This with Fern and Stark makes probably sense cause, they are be raised alone without other gender a long time by only one person. Thats also a reason why the progress of those two are so pure and cute
A small detail I love is that we learn that humanity learned to fly only 40 years ago and in episode 3 when Frieren and Fern fight Qual, he is surprised to learn Frieren can fly now as Qual was sealed about 80 years ago. We even get a pov shot of Qual briefly looking for Frieren on the ground before seeing her up in the air
I fucking LOVE that shot. Frieren does a great fucking job at showing instead of explaining (or overextending in the explanations). It was simple, the shot shaked left and right as Qual is looking for Frieren, only to be surprised by demon killing Zoltraak an instant later. It's masterpiece storytelling over and over

The tower bro, sitting just between Frieren and Himmel, representing that time is the thing standing between them. And the shadows behind them representing the life span remaining for each one. Also Frieren's ring is mirrored lotus but not blossomed. Which means their love will never happen. Peak visual story telling!

Now that we know Himmel's true intentions, we wonder how Himmel felt when he met Frieren in half a century in the ep1. we wonder how Himmel felt when he came to check Qual every year in ep3. After watching this episode, I immediately watched ep1 to ep4 again and was deeply impressed.
I'm so glad for Frieren reactors because it has allowed me to discover a couple new reactors that have managed to astonish me. A fun little analogy that i can share now, The party of heroes were what you would normally describe as misfits. A "Fake" Hero, A Corrupt Priest, A "Cowardly" Warrior, and A "Disgraceful" Mage. Yet out of all the parties in the world, they were the ones to finally defeat the demon king. A fun little analogy to make.
Frieren said that it's only been 40 years since mankind learnt to fly. So 80 years ago when they fought the demon king and his army. She couldn't even fly. And the defensive spells were quite weak compared to the current ones. Honestly i wonder how different the fights have been if she was as powerful as current frieren back then.
And that's exactly why Himmel is known as a Giga-Chad in the community cause god damn xD You looked like you were about to fall in love with this man yourself! Not like I can blame you though
I miss this show so much lol. It's crazy because the characters were soo good that they could be doing anything and I would be intrigued. Aside from the main 3 in Fern, Frieren and Stark, the additional ones along the way were great as well. Looking forward to your reactions to them all. Also Frieren doing the smug Anya face when her VA is the same was such a great homage lol.
It actually makes sense that stark doesn’t believe in his strength. He was told as a child he would never be strong by his own parents . When you’ve been raised like that it’s hard to believe you’re capable of anything .
The most bittersweet moment where Himmel puts the ring on Frieren is that the clocktower in the middle which represents TIme...Time is the enemy of all mortal beings.... This eps made me cry for real

Because of how fast she'd made her decision he thought that Frieren had picked that ring on purpose as a subtle love declaration, to which he responded by taking a knee and putting it on her finger himself to reciprocate her feelings. The tragedy was that Frieren never knew what the ring meant, and that Himmel loved her, until he was already long gone.

you have no idea how strong himmel is... we need a movie about them defeating the demon king or an OVA, although I don't think it's enough to cover it, in any case we need about 3 episodes of them defeating the demon king at the beginning of the second season., i'm gonna be praying for that to happen ,Besides, this was one of the most beautiful episodes when Himmel bows down to her to put the ring on her, although I don't understand why elves are like that and don't realize love and feelings, which we already know they have no interest in love or having. sex but come on... some elf romance. xddddddddd
Demons waited 50 years for the aged and geriatric Himmel to pass away before kicking up a fuss again. Fake hero indeed. If they show Himmels group fighting the Demon King it’s absolutely going to be the ultimate fight animation for Frieren.
Ep 12 was my fav Frieren episode. It wasn't grand with the animation or anything but Stark's backstory really tugged my heart 😭 The revelation that stark didn't just run away because he's a coward but his brother told him to because he wanted him to live (goat brother btw!) The way it comes full circle with the past & present. Stark finally learning that he is loved by those important figures in his life thru that hamburg steak 🥺😭❤️ Btw, Milet also is the one who did Frieren's ED "Anytime, Anywhere" which has become my fav ED 💜

More interesting tidbits: 12:55 remember back when Frieren was getting the hair ornament for Fern's birthday, Fern was saying she bought ridiculous things? First of all, I don't understand English, so I'm sorry if my English is a little weird. I love Mr.Angelo's reaction. The content of the 14th episode in particular was beautiful and heartbreaking. Himmel proposed to Frieren. Himmel's proposal was very beautiful, but he didn't say anything. I think Himmel thought he would never end up with Frieren. Elves in this world seem to have extremely long lives, so if Himmel were to marry Frieren, the human Himmel would die first, leaving Frieren behind. Himmel may not have wanted Frieren to feel lonely. And Frieren wasn't aware of Himmel's proposal. Frieren only became aware of Himmel's proposal after Himmel died. Therefore, a sense of sadness remains. Stolz's voice actor is Takuya Eguchi. Also, even in the English subtitled version, the characters and region names are in German. Therefore, it can be difficult to pronounce. I will introduce some people whose pronunciation is close to the original one. Stark is Shutaruku. Stolz is Shutorutsu. Sein is Zain. If these were translated into English, I think the pronunciation would be similar.
I’m convinced that Himmel couldn’t pull the heroes sword because he wasn’t the destined hero . But the destined hero was supposed to pull the sword from the stone . Meaning FRIEREN finished off the demon king. I’m guessing the rest of the party was incapacitated and frieren had to finish the fight on her own. But she let Himmel take the credit I think if frieren tried she knows she could pull the sword

Ep 12 was my fav Frieren episode. It wasn't grand with the animation or anything but Stark's backstory really tugged my heart 😭 The revelation that stark didn't just run away because he's a coward but his brother told him to because he wanted him to live (goat brother btw!) The way it comes full circle with the past & present. Stark finally learning that he is loved by those important figures in his life thru that hamburg steak 🥺😭❤️
Btw, Milet also is the one who did Frieren's ED "Anytime, Anywhere" which has become my fav ED 💜
