Fruits Basket was the anime/manga that started my obsession when I was around 12 or so and I reread/rewatch at least once a year. I did a version of this on the weekend where I read all 36 volumes of Yona of the Dawn 😅 I watched the anime when it first came out and read some of it but my library had volumes 1-20 so I impulse grabbed them. Just so good!
I love that so many booktubers are getting into manga collecting. I've been collecting manga for about 20 years and have accumulated 1,691 volumes with more on the way and not counting my husband's collection. XD

Killing Stalking is a manwha (Korean manga) that was originally a webnovel. That's how I read it and I still have PTSD lmao! I had no idea what a psychological horror was before reading and it gets crazier as it goes! The author did an amazing job...it sticks to the corners of your mind and f***s you up, but you feel so compelled to keep reading to see what happens. Oh the back stories 😭, I can't wait to see your thoughts on the end. I also just picked up the 2nd vol of Parasyte!
Honestly, it was like watching a true crime show, but elso experiencing it at the same time. The parts where I wasn't screaming where the parts where I was afraid to make a sound. 😂

Sweat and Soap gets better as it goes on. I love, love, love this series. I think she is more self conscious about her sweat, not her BO. I suspect he is the only one that can even notice it, because his nose is so sensitive. It does a great job of avoiding unnecessary misunderstandings tropes.

Welcome to the Killing Stalking fandom!!! I love that manwha so much. It’s definitely dark and very messed up,but it drags you in. I already preordered the third installment,because I can’t wait. I’m so invested in it!! But definitely agree that you have to be okay with really dark subjects and heavy gore. It’s 18+ for a reason. Also I agree with alpha and omega one,I read it as well;I was super uncomfortable with everything that manwha was trying to convey. And I just hate how the art of the front cover seems so wholesome and adorable. But it’s really messed up no connect fic in my opinion. Which makes me so uncomfortable and sad. That’s why I’m okay and comfortable with reading Killing Stalking;because it doesn’t deceives you into thinking an wrong way;when the plot is completely different,it blunt and direct in the cover plot and the litt blurb in the back of the book. And you know what you’re actually getting into. Regardless,I’m so so excited for the third installment of Killer Stalking;I always takes me two days to finish an installment of the manwha.

This weekend I read all 16 volumes of Tokyo Ghoul:Re. It was nice to finish off the series :) Volume 2 of Pokémon was an ORDEAL for me to find. I had to order it three times to actually get a copy, and I only managed to find it after driving to a Barnes and Noble 2 hours away.

That's quite a good haul i have 2 recommendations if your interested: Bloom Into You - Yuri Romance that tells a very good story, very sweet. It also has an anime based off the manga but the whole story is yet to be adapted. Romance with some drama on the side. An Introvert’s Hookup Hiccups: This Gyaru Is Head Over Heels for Me! Light Novel, Yeah LN's have titles that are about as long as paragraphs sometimes :) I fell in love with volume 1 and have 2 preordered for when it comes out March 6th. Romance, very easy going, very chill and a couple that's easy to root for.
It's quite possible you already own/have read these but for manga recs I would really recommend Toilet Bound Hanako-kun- this and Yona of the Dawn are my current obsessions- It's a fantastical/supernatural series, the characters are my favorite part of it, I am so invested in all their stories. also My Love Mix-Up, a BL romantic comedy with a rather ridiculous premise but it's really sweet and I like the art a lot, and Mars. it's out of print but is available on amazon as a free ebook thing? It's a romantic drama with emphasis on drama, it was written in like late 90s/early 00s. The set up is like bad boy/good girl kind of thing, but I swear every volume surprised me with what happened next omg. The Geekend was a great idea you should definitely do another one in the future!
I'm always sad that we don't have a lot of physical manga places here in the netherlands and seeing forbidden planet and traveling man always makes me wanting to go there (same with book-off and barnes and nobles) but then hearing you talk about buying way too many and I think maybe it is better that we don't have them here because I would be there all the time 😂 Also same I bought so much manga this month! So thankful I can just get digital or secondhand manga for like a pound or two in Japanese 😭 the price difference is wild between English and Japanese manga.
Yes! Manga in Japan is so cheep compared to English😭 I suppose because of higher costs with licensing and translations etc😭 My Japanese is not perfect tho so I still read allot in English (especially comedy!)

Omg if you’re doing a spooky reading video in York, I think the book ‘Sixteen Souls’ by Rosie Talbot would be perfect! It’s LGBTQ+ YA but it’s set in York and deals with ghosts and mediums and all that jazz (I’m currently reading it so I couldn’t tell you if it’s actually good or not yet, just that the vibes are all there)

Killing Stalking is a really great psychological horror that pushes some really dark boundaries, but for some reason there is a large section of the internet that considers it a romance. It is definitely not a romance.😬
At 3:22 agree with you as somebone who born in 2001, my country we bearly had queer books in school library or any library. I think that why people how banned (in USA) queer books in the school library and I'm like I know how it feels not have mc like me how it made me self hate (that I'm still working of unlearn it)
