I used to post my music too. It is alot of work for so little reward, as far as translating to sales after spending thousands. I left all social media accept youtube. No regrets.
I just recently made the same decision to quit social media. As a musician I was struggling with that decision because I kept feeling like I need it in order to share my music when it’s out. Regardless I decided to quit and I’m giving myself a year without to focus in on my art and share it only here on TH-cam as I don’t consider YT is a social media app. Glad to see another musician went / going through this too :)
I thought this was going to be about you as a artist with you speaking to how you market now, monthly streams, etc but cool to hear about you and your friends 😂🤣
For myself, the biggest cons of deleting social media have been not knowing how to market my artwork without it and not knowing how to find out about local shows/concerts. Would love to hear your suggestions!
Good job thank you for sharing as a beauty entrepreneur I agree with everything you shared Ive been off for about a week and all ready I notice a change in my work and how I feel !
The majors have hijacked all the 'social media' & music streaming platforms these days now so getting out now and somehow going 'indie' is the way forward if you want to scrape a living as a musician these days, good luck dude
Hard to tell this year! On the one hand, obviously, dropping off social media affected how many people were finding my music. But on the other, I feel like I've made much deeper personal connections with people I'm meeting at shows these days. Not just a quick TikTok follow. And I'm happier with my musical output because I've been able to spend more time with it. So it's a trade off, for sure. But also, the SAG and writers' strike this year impacted my streams the most. Lots of people used to discover my songs from TV shows, and that almost completely went away. Spotify says I got about 1 million streams this year and about 1.2 million last year. For now, I'm enjoying playing live and building community with real people. Money stuff will sort itself out.

Thanks for watching! Same to you. Hope you're successful too
Social media is that annoying friend who’s a bad influence
Great video man - appreciate you approaching this from both angles

I believe this! Indie is the future. Cheers and good luck to you too.
How did quitting social media affect your sales and streams?

Well said.
Thank you. Much love.
I have zero listeners with or without social media 🎉😂
