I just bought a G7 after using a 10 year old hand-me-down Nikon for several years and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a newbie to photography and videography and it’s definitely a bit of a learning curve but I feel I can get the hang of it pretty soon. I only have the kit lense and a cheap but surprisingly good microphone, but I imagine when I inevitably upgrade I’ll have many accessories for it. Looking forward to many years of great photos and videos!
Hello, thanks for this very accurate video ! I Bought my G7 in 2017 as a kind of "little brother" for my GH4, which job it did perfectly, most of the strategic gear and settings being the same, the images on both cameras were exactly the same, allowing me to shoot from 2 angles on a minimum budget. Nowadays I'm moved on to other cameras (I'm more into Nikon) but this G7 with the fantastic little 12-32 zoom is always in my pocket on most of my trips. With a minimal size and weight (360+80=440 g for the whole ! compare it with most of other cameras...) it is the perfect tool for improvised street photography, videos, family vacations, and so on. 6 years after I'm still very satisfied with it. All the best :-)

I'm looking at this G7 camera but still do not understand if I need it or my iPhone 13 pro max is better/worse. Or perhaps just an upgrade to iPhone 14 pro max? I'd like to make 4k videos (primarily of nature) and photos that can be printed in 16x24 inch size. I learned that sensor size is what's important, but do not understand how to compare the following sizes: iPhone 13 pro max - 1/1.7, iPhone 14 pro max 1/1.28", G7 - Four Third. So will G7 actually be any good for me or iPhone will just do the job? It's quite convenient just carrying the phone rather than a camera if it won't be any upgrade in terms of the actual camera. A smartphone because of its smaller sensor will be noisier than a bigger Camera (espescially if you're recording indoors or at night time). However in well lit outdoor environments i think you can get Video footage on a smartphone that looks equaly as good as the G7. I don't know about the newer iPhones but on my Sony Xperia XZ and XZ2 i have overheating issues when recording longer videos so thats also a reason to get a Camera. However the G7 doesn't have in camera stabilisation and the mega o.i.s. stabilisation on most Panasonic Objectives is bad. So unless you need the mic input, remote shutter input or Cine-D color profile of the G7 i would recommend you to choose a GX80 over the G7 (same Sensor but with in body stabilisation) which in Germany also cost around 300€ used. The newer Olympus Cameras are known to have the best in body stabilisation but are also really pricy (more than 500€ for a used EM1 mkII)

Lumix G7 is an amazing camera. I'm using it for livestreaming right now. Bro what lens is good for livestreaming if I want a very wide FOV but also a slight bokeh when its focused on me?
Leave it to TH-cam and your smart messaging to convince me to own one! Bought one from a trusted and dear friend, and am excited to cut content - Am curious though about the matching Image App - learning about some of the many settings (noticeably focus pulls, etc.), can the Image App mimic much of what you're showing us?
Hey! Do you have any recommendations for Cages for the G7. Smallrig discontinued the manufacturing of these and can’t even get my hands on a used one. I primarily film and take photos vertically but at this point i’m super desperate for a decent cage.
Since you you have a “G” lens the only mounts available require you to use manual focus and aperture. The Viltrox NF M43X is what you can use 👉amzn.to/3iGtVjc
So I've recently bought a Lumix G7 from a friend of mine and I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this. While I love the video's I am producing with it, in the same lighting condition I find the photo's I shoot with it downright ugly. I've been doing my best to adjust the settings to improve it but I just don't like what comes out ever. Is there something obvious I am missing? When I shoot photo's in simular conditions with my Canon EOS 60D everything just looks much more natural.
I'm a beginner photographer I got the cam recently 😅. I'm loving it but I need more tips to improve the picture quality. I used to snap shots using professional mode on mobile so now I want some improvement over this camera for street & portrait photography. Which lens should I use to get so ? I've got a 14-42 lens with it.
Hello, the 12-35 f2.8 is a wonderful lens. Anyway, don't forget to train yourself on the use of the settings. There is so much possible in this direction to improve the images : ISO, shutter, aperture, lights/shadows settings, shooting mode (I love Cinelike V)...are you also using zebra and peak ? It is very useful...also. All the best :-)
Also you can buy very good used lenses with an adaptator (Viltrox for example). I've bought very good old Nikon lenses which do a very good work on this G7.
4K mode has its caveats. Every 10 minutes it creates a new file creating a gap in the audio and it freezes for 2 frames. It also has a 10% crop (not as big a deal as the file issue)
My Lumix G7 was a great camera...until the mechanical shutter failed. Sure, the electronic shutter still worked but the premature failure of the mechanical shutter disappointed me (it had less than 6K shutter count). It's all good, though. I replaced it with the Lumix G9. :)
I just bought a second one used for a great price and some very nice lenses to record parts of the church service that I go to. First camcorder I used is the Canon xa 11. The colors on the viewing screens appear better than the more expensive Canon, lol.
Lots people didn't like this camera people gave it such a bad review do to it's focus point and stabilization..to me this camera is asome I use it alot with different lens and tell you what find a lens with build in stabilization you can't go wrong.i love it

