I understand the dx7 did not have resonance. Totally optional of course.

      When I First listened to your intro it reminded me of an oldschool techno track called „Circus Bells“ by Robert Armani. If you like techno check out the fabulous Hardfloor Remix: open.spotify.com/album/6qfg5Fqz0tYqSFgq2ZLymZ?si=7VVKFuF5QvSqkssIQ8w7Mg

      @@avrilcadabra DX7 does not have a filter at all but it has six operators (oscillators) to modulate each other. That gives way more options to sculpt the harmonics than with 2 oscillators, but with filter resonance you can emphasize specific harmonic area to emulate more complex fm routing. (Budget Yamaha FM chips with 2 or 4 ops have the feedback option to add extra harmonics without adding costly extra operators to the silicon)