@@SeezSantos Under $200CAD? I was looking at the DJI RS 3 Mini and it looks great but I do not think I can afford it at the moment. What do you think?
@@SOABASSASSIN the new Ronin-SC look like a great option! It has a lot of features you need for a stabilizer.
@@SeezSantos Thank you for the response and recommendation. I appreciate it a lot :) Stay blessed my brother 🙏
i have high end computer with a RTX-4090 24GB in it, do i still need a capture card to stream using the Lumix G7 ? I want to make sure, so I don't go & buy a capture card without needing one
Thanks in advance!
What’s the hack for unlimited recording ?
I didn’t understand this bit either
Great camera.
2025 still have it and creating contents with it! I might buy another one.
what gimbal would you recommend for the Lumix g7?
I have zhiyun crane v2 and is so good
Amazing video bro 😎 sub and liked 💫
🔥
@@SeezSantos I’m saving my money and getting the Lumix G7 in 2023 💫because of you good work
Trying to decide on G7 or G95. Why this one vs. that one? Thanks!
If you can afford the G95 I would recommend that over the G7!
Thank you for the feedback. I have been leaning that way.
@@SeezSantos One concern i have is weight difference.
If you like to film handheld, the Lumix G80/85 have similar features, or even better than the G7, plus an excellent IBIS.
Great
I agree I got three of them will never sell them
@BurninSven1 nice!! What do you use them for ?
@@SeezSantos I shoot video ndth-cam.com/video/d-Zab-hzsJk/w-d-xo.html and for livestreaming
Lumix G7 is an amazing camera. I'm using it for livestreaming right now.
Bro what lens is good for livestreaming if I want a very wide FOV but also a slight bokeh when its focused on me?
It is great for streaming! What's your budget ?
@@SeezSantos Its awesome! Ideally less than $1,000
So I was wondering what mode should I be shooting for Vlogging manual mode or movie mode on my g7
Movie mode 👍
@@SeezSantos thank youuuu
One last question’s 😬, what exposure modes should I play with and should I keep in in nature, standard or cinlike d
It's so hard to find a cage for these! Unfortunately t's whatever is available on the used market.
@@SeezSantos Ugh that’s what I figured😭 thanks for the response back anyways though!!
Used to have a t5i but this was the other camera I was looking at any who I’m definitely going to get this one now because it’s cheap
Is there a way to extend the time when filming a still video such as myself. The screen turns off after about 10min(I think) How do I turn this off?
That’s weird! Let me look into that’s and get back to you
I asked reddit and they said its a feature that can't be removed to preserve the battery.@@SeezSantos
HOW I ATTACH Nikon AF 70-300 Mm f/4-5.6G Telephoto Zoom Lens IN LUMIX G 7 CAN I ATTECH AND USE IT
Since you you have a “G” lens the only mounts available require you to use manual focus and aperture.
Probably the lens your using
I'm a beginner photographer I got the cam recently 😅.
@@EgmontLabadie thanks a lot 💓
@@EgmontLabadie really thank you ❤️ for your suggestion but finding used & good quality lens in India is bit of hit & miss
@@debasispatra3378 Ah ok sorry...All the best !
4K mode has its caveats. Every 10 minutes it creates a new file creating a gap in the audio and it freezes for 2 frames. It also has a 10% crop (not as big a deal as the file issue)
Does this gap issue happens to everybody? I'm concerned now, since my brother bought me a G7 from Germany, and sometimes I record audio separately.
@@marcelomassayuki7899 I'm speaking from my experience buying a G7 model in the US
Baised openion.
Not digesting the reality.
What website was that for the used cameras
eBay
Ebay!
what's the quality of the photo it produce
They put a recording limit usually due to overheating not tactics homie
I want lens anyone know where to buy second hand lenses ?
I LLLLOVE MY G7
Lumix g7 wow
Is the g7 good for photography
For beginners yes. There are some other alternatives I would highly recommend!
My Lumix G7 was a great camera...until the mechanical shutter failed. Sure, the electronic shutter still worked but the premature failure of the mechanical shutter disappointed me (it had less than 6K shutter count). It's all good, though. I replaced it with the Lumix G9. :)
What was the hack?
Is this a good camera to film handheld?
This camera does not have IBIS, so if you are looking for super smooth handheld shots is recommended the G85/95
👏🏻👏🏻💯
Lumix g7 or sony zv e10?
I just bought a second one used for a great price and some very nice lenses to record parts of the church service that I go to. First camcorder I used is the Canon xa 11. The colors on the viewing screens appear better than the more expensive Canon, lol.
Nice! I’ve had a few viewers use it for the exact same reason but to live stream!
If i don't care about the video part....for stills is ok,right?
Do you get away with the USB-power while streaming or do you use a dummy battery?
Unfortunately, with the G7 you have to use the dummy battery.
OMG, it’s McLovin 😮😮😮
🤣
How does this compare to the slightly more expensive Canon m50?
G7? Or g70?
I have a budget of 45k so should I go with this in 2024 ?
Watch more reviews bro😊
lol no
Lots people didn't like this camera people gave it such a bad review do to it's focus point and stabilization..to me this camera is asome I use it alot with different lens and tell you what find a lens with build in stabilization you can't go wrong.i love it
